Jack looked very, very interested in what Kiache was saying. Now that was something he hadn't known for sure. He looked rather surprised too, she would show him her world? That would be amazing obviously but it wouldn't ever be possible. Even if he knew how to swim, even if he knew how to control his powers, he would still freeze the water or at least make it deathly cold. A hint of sadness in his gaze before quickly turning into more interest. "Wow, that's kind of cool."

"Sad," Kiache noted. "I would show all my home, if I could. Show them what they are slowly killing. And how we are just as living as they are." Small almost tears showed in her eyes, but Kiache refused to let them fall. "I miss my home."

Suddenly, Jack's voice turned soft and more soothing. The soft side of him coming forth. "I know Kiache. I'm so sorry, it must've been horrible. I promise you, I'll get you and the rest of the merfolk out of captivity, I'll show the world that you guys have emotions and thoughts too. I promise I'll do it." Jack wasn't lying, he had to do that. He had to be useful in something that would help Kiache's people out.

Kiache smiled sadly, "Tis will take more than one to undo the harm. Even if that one tries his best..." With those simply words, Kiache put a hand to her breast and pulled, violent red strings coming from her chest. "See." She said in a soft voice, "My home."The red strings of blood twirled together, forming colored pictures of the underwater home of the Mer. It wasn't like any movies, with a palace tall and grand. It was the ocean itself, with coral structures, rock hanging, seaweed curtains that swayed with the current. And they were happy. Sure, there were few, but they all swam together - the Mer with fins, the Mer with claws. Ones with tentacles. And the children laughed and played. The home of the Royal family did not stand out because it was the biggest, or the best, but was identified by the smiling family out front. The Rulers, one giving out clams, and the other listening to the problems of their people. And the small Mer, the one who sang to the sad, and put flowers behind small baby Mers ears and lovingly kissed their heads.

Jack looked shocked, his eyes widening. "W-wow, it's beautiful. I'm so sorry you aren't there, I'm sorry we humans suck." He sighed softly and continued to look at the beautiful scene made of Kiache's blood, which in itself was amazing.

"That tis me," Kiache said, pointing to the small Mer. "The year before I was captured. And my parents." Kiache silently pondered for a moment, "And you do not... suck... though I do not know exactly what that means. You are good. Other humans are bad, but they think it's right. I don't blame them."

Jack didn't smile but it was the closest you could possibly get. "Yea, I mean I'm still horrible, I'm sorry. I wish I was more useful to you." Jack said this easily, he wasn't afraid to admit that he was weak, useless most of the time. For once, he wished he was more useful.

Kiache simply shrugged. "Would you like to know anything? About my home? I'm happy to share, if you want. Or you could go to that Unknown? place." Kiache offered looking at her fins.

It took Jack awhile to respond, trying to think. Of course he wanted to stay with Kiache but he also really wanted to go back out into the Unknown. Finally, he decided on asking one last, simple question. "Did you have siblings?"

Kiache nodded, "10 other siblings that I know of. Maybe more, by now, maybe less. All younger than I." There was a look both sad and happy on her face. She missed them dearly, but it was nice to think about them.
