Arya

Her gaze left James as her black eyes settled on Elara. Of course she would have something to say. She closed her eyes and sighed for a moment, shaking her head. The question rang in her head, as she frowned and balled her hands into fists. She was practically trembling with fury, but was silent.

Since the world went up in flames and the group formed, Arya and Elara were at each other's throats. This was going to happen sooner or later, but she couldn't help but scowl. It was smart of Elara to call her out now in front of everyone, to put her on the spot with such a dilemma. Either she submitted and proved her loyalty to the group, or stuck to her morals and forsaken the group. She should have held her tongue, but she was much to furious to think clearly, Elara had finally pushed her to much. She opened her eyes, placing her glare on Elara.

"Fuck you", she said through gritted teeth.

'How dare she ask me something like this?', was the only thing that ruled her mind.

"You want my damn pick? I pick the side of Life! What the hell happened to you? WHERE IS YOUR HUMANITY?!?", she said, answering Elara's question with her own.

Amara glared at the girls as they seemed to be riled up. "Enough! I did what was best for the group, weather you like it or not. This is a lesson that needs to be learned by all. You either pull your weight, or your gone. I will not allow others a free ride when there is too little to go around as is. Do I male myself clear?" She watched as Iris and Killian nodded in agreement, though expected the others to still have issues.

Despite Amara's words, Elara was still boiling with rage. This wasn't about James to her anymore, she needed to set this girl straight. "YOU WANNA KNOW KNOW WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO ME?! ILL TELL YOU!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WAS THAT MY LIFE WAS NEVER A GODDAMNED BUNCH OF SUNSHINE AND FAIRYTALES!!!" She yelled as she began to marched up toward the young woman. The food would be fine for a minute, besides, there were others still by it who would likely notice if it was burning." YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE WORLD FOR THE FUCKED UP MESS IT ALWAYS WAS!!!!" Elara finally came to stop right in Arya's face." THIS....THIS IS THE WORLD YOU ALWAYS LIVED IN, YOU WERE JUST TO STUPID AND NAIVE TO SEE IT UNTIL NOW!!!SO YOU EITHER SUCK IT UP AND DEAL WITH IT OR YOU BURN WITH THE REST OF THE SOULS OF THE DAMNED WHO WERE TO WEAK TO MAKE IT!!!!" Elara then bared her teeth in an almost animalistic snarl as she growled out."So again I say.... take your damn pick..."

Arya

After Amara shared her piece it fell on deaf ears once Elara interrupted. Her words were harsh, but Arya took them, using them as fuel. Elara was always trying to cut her down, everything she said was full of shit. Elara was nothing but a mad dog, only loyal to the hand that feeds it. Amara was the leader, which was why Elara submits to her.

If Elara says she is naive, living in the clouds, and can't accept the World for what it is then let her be the ignorant fool.

She looked Elara dead in the eyes unafraid of the shouting girl. "Then I will burn...", was all Arya said grimly before turning and walking away.

'... But not before you', she thought.

Killian moved between the yelling women before he spoke. "Look, fighting over someone who wasn't willing to do the same for another isn't worth wasting your breath over." His voice was calm but stern. "It's obvious James didn't want to help, so why help him? Arya, if you got hurt, James would have just abandoned you. That's how people are now, and we don't even know what he was like before this. He could have been just the same. We need to help others who actually are grateful and willing to return it." His eyes were kind to her as he spoke. "But yelling at each other, won't help anything." He looked at Elara, assuming she was mostly still livid over Alastor bothering her.

Arya

She was doing her best to maintain her composure now that she gifted Elara an answer. Not the best one in the heat of the moment, but it felt right. Like she held some moral high ground over Elara, and that made her a better a better person. Yet she knew arguing with Elara was pointless. Arya knew she lost this battle, but the war clearly wasn't over. Her spirit was still in tact. Elara wouldn't tramp upon her.

As Killian spoke, his voice helped calm her some. She listened carefully to his words, trying to fight the desire to defend her point of view as she breathed. The argument over James was superficial at best, and was over before it began yet it still lingered in everyone else's minds. James wasn't the issue anymore, he was merely an outlet for Elara and her to clash. Killian was right, they didn't need to argue, it wouldn't help anything...

