Jack's eyes caught on the mermaid who seemed to be motioning for him to take off his headphones? That was odd. He had been told that the mermaid maid no contact with humans unless they commanded her to do something. Tapping a button on the side of his headphones, they automatically dropped down so they hung around his neck. He could vaguely hear the music on the edge of his hearing. Walking over to the tank, he pulled on his gloves. The most "iced" parts of his body were his nose, mouth and hands. The slightest movement could make the tank freeze if he didn't wear his gloves. He met the mermaid at the bottom of the tank and watched with a curious expression.

She sang a part of the song that he had been playing before, her voice sweeter and smoother than any human singer. She sang part of it, before softly tapping the glass, adding a beat. She then brushed her fins along to make more sounds, sort of like the vibrations of a guitar, all while singing. It was not the same as his music, but it was Mer music. Well, Mer with a bit of improvisation. If she was home, she would have shells and stones to use to make a beat, and the fish and the clams and the dolphins would join, making wild music. But here was a tank. After a little while of that, she stopped, and looked at the boy to see if he liked it.

Jack watched wide eyed, his grey eyes turning an almost white in color. He was surprised. Startled even. The mermaid never spoke to anyone, interacted with anyone. Yet here she was. Recreating the song that played though Jack's headphones.

Kiache pointed to him, "Name?" She mouthed, as her words wouldn't be able to be heard well. She would be able to hear him, though. He was able to hear her song because she wanted him too, so he did. If he would go to the top of the tank, they could talk, perhaps, but Kiache didn't know if she was brave enough to do that.

This whole thing shocked Jack, his skin turning slightly paler and the temperature in the tank probably dropped a bit too. Her turned his head for a moment, just to make sure no one was watching, they would probably be 'excited' that the mermaid was actually talking to someone then proceed to drag her out of the tank and make her sit there till she did something. "It's Jack," he spoke quietly, his mouth pointed towards the ground. Again, his mouth was one of the parts of his body that could cause a lake to freeze over. Let alone a small fish tank made for a mermaid.

Kiache positioned herself to where her back was facing the other humans. She held her hands a few inches apart, and murmured something, closing her eyes as she focused. A small fire flickered into existence between her hands, the color a deep blue-green. "Fire," She mouth to him, letting the flame disappear. She then pointed to the clam shells lining the bottom of the tank. Within a week of arriving, she had been a flurry of activity, lining all the tanks and passageways with shells. She had seen how the water froze around the boy, and wanted to keep safe. In each of the shells, was a small flicker of the flame. That kept her tank from freezing over. Plus, she put charms on the tanks to prevent it from freezing. To the boy -Jack- she mimed being cold, then shook her head. The tank would not freeze.

It took awhile for Jack to understand. He hadn't known about the mermaid's power to create underwater fire, that was pretty cool. Soon the realization came over him. He whispered softly as to not draw attention to himself. "So the tank can't freeze? I was wondering why it wasn't freezing and I thought Liam had put a heater in or something. That's pretty smart, I mean, not that I didn't think you were smart or anything! I've read a lot about mermaids and stuff so I knew your intelligence level is actually a lot higher than us lowly humans and all. Which is why, if anything you guys should be the ones taking us off the land and throwing us in horribly small fish tank. That's what I think at least, sorry if I offended you." His breath came out in small puffs of white clouds, that were visible even to the human eye. He pulled away from the tank, and almost immediately these breath puffs disappeared. He only had taken two steps back but he was already feeling much warmer.

Kiache giggled, bubble escaping from her mouth. She nodded about how the tank wouldn't freeze, and slapped her fins against the tank as a quick goodbye before shooting off. A few moments later, Diabolus Domina came in. She was in the Mater place in the Dominus Familia, although she did not act like it. She has white hair, sharp, sharp features, and hard black eyes. Kiache did not like her.

Jack waved the mermaid goodbye before turning around. Josie's figures appearing in the room. Jack unlike many other children called his parents only by their first name and never referred to them as anything other than the people who somewhat took care of him. He stayed away from Josie, not wanting to talk to anyone right now. His white eyes slowly changing back to grey.

Josie sauntered around, knowing that she had command here just inches behind her husband. Their word was law. She looked at the mermaid in the tank, and gave a barracuda smile. "Jack! Good, you are in the suit. If you behave tonight, I'll give you three hours of ya not watching the tracker."
