<div style="text-align: center;">Dakota || Dame || Swing Dog || Team 1 || Mentions: Kavik <div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">Dakota shifted her gaze from the direction in which Kiko went, back to Kavik. Her ears stood upwards, perked and alert. "I suppose you have a point there, though I believe that she's simply learning. We mustn't be too hard on her, especially today. We have a race to run, and what good would it be if we are all upset with one another? Communication is needed to run, and I doubt that everybody can do that if Kapu is upset with us."<div style="text-align: left;"> <div style="text-align: left;">She sighed deeply, though her tranquility remained, as did her composure and soft voice. "Although she put false words in my mouth as well, I will simply let it go. Obviously we misunderstood one another, and although I don't believe that it was necessary to leave being upset, I also believe that we should have perhaps addressed her more calmly. Stress is taking over all of us as well, so it is obvious that we may all act out due to it." Dakota nodded as she gazed back towards Kiko and Kapu before exhaling sharply. <div style="text-align: left;"> <div style="text-align: left;">The dame chuckled slightly at his comment. "Oh, please, you're not that old, Kavik." She rolled her orbs to tease, as well as reassure the male. She heard him mumble about it being his last race, and she nodded. "If it is to be your last race, then we should ensure that we win it, hmm? I, for one, will try my hardest so that you can retire with a successful race, and I'm sure the others will, too." She smiled at the male before hearing the voices of the humans. <div style="text-align: left;"> <div style="text-align: left;">"Indeed it does sound like it." Dakota stood up and leaned her legs forwards, allowing her muscles to stretch. She lingered for a mere couple of seconds before turning the other dogs. "Our humans are here, everybody!" She called out before trailing after Kavik.

<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko <div style="text-align: center;"> Team 1 | Lead Dog | Mentions: Kapu, Dakota, Kavik <div style="text-align: center;"> <div style="text-align: center;">Kiko pressed his head aginst Kapu's shoulder. "I just want to let you know, we all love you as kin and respect you as if you were in charge of us all. I'm sorry if you feel something different." Kiko lifted his head a moved back towards the group of Dakota and Kavik.<div style="text-align: center;"> <div style="text-align: center;">He walked back towards Dakota and sat by her, licking her head gently before returning his gaze to Kavik. "I tried talking to her, and I told he we love her as kin and respect her as kin also." He told them, his pelt brushing Dakota's. "I'm not sure if she feels the same though." He sighed.<div style="text-align: center;"> <div style="text-align: center;">Kiko shook the thought out of his head. "We can't have difficulties now when the race is only a few hours away." He said before lifting his tail and began cleaning it. He shook it out but it still seemed knotted so he laid it behind him so nobody would notice. Kiko stood up and stretched his back before sitting down again and staring at Kavik. "Are you nervous?" He asked.<div style="text-align: center;"> <div style="text-align: center;">Kavik rarely got nervous in his opinion. He was always the playful type. Kiko had learned this since the beginning of when Kiko had first met him. Kavik would always be the one to play around before or after the race, but during, he was another story. You couldn't even talk to Kavik during the race, he was in his own mind-set. Kiko liked that.

((It's just the beginning of the day. Everyone is waking up and about to get ready for the race, before heading over to the starting line. Team One Dogs are in or Around their Barn, Team Two dogs should all be at their kennels. There's a post in the sign ups, about Page 7 or 8 I think, that explains the Teams' set ups so everyone was consistent.
Does that help any? If you need more detail you can pm me and I'd be happy to go over things. :) ))

