Arya Alastor, the man said his name was. He struck an odd figure with an odd stature, had rather concerning stains upon his attire, and noticeable scars which told of his misfortunes, past or present unknown but foretelling of his trials in life. While unarmed, she stood defensively near those either asleep or still waking from their slumber. The way the man spoke gave her the impression of a con-man or someone with an alternative motive. It made her rather uncomfortable, especially with the completely unwarranted confidence he strode into camp with. A person of his demeanor would never put themselves in harms way unless they were certain that they had a means to escape or they were that desperate... Judging by his state, it was the latter. She eyed the man with empathy, it wasn't long ago that she stood in his position. She was silent as Hope, Elora, and Amara practically interrogated the man. If he was right then he had a skill they could most certainly make use of... But his very aura screamed of something hidden beneath the surface. Her attention was caught when Elara whispered to Amara. While she couldn't make make out what was being said, but judging by Elara's blatant annoyance, she was beginning to reach the end of her rope. Arya frowned but held her tongue for now, she wasn't sure what was said but knowing Elara violence was most likely the answer. "Trigger happy asshole", he muttered to herself.

The little spitfire did not look happy as she whispered something to the blonde. He took a quick glance at some of the others. A few appeared to still be asleep while others were beginning to stir. He then caught sight of a young dark haired woman toward the back. Giving her a small smile as a silent hello, he turned back to the bright haired belle, and the blonde. "If you really don't believe me you are free to look, as I said before I have nothing to hide." While they may not trust him he hoped that at least one of them would get curious enough to look. Then perhaps they would lower their weapons and he could speak to one of them properly.

Amara's eyes kept narrowed before she motioned for someone to step forward and look in the bag. She still wsnt too sure about this man, walking into their camp like he owned the place and accusing them of being the rude ones. She saw movement from the corner of her eye and saw James walking over to the bag, glancing around in it. "Not seeing much that could harm us, but the book on plants is odd since quite a few could be used as poisons" James said rather bluntly. He tossed the bag back to Alistar before Killian made his way towards Arya. "Are you alright" Killian asked her. It was no secret Killian seemed to want to keep Arya safe, though Amara didnt know why, but she wasnt going to ask.

Elara kept her bow raised and aimed at the mans chest. "I still don't like it..." she muttered under her breath as she slowly lowered her bow. If he was gonna stand like that, then she was gonna take full advantage and try and get a good look at him. Or at least as good as she could without getting to close to him. Carefully taking a step towards him, she began to make a large arc around him. She kept her arrow notched and ready incase he did anything stupid. Unfortunately as she steadily continued her inspection, she didn't see anything else that could give them reason to kill him. Like he said, it appeared he had nothing to hide, but that still didn't mean that she trusted him in the slightest. The young man who had checked his satchel had a point, some of the plants could be used for poison. As she finished her inspection she came to stand near Amara again. After all, it was her choice whether or not to let him join.

As one of the young men who was rummaging through his bag and mentioned something about poisonous plants threw his satchel back over, he caught a flicker of movement next to the blonde. The bright haired belle was on the move. "Well if you were scavenging about all by yourself, wouldn't you want to know what was and wasn't safe to eat?" He questioned as he glanced at the young bright haired woman who was now circling him every now and again. She certainly seemed like one of the more suspicious ones. His attention then turned back to the blonde who seemed to be the leader of the whole operation as the little spitfire went to stand near her again. "I truly don't mean any harm to any you. Besides, not only am I good at skinning, and cutting, I'm also quite the cook, if I do say so myself. And as an added bonus, I'm can help with tracking, hunting and foraging. I suppose you could call me a jack of all trades." Alastor stated proudly. He had always loved things such as hunting and cooking, and liked to think of himself as quite the outdoorsmen. Hopefully they would find these qualities to be good enough to allow him in, or at least enough to let him leave alive and in one piece. Edited at May 7, 2021 06:19 PM by The Rift Seekers