Arya froze, standing still several feet away from the group. She looked over each of their faces, trying to see their truths and honesty in the situation, until finally her eyes rested on Killian.

The only one in the group she truly trusted to be honest with her, to tell her the truth.

Her face contorted into one of deep consideration as she tired to understand his words even deeper. She was simply sad, and disappointed. Would James really have left her if she was injured? She tried to defend him. Would he really leave her to die? Were people really that heartless?

Has the World really gone that far in less than a month?

If so... Could the World ever be the same again?

She turned back around, her thoughtful face losing every ounce of shine and joy, not that the others could see it of course. Arya walked away in a mixture of shock and depression, knowing the answer wasn't what she wanted it to be.

Killian followed Arya before he spoke again. "I think you should hear this from me before Amara gets further upset" he said. He didn't give her much of a choice before he spoke. "James was always like this when he joined us. Amara tolerated it as much as she could before she knew he would be a danger to someone. Iris twisted her ankle really bad one day, and instead of trying to help her, he tried getting Amara and myself to leave her behind. We assumed it was just because of something stupid like him thinking her ankle would slow us down, but because Amara could teach Iris a few things useful without needing to be on her feet, Amara and I helped support Iris to our next spot. Even after we fed James a few times. He still was so willing to just throw her away over a twisted ankle. That's why Amara had to finally exile him. He's just not meant to be part of the group being so cold hearted" he told her, keeping his voice low and even. "It's not because Amara wanted to, but it's what was best. I know you want to see the good in people, but not everyone is as good as what you think. I'm sorry." He started to head back to the small spot he claimed as his sleeping area and simply waited after that for Amara to check to see if breakfast was ready for them to eat.

Iris has been shaken with the whole ordeal, and hearing Killian tell Arya about how James was before the others joined, it only made her look down. She still had to keep her ankle wrapped due to the pain, though she didn't limp and could run short distances. She rubbed her arms before she sat on a rock, looking at her feet.

Alex went over to the food stash area to put away the things she had found on the scouting trip. she was still upset over what had happened between her and James, but she didnt let anyone know how she felt. she sighed, knowing that she wouldnt be so messed up now if she hadnt tried to help him._________________________________________________________________________Tristan watched as Iris went to sit down. he could tell that she seemed upset, so he went over and sat next to her silently. he wanted to be there in case she wanted someone to talk to, or just someone to sit with.

Elara huffed slightly, not out of annoyance, but out of disgust. That girl just gave the wrong answer, at least in her book it was wrong. If she wanted to burn so badly then so be it. She had half a mind to try and convince Amara to go and throw her out along with James, but she kept her mouth shut as she turned to quickly return to cooking up breakfast. There was usually a line where the people who went out the most and did the most work ate first, and those who stayed in the most and didn't do as much ate last. This helped give the harder workers more food. Elara often chose to eat last, although she often didn't eat breakfast at all. She had began to noticeably loose weight, and with her tank top being rather fitting, she had to start wearing her flannel that was normally tied around her waist to help keep it hidden. Today would likely be no different, and chances were that she wouldn't eat till later in the evening. To her, it was buissness as usual, sh had made it this far, so what were a few pounds lost anyway? It was better then risking others going hungry, and she didn't need it. Others came first, she refused to let someone else go hungry. So she carefully scrapped the cooked meat and dandelions into an old pot that they had found. It was one of the few useful things that they had managed to find. She then looked over to Amara and gave her a quick wave to let her know that breakfast was ready and she got ready with some extra pieces of flat metal to put the food on and give to people.

Alastor had been watching the scene in silence. He had to admit, the young woman that Elara had been yelling at was bold with her answer, but it certainly was not the smartest one she could have given. Calling the woman out infront of everyone was a clever move on the little belle's part. It kept the other woman from being able to try and move around the question like she had attempted to earlier when she answered Elara with a question of her own. Although Elara showed persistence when she came back around to the same question. He adored watching the fire that seemed to burn in the little spitfires eyes. She was passionate, he could already tell just from watching her. Although as he watched the two seperate, he couldn't help but wonder what she meant when she said that her life wasn't all fairytales. What could the little belle have possibly been through to make her this fierce? Whatever it was, he intended to find out, he needed to know exactly what made darling little Elara tick.
