Balefire slept soundly through the night. He woke up late afternoon and looked around the den. His father was already gone. Bae got up And looked out the entrance. He saw several of the pack members moving around doing their jobs.

Echo was wide awake in the den getting lectured by her both her parents. "It's just a sprain, I got it from falling out of a tree" She protested.

"You should know better Echo!" Stone growled "We've told you multiple times that flying up into trees and eating your prey is dangerous. I honestly don't know why you picked up that habit." Echo's mother just nodded along.

Baelfires dad came padding up. "You cut it a little close last night." His dad scolded him. Baelfire looked at his dad. "You can't keep me protected forever."Baelfire pushed past his dad. "Your not supposed to be out during the day." His dad growled. Bae just continued on not listening.

"Well since your injured, you can watch over the young ones for the rest of the day" Echo's mother said.
Echo sighed, not even wanting to fight anymore. She left the den and headed to where she saw the young ones playing. Echo took a deep breath and let it out, she just had to get through the day, and then she could finally have a real talk with Baelfires.

Baelfire smiled at the little pups and padded into his best friends den. He sighed and plopped down on the floor.

"Rough night?" Bae's friend asked.

"You have no idea. I met this she wolf and-"Baelfire started to say but was cut off.

"You met a she wolf? Rouge or from our pack?"

"Niether from the other pack but she's different."

"Yay! Echo's come to watch us!" One of the young ones said.
Echo just smiled "Come on young ones, let's play hunters and guards," She said, knowing it was their favorite game. "Plus if you guys do well I can help you with your assessments"
The young ones cheered and began to play.

"Better not let your father hear you." His friend told him. Baelfire just shook his head. His dad entered the den. "Since you want to be out, you can help the hunters on the far side away from the enemy." Baes dad told him. Baelfire padded out of the den. He took to the air knowing his father wouldn't like it.

Echo smiled at the young ones, they always made her day better whenever her parents were overbearing. She split the pups into two groups and they began to play the game. Echo jumped into the game a few times, but whenever she was just watching she kept an eye on the time.

Baelfire scouted the air and spotted the hunting party. He landed scaring a couple. "Nice of you to join us." One of them said. Baelfire ignored them though and took the lead.

A deer was wondering about near Baelfire's hunting party.


Echo started thinking about the young ones, some of them seemed like they would make good hunters. She would have to tell her father of this.
