So, uh. I have so much planned. I think the best place to start is that BB is starting near the end of the kids' winter break from school. Anyways. Garvin and Max end up close just because of how much trouble Garvin gets into. Not on purpose, but basically- Garvin ends up in a fight very first day he shows up at the school. And then fights just keep happeninh. That's all you need to know for now about that. Anyways. Garvin is also still part of the sketchy gang/mafia thing during all this. And not much changes there, to be honest. Anyways. Garvin does eventually leave the foster home, because of course he does. And he leaves around the same time that he's meant to be leaving the sketchy gang/mafia as per his usual timeline. Which also means that this is around the time he first meets Devery. Which isn't really their first meeting. Since it's more of just the first time Garvin shows up at Devery's bar. Anyways. July Arc shows up and Max has obviously been looking for Garvin since he just disappeared/ran away. Fun. Fun. Anyways. Devery, as per usual in each timeline, ends up finding Garvin in not so good shape in an alleyway. Hospital visit, yay. But oops, a day or two later, Devery recognizes the description Max is spewing to some other people to be of that same kid. So obviously Devery helps out. Anyways. Max basically adopts Garvin at that point. He doesn't take him back to the Johnsons. Nope. Garvin's staying at his house. For a good while, this is fine. Anyways. The sketchy gang/mafia end up seeing Garvin and Max. Which, you know. They were told Garvin was leaving. And they'd told him that they wouldn't bother Garvin if he showed up again, unless he was talking to a cop. Which, you know, at that point, he's a liability/risk to them. Anyways. Things go down. Things happen. Oh boy. No worries though, Max is awesome. That's all. - Hopefully the prompt turns out good lol |

Finished the prompt! Shorter than I would've wanted but also longer than I kind of expected it to be lol Enjoy! - Regrets Characters; Mergen. Devery, Garvin, Lysander, Vigge, Kalei, and Helge mentioned. Prompt; Whumpril Day 11 - Can’t Sleep Word Count; 730. TWs; Lots of swears. Self-deprecation. Uh… Some implications of suicide/past suicide. It’s never outright mentioned or said though. Notes; Takes place during the July Arc of AFCS. Basically like a first draft. *~*~*~* Mergen lied in bed, staring at the wall next to them. As hard as they were trying to fall asleep, as much as they wanted to fall asleep… They just couldn’t seem to manage it. Their mind just kept drifting back to their friend, to what was happening. What had been happening, apparently, according to Devery, at least. And had been happening for who knew how long. Just. A long time. Apparently. They weren’t sure. They didn’t know. They hadn’t known. That was the issue though. They should’ve known. They should’ve. - They knew what someone destroying their life looked like. They knew what giving up looked like. And it didn’t matter that Devery had denied that being what was happening, because they knew. They’d seen it before, damn it, they’ve been on the other side of it before too. They’d lost friends to it before. And fucking somehow, they hadn’t noticed or known it was happening to another one of their friends until today. And not just that– But it was a yearly fucking thing? Normal enough that Devery, who was supposed to be Garvin’s best friend, wasn’t worried at fucking all. - They were pissed, to say the least. Furious in that way that always managed to shove past the dull numbness that seemed so permanent the rest of the time. At Devery, at themself, and– Fuck it, they were even mad at Garvin. For hiding it, for not telling them, for letting Devery think that it’s normal, that it isn’t something to be worried about. But that wasn’t really fair to him. They wouldn’t tell anyone if it were them instead, they shouldn’t be upset at him for not telling them. But that didn’t change the fact that they were. They wished it did but all it did was make them more upset at themself. - And, really, they weren’t going to get to sleep tonight. Were they? At least it didn’t seem like they would. Not with how worked up over this they were getting. They almost wanted to go back to Devery’s apartment, keep an eye on Garvin just so they knew that someone was making sure nothing happened. But, well, if Lysander had told the truth back then… Then that hadn’t helped Vigge. Hadn’t mattered, hadn’t changed anything. And as much as they wanted to believe Lysander had lied, if that had been true. It wouldn’t matter if they went back to Devery’s apartment or not. - They didn’t want to risk Lysander being right. Mergen really didn’t want that absolute fucking bullshit to be true. Their friendship had ended because they’d thought it was a lie. All of their old group had broken up because of that fucking lie. They weren’t willing to find out it was actually true. Especially not like that. Not by losing another friend. They’d rather toss and turn in bed all fucking night, unable to sleep with how pissed they were, than go back to Devery’s apartment just to find out that it didn’t matter if they were keeping an eye on him or not. - Because, damn it, they were apparently a coward that couldn’t face the idea they might be wrong about anything… It made them feel like a shitty friend, if they were being honest. None of it was right, or good, or remotely okay in any fucking capacity. They were no better than Lysander, no better than Kalei. At least Kalei had tried to talk Helge down. They knew he had, that was just how Kalei was. There was no way he wouldn’t have tried. They weren’t too sure what all had happened then, they hadn’t been there. But it wasn’t like with fucking Lysander, who hadn’t even told any of them what had happened until after a fucking week had already passed. That shit hadn’t been right to do, to any of them. - Mergen hated that they couldn’t talk to either of them. Hated that they weren’t willing to get over themself and be there for the friends they had now. Hated that they’d rather do nothing so they could keep denying that there was any truth, any good reasoning behind what Lysander had said to them. But they never had been very good at changing the way they thought. So they’d just have to stew in their hatred and stop complaining about getting no sleep at night. |