<div style="text-align: center;">Nevada Team One | Lead Dog | Mentions: Marble, Dakota, etc.
The female listened intently to everything Marble had to say, she always wondered what it was like to be on different teams. Each Team was different, they bonded different, handled things different, so it was interesting to her to hear his story. Of course, she couldn't help the look of sorrow that plagued her gaze as he went on. He may have said they play fought him, but in all her years of play fighting she had never been hurt by someone.
"Well," she started, letting her voice rise with confidence, "we'll never do that to you. Mistakes happen, and our team understands that they're a part of growing. We wouldn't hurt you for something like that. Like, I know the team is competitive and loves to win, but most of us just love to run and to compete, winning is important, but not as much as the team itself." She nodded, hoping her words would boost his confidence in the team, as well as make sure he knew they'd never hurt him for something like that.
She grinned and wagged her tail at his words that all that mattered was if they had a good time, and she nodded. She was going to respond but she heard a strong, feminine voice before she could. Glancing over she spied Dakota, Kiko's mate and one of the Swing dogs, announcing that the humans were coming. Nevada let out a loud, happy bark, rising to her paws and bouncing in a circle, before turning towards the two barn doors. Even now she could hear the crunch of snow beneath boots. She glanced over at Marble once more and yapped, "are you ready?"
Kavik Team One | Team Dog | Mentions: Dakota, Kiko
Kavik sighed as he looked at Dakota, he hated to admit it, but a lot of what she said made sense. "I suppose there is a significant chance it was just a misunderstanding between us, but that doesn't excuse one's behavior," he pointed out calmly, walking slowly back into the barn. "But you're right, we don't need this hanging over us before a race. We need everyone focused on the job ahead of us. If not for the team, then for John. He deserves to see us win," he said, before lifting his head, and walking with a new sense of confidence and strength.
Pausing he glanced back at her once more and snorted, "I'm two years older than you Dakota, I may not be completely grey in the snout, but it's getting there." He chuckled softly, motioning to the grey fur forming on his muzzle around his nose. It wasn't overly prominent, but it was there nonetheless. "But, I guess you're right, if it's to be my last race, then I might as well make it a good one," his eyes drifted over to Kiko who had returned to them and nodded gently.
"She should know that, while we may not always agree with her, we do respect her. There's no doubt she's the best at her job," he offered calmly, though his ears flicked at Kiko's question. "Nervous?" He looked forward and then back with a solemn expression, "no, brother, I'm merely tired." When he finished speaking his solemn expression was replaced with a look of pure determination and shoved his ears forward, "but when have I ever let that stop me?" He let out a loud baying bark, the sound carrying with strength around him and he turned, trotting into the barn.
"Rise and shine everyone! It's race day, lets get a move on. Our humans are about to be here, let's show them why they chose us to run this race," his deep voice rang out clear and full of the strength and vigor he lacked earlier. He let out another chorus of barks, trying to entice the others into joining him.

<div align="center">Dakota || Dame || Swing Dog || Team 1 || Mentions: Kavik, Kiko, Nevada <div align="center">
<div align="left">Upon the sight of Kiko reappearing, she let a gentle smile rest amongst her graceful features. Before she could ask how it went with Kapu, her mate had already responded. The dame nodded her head with satisfaction. "Good, I'm glad you said that." She paused. "Although you may think she doesn't feel the same, I believe that she does. All of us here respect one another, and we always will. Surely she knows that as well." <div align="left"> <div align="left">Dakota leaned against Kiko, and upon seeing his knotted tail, she narrowed her orbs. With a low huff, the canine pressed her paws against it and lightly combed it out with her claws until it was smooth once more. She gave him a look as if to say, "you realize nothing gets past me, right?" Though swiftly grinned at him before shifting her gaze to Kavik. "You have yet another point, though I think today, everybody's behaviour could be excused for once. The race is making everybody rather nervous, so I believe some things such as that can be overlooked for the time being." She nodded her head at the older canine's next comment, agreeing completely with his statement. "Indeed. John needs to know that he has trained us well and that we are prepared." <div align="left"> <div align="left">Dakota simply rolled her orbs at Kavik. "You mustn't think that way. Two years older isn't bad. If you think young, then you'll feel it." She chuckled at her own wording before smiling. "There we go, that's the spirit."<div align="left"> <div align="left">As everybody was beginning to assemble themselves at the sound of humans approaching, she especially heard the loud bark of Nevada. She offered her a wide grin and slight wag of her tail, which indicated a friendly greeting. "We mustn't let John down everybody, so up you all get!" She added onto Kavik's own bark before padding off to the sound of the humans. Edited at June 26, 2019 08:10 PM by -Black Shadow-
