Jack was shocked by the sudden swiftness of Kiache. But if anything, it made him feel lighter. His tail fanned out behind him and it's full colors were shown. As they moved, he did his best to move it, just a little bit. A slight tingling started from his waist down and soon he could actually feel it which was a start. He also tried to snap off the bracelet on his arm. It was worse than Kiache's. Being made out of metal and solid fibers that would grow with him but never slip off. It couldn't be taken off with any tool known to man but sometimes powers worked on it. Jack knew that the locating chip wasn't water proof, since they'd known soon after he was born that he'd never be able to go into the water without freezing. So the thing wasn't working at all. But he still didn't like the feeling of it.

Quinn wouldn't have pegged Kiache as the athletic type, but as she looked closer at the Mer, she saw the sign. Of course, the muscle had degraded as time wore on, but the muscles in her arms weren't straining to pull them, and her tail might have once been a true thing to behold. Quinn knee they were going really fast, and that was with Kiache pulling two people that weighed more than her, and not being at her physical peak.

Jack didn't question Kiache's fast swimming and the amount of weight she was moving at such a fast pace. After so much research, Jack knew that Mers were incredibly strong even out of the ocean. They just tended to give up hope after awhile and become more docile. A wave of guilt crashed over Jack, he'd left before he could ever really help the other Mers. Which was what he had planned to do when he got older. Now that he wasn't human, it probably wasn't possible.

With Kiaches fast pace, they still got nowhere close to the main Mer kingdom, because it was deep under the water and far out to sea, because despite what humans thought, the Mer were smart. They did, however, come across a small village. Kiache stopped them, and swam down to the gate, speaking to Jack and Quinn, "When we come to a new town, it is a show of peace to come through the gate, instead of just swimming in." From here Kiaxhe released their hands, and straightened her head, lifting her chin proudly. She went up to the gate and blew a little Mer fire into a conch shell.

Jack listened intently to Kiache and the interesting ways of her people. Gates in his world were used for protection only. Dividing the rich from the pooir and keeping the elite safe from another flood. It was something everyone had to accept by the time they were five. It's just how things were in the human world. When Kiache let go of Jack's hand, he tried swimming. Nottoo much. But there was movement this time. His fin gave one strong swoosh before just giving out. Which was an upgrade from before when it wasn't working at all. He smiled weakly, the success was enough to grant him a small bit of happiness before it gently left him and he wasn't smiling anymore.

Although gates may seem silly, they hold down a protective dome that keeps out humans. This, Quinn and Jack did not know, but Kiache did. Soon, there was an official at the door, breathless and frantic, "The Princess," he breathed, "It is you!" The royals had a different fire than normal Mer. It was nothing special, but was blue instead of green. This the officials of the town saw, and this the officials knew - the princess was back.

Jack of course, didn't know any of this. He just watched awkwardly behind Kiache. He had had to paddle back with his hands after the single movement and it was really awkward trying not to float away with the currents. To be honest, the boy was still in awe, he had loved the ocean since he was little and seeing so many of he things that he had only dreamed of seeing was disarming and amazing and made him feel vulnerable at the same time. He was also mesmerized by the Mer town in front of him. Everything was so dangerous yet beautiful. His light blue hair drifted with the currents and his white eyes couldn't show any sort of emotion anymore since he literally had no color in his iris and his pupil was the only color in his eyes. He did look a little eerie. Being so pale with the shock of blue hair and tail.

The group was ushered into the town, Kiache taking Quinn and Jacks hands in hers. Privately she promised them that once they were safe, she would teach them how to swim properly, and begin lessons on Mer culture and etiquette.

Jack nodded to Kiache and kept a firm hold on Kiache's hand. His eyes glancing around though he tried to look as unnoticeable as possible. After years on land where he was looked at like a circus monkey since he was the mayor's son, he would really rather be more quiet down here. Air would be nice if that was how this underwater life would go. Perhaps it would be a bit more peaceful than the land one.

They were brought to what would be the town hall on land. It was a semi-large cavern with multiple escape exits, decorated with strings of pearls, shells, and colorful lava orbs. Kiache privately spoke with the officials, but refused to disclose any information without scribes. All of Met history was documented, and the story must be told in its fullest form.
