Echo opened her wings a little, getting to ready to fly off into a tree in case a fight broke out between Baelfire and his father. Or in case his father tried to attack her, she wasn't a very skilled fighter so she would be at a disadvantage.

For the first time, Lyric lost his composure. He looked taken aback at his sons spitful words. "Get back to the den now." Anger flared in Baelfires eyes. He shook his head and took another step back from his father. "No. Sorry but no." Lyric lost control. He pounced at Baelfire causing him to hit the ground hard. Lyric pinned his son. "You will not disobey the orders of your father or your alpha." Baelfire pushed his father off and pinned him down. His mouth hovered over his fathers throat. "Then I wont be part of you pack anymore." He growled.

Echo jumped back when Lyric had pounced on Baelfire. She flew up to one of the lowest branches on the nearest tree. Although the fight didn't last as long as she thought, Echo stayed in the tree for safety. She was shocked to hear Baelfire say that to his father.

Baelfire let his father up. He backed up and sat down. "You don't mean that." Lyric's voice was calm but strong. "I can't lose you too. Please Bae. I can't lose you. I already lost your mother." Bae was shocked. Not only to hear his father beg but his father hadn't called him Bae in a long time. It had always been Baelfire. "I can't go back if eveything is just gonna be how it was." "I'm just trying to keep you safe. From them." Lyric gestured towards the other pack as he said this.

She watched quietly from the branch, almost feeling a little offended when Baelfire's father mentioned her pack. They weren't bad, this whole war had started over a prey and border dispute in the first place anyway. Echo just stayed quiet, she didn't think it was her place to speak between these two. She didn't want to be attacked

"I don't need to be kept safe anymore. I'm not a pup." Baelfire said. The anger was starting to slip away into pain. "I can see that now." Lyrics voice droped all the authority he used to carry in it. "Your mother wouldn't want any of this. She wouldn't want you to leave she wouldn't want you to be afraid." "Don't talk about her. You don't know what she would have wanted. No one does." Baelfire's voice cracked as he said this. The pain grew stronger as a tear slipped down his face. He lifted his head to the sky and let out a frustrated painful howl.

Echo hopped down from the branch she was on. She walked up to Baelfire and nuzzled him gently as she heard the pain in his howl. She wanted to comfort him at this moment

Baelfire nuzzled her back. Not caring that his father was there watching. "I have to go." He whispered into her ear. "Maybe tomorrow night I can meet your parents." He whispered again. It was too low for his dad to hear any of it. Lyric turned back towards his pack.

"Maybe" Echo said, she was hesitant on telling them cause she didn't want to lose her privileges of going out during the night. "Please be safe" She licked his ear and watched him walk away.

"I will." Baelfire said before following his dad back to the pack. Lyric resumed his normal posture. "Stand up straight and tall." He told Bae. Bae did out of habit. He went to the den quietly and laid in the far back.
