Jack looked surprised, so rarely did his parents ever allow him freedom. Unfortunately, Liam spoke up. "Are you sure Josie? You know Jack likes to go to The Outskirts and try to get to The Unknown despite the fact that we have plenty of trees and animals here inside Skyline City." Jack frowned, already annoyed that Liam was trying to ruin his fun. "What if we sent Blessing with him?" Blessing was Jack's younger, sibling. Also the perfect one according to his parents. As if called the dashing girl appeared. With beautiful long pastel pink hair that was a mix of Liam's dark pink and Josie's white. Her eyes the same light blue as Liam's. She had inherited the tallness of Liam yet a little bit of her mother's roundness. Her cheeks round and full pink cheeks. Blessing wore only dresses, right now she wore a spring dress that reached her knees that was light blue. Jack rolled his eyes, already she was glaring at him. "What is Jack doing here? He is a danger to the guests."

Josie put her hands on her hips, "Well, Liam, I, at least, know Jack dislikes his sister. That is not going to encourage him to be good." She turned to her children, "Blessing, dear, although I understand, and agree, if he is absent our guests will notice and know he cannot control his powers well. And Jack, if you go into the Outskirts or Unknown, you must have someone with you." Pleased she has filled her role as the matriarch, Josie let herself have a triumphant smilie.

Jack shrugged, this was better than what he had expected, someone must be in a good mood. He nodded quietly as Blessing scowled as he turned away from her. Quickly pressing the button on his headphones again, they were soon blocking out the noise of the others. His gaze settled on the archway to the dining room. Soon enough many people were going to be streaming inside and he'd have to do his best not to freeze them. Blessing meanwhile pouted but said nothing in her pretty dress.

Kiache tapped the glass, and pointed out a window. A family was walking down their drive. She swam to the top of the tank, and perched on a rock.

Liam was obviously angry that his wife hadn't agreed with him. Instead of acting on his anger he plastered a bright smile on his face and motioned for Jack to take off his headphones and gloves. With a small sigh, Jack teleported his items back to his room. Blessing also began to smile pleasantly and Liam motioned for his son to do the same. They had to be the perfect family otherwise no one would ever allow Liam to be mayor of Skyline.

Kiache hated the fake smiles, the fake love. It stretched her heart and made it miss the warmth and love of her family. So, she swam to the top of her tank, and curled up on a rock ledge.

The dinner passed on like any other one. A three course meal followed by dessert. Jack smiled pleasantly and avoided touching the soup that one of the maids set in front of him. Despite his greatest efforts, by the time the maid came to pick up the bowl, ice had formed at the surface of the soup. His father discussed the fishing industry with a man and talked about legalizing free mermaid capture for all, even the poor; while Jack did his best not to frown. His smiled slipped for a fraction of a second but that was about it. He talked to other young ladies and men his age and by the time everyone left, Jack's muscles around his lips were twitching with fatigue. His lips had begun to turn light purple as he got cold again. He needed to change into better clothes. But first he wanted to know if he had actually gotten the free hours. He had a vague idea of what he would do with them. He glanced up to the hidden door that led to the room that gave the fish tank a spot where the mermaid could sit and eat out of the water.

Kiache listened to them speak of Mer capture with a pained expression. When needed she did flips, showed herself, but other than that she hid away up high. Once all the guests were gone, she heard the Devil Lady say he could do whatever within the house for an hour or so, and he would have his three tomorrow.

Jack nodded and walked away. Liam spoke to his back as his child walked away. "Make sure to take the history audio courses after the hour is up. Otherwise there won't be any going out tomorrow or the day after."Jack growled lightly, he already knew that, his father didn't have to say it. With graceful footsteps, Jack disappeared down the long hallways and into his large room. Well, to normal people that is. Jack's parents believed it to be the smallest room in the house. His room was kept well heated, normally at around 80 degrees fahrenheit unless Jack was super cold in which case he would just say the degrees he wanted his room to be set at and it would change. Jack had a queen sized canopy bed that was faced towards his hologram displayer which was currently making realistic tropical fish swim around his room. Speaking of which, Jack's room was decorated to be like a forest meeting the ocean. he had painted the room's scenery himself. The bay window gave him a good view of the city below along with the Unknown. Jack quickly changed back into his regular apparel as he slipped out of his room. Knowing exactly where he was going to go.

Once all the guests were gone, Kiache slipped out of her top, and shook out her hair. Much better. She heard someone opening up the passageways between tanks, so she had spaces to move around in. It still was not nearly enough.
