Hawk's Nest
Hawk's Nest grins (if wolves can even do that-). "Thanks! We found their burrow on the way back. They weren't smart enough to make it too small or deep for us to stick our heads through." He notices a tuft of rabbit fur stuck in his teeth and huffs, blowing it out. "Other than that, it was pretty calm on our end of the border. What about yours?"

Crooked Teak

Crooked Teak nodded and stood when Stargazer did. "I look forward to hearing your decision," he told her respectfully. "I hope I've been of some assistance." He dipped his head slightly and turned to walk out of the cave to find Night Hawk. He spotted him fairly easily, though he nearly blended in with the forest. "Night Hawk!" he barked. "You're coming hunting with me." He didn't even bother trying to make it sound like a suggestion.

Seeing Silent Water sitting motionless, Crooked Teak turned his attention to him while he waited for Night Hawk to come over. "If you don't have anything to do," he told Silent Water, "you can make yourself useful by joining us on our hunting trip." He beckoned to Silent Water and scanned the area to see if there were any other wolves loafing about. It seemed that everybody else was busy, as they should be.

Looking at Night Hawk and Silent Water, Crooked Teak sized them up in his mind. It would likely be one of them who became Panshea. Seeing both lazing around camp like helpless pups didn't encourage Crooked Teak much. He hoped whoever was picked would be more motivated as Panshea than they were right now. Without a word to them, Crooked Teak turned to stride into the forest, obviously expecting them to follow.

Hawk's Nest
Seeing Crooked Teak's hunting party leaving, Hawk's Nest rushes over to them, hoping they won't leave before he gets close. He's still filled with the thrill of the hunt after his little rabbit chase, and he wants to impress Crooked Teak. Plus, deep down, he feels like his disability puts him in a position where Stargazer may see him as a liability and either lump him in with the elder wolves of the pack or force him to be a Panshea. Either one sounds like a nightmare to Hawk's Nest, so he wants to prove himself useful. Desperately.
"Hey, wait up!" He almost barrels into Night Hawk with how fast he was going, but manages to skirt around the other wolf and stop in front of the group instead. "Our patrol is done. Can I come hunt too?" The fact that his jaws are still dripping with blood is probably a good clue as to why he's so hyper right now.

Night Hawk
Night Hawk looked up as Crooked Teak called over. His eyes narrowed annoyed. Flicking his ears, he nodded slightly before heading into the forest. He didn't exactly like hunting with a group. Hawk's Nest almost barreled into him and he stepped out of the way. Night Hawk didn't say anything to him leaving it up to Crooked Teak.

Going around him, he stalked through the forest not making a sound but not stopping when he heard crackling in the trees. Birds were hard to catch and he didn't feel like jumping at the moment. He stopped at the edge of the meadow. He had been watching the deer for a while and knew that there was an elderly doe in there. Scanning, he found her laying on the ground. Hmm...maybe we can get two. He thought before turning to the other three. "Hawk's Nest, go left with Crooked Teak. There is a buck to the side over there. Silent Water with me, we are heading for that doe over there." Night Hawk said quietly before stalking forward, his belly close to the ground as he went through the long grass to downwind of the doe.

Raven Shadow
Raven Shadow watched everyone going around before she got up and slipped out of camp. She walked slowly as she sniffed the air.She smelled many different scents though none of them seemed like a fair bit of hunting. She looked up"Maybe I can get a bird?"Raven Shadow mumbled to herself befor looking around.Raven Shadow did her best trying to climb up the tree that seemed easiest to climb.About half way to the bird's next her hind paw slipped.Raven Shadow let out a startled yelp that could be heard by anyone in a 1 mile range. As she hit the ground she let out a painful yelp."Ow..."she moaned before trying to stand up.She was mostly fine other then a few scratches on her hind legs.Raven Shadow sat down and started to clean the scratches just to be safe.

Crooked Teak

Hawk's Nest came rushing over. Crooked Teak had apparently missed him when looking around for extra wolves. His over-enthusiasm led him to nearly barrel straight into Night Hawk, who by contrast looked like it was some major inconvenience to have to go hunting. Crooked Teak almost smiled at Hawk's Nest, looking down at him. "Yes, Hawk's Nest, you may join us." He gave Night Hawk a judgemental look as though to say, See? This is how you should be - enthusiastic about helping your pack.

