Jack thought for a moment, shaking his head softly. "I'm not allowed anywhere near the ocean but I'll say hello to the stars if I can see them. I can't normally since the smog is so strong at night. Maybe one day I'll be able to free you though. Free all the mers." That was one of his wishes, to make sure everyone got what they deserved in the end.

"That is nice, Jack," she agreed sadly, "I would like to do as well. And sorrowful about the sky here. Our far, It ''tis bright and shining. Perhaps, if I get free ever, I could show."

Jack nodded in agreement, looking at his bracelet his eyes widened. "I have to go. Liam will kill me if I don't take the history audio course. I'm so sorry that I have to leave all of a sudden. I'll try to come back later okay?"

A soft almost laugh like huff came out of Jack's mouth yet still no smile appeared. "I'm not being serious Kiache. Liam can't kill me but he can restrict me to my room for multiple days and I have to come and see you right?" This question had layers, Jack was asking if he was allowed to come back later. Just to talk. Because, despite his cold exterior, all Jack really wanted-no. Needed, was a friend.

She visibly relaxed, "Good. I like talking to you, come back soon...." she trailed off, "Owner is calling, quite loud," she winced, "Better go quick."

Jack seemed very pleased but then annoyed. "Okay, I'll come back later. See you soon." Within seconds he had slid out the door and closed it behind him. Wondering who Kiache has been talking about.

Kiache dove smoothly down into the water, using her tail to propel herself along. She make sure all of the Mer Fire was lit, then swam through the tunnels. She went into tbe tank in gathering room, where there was seaweed to make a bed.

After a few moments, Jack realized who was calling for him. Liam of course. "Jack Robin your time is up get in your room now or no free time tomorrow." That was Liam's voice coming through Jack's bracelet. It took him a moment to understand that his father had sent him an audio recording despite the fact that it had sounded as if the man was right beside him. Going straight to his room, Jack took off his beanie and prepared himself for the audio course.

Kiache curled up in her pile of seaweed, and closed her eyes. She was tired, and sleep came fast and hard.
