Baelfire spotted a deer and dropped to the ground. He started stalking it creeping forward slowly. When he was almost right on top of it he pounced. He dug his teeth into the neck puncturing the main vien and killing it.

The deer had put up a fight, but eventually, it gave up and died. The hunting party howled with pride.
Echo's ear perked up as she heard distance howling, it was normal to hear howling whenever one of the two packs took down a large meal.

Baelfire smirked. Knowing it would make his dad mad, Bae lifted his head to the sky and howled. His tail wagged as he spread out his wings and took to the sky. He knew he was playing a dangerous game but he didn't care.

Two of the wolves from the hunting party started to drag to deer back to the camp, a few stayed behind. "Baelfire! What are you doing!? You're not allowed to fly during the day!" One wolf said.
Echo wondered if Baelfire was part of the howling wolves, she would have to ask him later. As she thought to herself her mother started to guide her back to the den "What- Mom!"
"That howling sounds close if those wolves decide to get curious you can't be seen" Her mother said

"What my dad doesn't know wont kill him." Was all Baelfire could respond with. He looked around and almost fell out of the sky when he spotted his dad staring up at him. Baelfire quickly landed only to have his father stand in front of him. Bae had his eyes on the ground but looked up to see a disappointed look on his dads face. "Back to the den now." His dad ordered. Starting to slink off, Baelfire looked at his dad, but continued on. His head was low as he entered the pack flanked by his dad and the rest of the hunting party. Sighing, he entered the den and sat down staring at his paws. "What were you thinking you could have been seen!"His dad yelled. "I can't help it if I don't want to be locked in a den all the time."Bae mumbled.

Echo laid down in her moss bed, her back to the den entrance. Every small thing that happened during the day made her parent's always send her into the den where it was 'safe. She absolutly hated it, why did her parents have to be so wary of everything? Why did she have to be born 'special'. Echo sighed, at least she wasn't alone and maybe tonight she could vent her frustrations to Baelfire.

Baelfire padded to the back of the den and laid down. His dads voice following him as he went. "You can't be recless! What do you think would have happened if the enemy saw you?" His dad yelled. Bae snapped and getting up facing his father started to growl. "How will we know what will happen if I'm never let out?! And they don't have to be the enemy!" He stormed towards his father planning to go out the entrance. "They killed your mother!" Once outside the den, Baelfire took to the sky and flew to a tree on the boarder of the two packs. Landing on a branch, he laid down and curled up deciding he would wait to see Echo.

It wasn't until sunset that Echo was finally able to leave the camp. Ignoring her mother and father's warnings about 'staying safe' she flew off to the border. A few minutes later Echo landed at the base of the tree that bordered the two packs "Huh, maybe I'm early"

Baelfire stood at the sound of a wolf far below. "pst up here.” he called down hoping it was Echo. Fear of his father waiting on the ground in the under brush kept him from going down to the ground.
