"Believe me when I say that I have thought about it. I can't leave my pack though." Bae said with a sigh. He knew that his pack needed him and they would need a new leader soon.

"Hmm, now that you put it that way...." Echo thought for a moment, most of the pack were just like her parents but the young ones...they understood how she felt trapped, and she couldn't leave them. "Even if most of my pack acts like my parents...I don't think I could leave the young ones"

"They are the ones who need us to lead the most." Bae looked up at the stars. He missed his mom and wished she was there. She would have fixed everything and understood how he felt. She was gone though and he was left with his dad.

Echo nodded "Though, I am scared of the thought of being Alpha someday," She said as looked up at the stars too. Sometimes, when Echo felt lost she would always look to the stars to calm her mind. "It's almost time for us to go, neither one of us want to be kidnapped if our parents try and find us"

"I think I might stay here looking at the sky for a little longer." Bae said as he glanced at Echo. He laid down and sighed. I honestly don't think I would mind your pack kidnapping me." He laughed, but it came out more of a giggle.

Echo chuckled "Well you could just cross the border if you ever wanted to" She got up and stretched. Echo licked hid cheek "I'll see you tomorrow night" Echo smiled and flew out of the tree and started to head back to camp. After a few minutes Bae heard a stick snap on his pack's side of thr border

Baelfire's ears pricked at the sound. He peered down the tree to see who is was. Bae crept down the tree so he could get a better look. It was his only friend Lanthe. Bae jumped out of the tree, landing infront of Lanthe and scaring him. Baelfire let out a laugh. "Let me guess my dad sent you thinking I would follow you back to the pack and not him?" He said it more as a remark then a question. Lanthe looked shocked but gave a quick nod. "Plus I wanted to see this she wolf you seem to like so much." "Don't tell me you told my dad." "Of course not!" Lanthe exclaimed a little offended. "Well good. Also you'll have to wait til tomorrow. She went back to her pack." Baelfire said as he walked past Lanthe back to his own pack.

On her way to the camp, Echo hunted a rabbit so it seemed like she was doing something while she was out. She looked back out at the camp entrance and smiled, she had finally found someone she loved. Echo yawned and then headed into the den to get some sleep.

He entered the pack with a smile on his face. Baelfire saw his father but bypassed him to the den without a fight. He forced a yawn so it seemed like he was tired. His dad didn't seem as mad as early and hopefully, the whole thing will blow over by morning.

The next day, Echo woke up and started her day. Once again, she had to watch over the young ones. "Please Father, let me join the border patrol just this once!" "I said no Echo!" Her father said "You will be easily identified by the other pack! They could kill you or take you away from us and I won't have it" "Please...just this once...how am I going to be Alpha if I've never been on any border patrols?" Echo said as she watched her Dad think about it for a few moments. "Fine, but stay in the middle of the patrol and keep your wings down," He said sternly Echo smiled and nodded "Thank you, I will" She left the den and joined the patrol as it was leaving Finally, I get to leave camp during the day.