Upon being joined by everyone else, Crooked Teak took off for the woods, keeping the pace quick despite knowing it might be hard for Hawk's Nest to keep up. He always pushed Hawk's Nest to better himself. He spotted the deer a moment after Night Hawk, and had already opened his mouth to give orders when Night Hawk started talking. Crooked Teak flattened his ears and growled under his breath as Night Hawk gave orders. This was the problem with hunting alone. You tended to forget that the pack hierarchy still stood out in the woods. This wasn't exactly how Crooked Teak would have handled it. He was a traditional hunter: he tended to keep the pack together and target sick or elderly animals. But he knew many of the pack liked to show off their prowess, and he wasn't about be one-upped.

"Remember your place," he snapped at Night Hawk quietly before beckoning Hawk's Nest. He hung back slightly, wanting to let Hawk's Nest do most of the hunting so that he could learn a bit, but before they could even get close enough to pounce, a yelp rang out through the forest. It sounded like one of their packmates. The stag and doe perked up their heads. There was still a chance to get them, but the safety of their packmates always came first, especially after what had just happened. "Night Hawk, Silent Water!" Crooked Teak called to them, starting to bound in the direction that the yelp had come from.

Making sure everyone was behind him, he slowed as he saw Raven Shadow sitting on the ground. "What happened?" he asked her immediately, looking her over to make sure she wasn't hurt. She seemed to be rather scratched up, but it didn't look like she'd been attacked. Crooked Teak was tempted to ask what she was doing hunting alone again, but refrained.

Night Hawk
Night Hawk growled as Crooked Teak called for them, scaring away the deer. He got up before stalking back towards Crooked Teak had been. This was why he liked hunting alone. Because it would usually end up with him catching something. As they went towards Raven Shadow, Night could hear the birds in the trees. Might as well take something back. He thought before stopping.

He let the others pass before going into a crouch staying still. There was a bird hopping on a low branch close by. Night Hawk didn't move. The pheasant came closer until it was right above his head. He suddenly jumped, powering his jump with his hind legs to catch the pheasant in his jaws as he reached that point. Landing, he looked around before continuing to where the rest were now.

He was still a bit mad at Crooked Teak for calling off the hunt though. It would have been more successful if Crooked Teak and them went back and let Silent Water and him take at least one doe. That way, they would have more prey to take back and know what happened. Night Hawk sat down with the pheasant in his jaws waiting for them.

Hawk's Nest
Hawk's Nest is relieved to have been allowed to hunt and excitedly follows the rest of the group. After having to deal with Running Dawn practically babying him due to his injury, Hawk's Nest is grateful to Crooked Teak for trying to challenge him. Hawk's Nest bolts after Crooked Teak, staying close behind the Beta even as his legs begin to burn with pain.
Seeing the deer, Hawk's Nest gets ready to pounce, but stops in surprise when he hears Night Hawk speak up. Who died and made him alpha? He was about to speak up when he heard Crooked Teak growl and decided not to accidentally insult the Beta further. And then there's the yelp of pain. As soon as he recognizes one of his packmates, he is gone. Forget trying to keep up with Crooked Teak, he's running like he did the day he earned his name, dodging branches and fallen logs alike with relative ease. It's as if nothing was wrong with him at all, and he's the first to arrive. He immediately starts sniffing Raven Shadow's wounds to see if they're infected and licks them clean. He then looks around and snatches up a nearby clove plant, crushing it in his jaws and applying it to as many injuries as he can find. The pain in those places starts to numb.

Silent water

As the group slowly disassembled, Silent water stood up. Looking around, he saw Crooked Teak staring at him, scrutinizing both the possible pansheas, then dash off.
As much as Silent water wanted to go along to hunt, he knew he'd never catch anything. Sighing, he decided to walk around. He didn't want to seem as if he wasn't doing anything, but at the same time, there was nothing he could do.
Silent thought for a bit to himself, finding a dent in the roots of a tree to sit down. If he could do nothing, would he really be a good panshea? And even should he have some undiscovered talent, would it be helpful?
Without warning, a sudden yip was heard, and Silent lept to his feet.
"Night hawk, Silent water!" He heard his name called out from the direction of the yelp, and picked up his pace as much as he could, slowly slowing down to a stop next to a couple others gathered around Raven shadow. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Hawk's tail leap up surprisingly high and grab a clove branch, which he pluckes the cloves off and rub it on Raven's injury. Silent water applauded Hawk's quick thinking in his mind, then stepped forward.
"Chamomile should be slightly more effective, or agrimony. Although chamomile should be easier to find...." He'd seen the white flower before near here, but hadn't bothered to pick it. If he could just find it again...