Arya As Killian came up to her she settled down a bit. She didn't know why, but he just made her feel safer. Maybe it was because he was the only one she felt she could actually talk with and not feel patronized by. Killian was the only one she felt viewed her as someone important, and didn't poke at her all the time. He was simply kind, and a respectable man. Arya really appreciated him for that. "Are you alright?", he asked. Her frown shifted as she did her best to offer an impassive expression, but there was an obvious small grin. Internally she berated herself for even a hint of joy in the current situation. Some stranger walks upon the camp, and now whilst being held a blade point they interrogate him. She understood why, the World had grown dangerous since the Ring of Fire began, but did people have to react with violence? "I am fine Killian, just confused. We aren't cave men, so why are we even considering chasing this guy away? He is a person. A living being... If he poses a threat we could detain him or something... Right?", she ranted, her voice drifting to questioning. It didn't sit right on her conscience to turn the guy away. If they allow themselves to regress as a society and a people after a month of hardships then... She'll be damned. They were better than this, and the fact they were even contemplating this just disappointed her. But it was a different time now... They needed to look out for themselves to survive. Arya sighed in confusion as she rubbed her temples. Why did things get so difficult? She looked away from him, her dark eyes settling on the ground. "Killian, no matter what happens we can't just abandon the guy...", she said resolutely, but there was a hint of uncertainty. No, things haven't devolved to the point of no return. They still held onto their humanity, and they will. She will make sure of it, or she shall die in the process.

Tristan watched the people for a bit before zeroing in on Iris. she was hiding, so he assumed she was either afraid, or waiting to attack someone. he didnt know if he could help her at all, but he was willing to try. if she was afraid, he hoped that he could make her feel protected and help keep her safe. he didnt want to see anyone get hurt, but if he had to he would defend the innocent that were here. So he decided to silently go up behind Iris and crouch behind her, making sure that his body was covering her back. _______________________________________________________________ Alex did a bit of her own hiding. she was unsure about the situation and wanted to find out what was going on before she got too involved. she was worried that the wrong people would end up getting hurt, and she didnt want to have to fight anyone if she could avoid it. "We have plenty of others who could likely do just as good, if not better than you!" Elara called out harshly. She didn't like how this guy was stating things like he was the only one around that knew how to do them. Cooking for the others was one of her jobs and if he was allowed in and was assigned to cooking, then there may be a little 'accident' which may involve him loosing a few fingers or toes. Sadly though, if he did get accepted in, she knew attacking him without reason could get her in trouble. She also knew that he probably was the only one that could properly skin and cut things, plus he appeared to have the right knife for it. Speaking of which, it still laid a few feet away from Amara. Elara would be lying if she said she wasn't tempted to get a better look at it. So, taking a few steps forward, she carefully grabbed the blade by the hilt and carefully began to look it over.

Amara rolled her eyes. James had a point about the plants, but she guessed Alistar was right. "If you know about skinning and hunting, you would automatically know about the plants." She was still hesitant with this one. *Do I try to trust him, and risk the group* she thought. Finally lowered her bow and arrow, motioning for the others to lower their weapons. "If you step out of line, I won't hesitate to shoot you myself" she said. / Killian looked at Arya. "Well, he did barge in to our hide out. It was rather odd" he answered before he sighed. "Sounds like maybe he's getting a chance." He gave a shrug before he looked towards Amara and the new man. "I just worry he's dangerous."

Alastor let out a slight breath of relief as he moved to pick up his satchel from where the young man had tossed it back to him. He slipped the strap back over his head and shoulder as he allowed his smirk to grow ever so slightly. With slow steady movements he took a few large strides, now almost standing next to the little spitfire, who currently appeared to be inspecting his knife. Now that he was closer to her he could see her eyes much better, and much to his surprise, they were two opposit colors. One a gorgeous green and the other a vivid blue. He quickly turned his attention back to the blonde, hopefully before the little belle noticed he had been staring. Allowing his smirk to grow into a grin, and completely ignoring the plant comment, he simply stated. "Perfect! Where should I be starting?" Edited at May 7, 2021 10:01 PM by The Rift Seekers
