The damsel seems a bit surprised at the eager yip of a younger canine, ears swiveling in that direction with her head soon following. Muscles tensed, as if in preparation to defend herself, Tapeesa soon finds herself relaxing.
She chuckles, fur lying flat once more atop her withers as she turns to fully face her teammate, reclining delicately upon her haunches. "Good morning, pup," she greets, head dipping in a respectful greeting, "how did you sleep?" Her head tips to the side with her inquiry, tail thumping against the terra in a relaxed manner.

<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko
<div style="text-align: center;">Team 1 | Lead Dog | Mentions: Kavik, Kapo, Dakota
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko smiled at Kavik's expression towards Dakota and him. Kiko suppresed a smile while Kavik talked about John. "I agree Kavik but like I said earlier, I don't think John would have picked this musher if he didn't think he was good enough to lead our team." The wise words just came out of Kiko's mouth before he could even speak but Kiko just went with it.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko looked over as he saw Kapu approaching, while he dipped his head in a polite greeting. He glanced over at Kavik who had pinned his ears a slight bit before returing them to full height. He had to agree with Kavik though, he didn't really agree with Kapu's point of veiw on anything either but he respected her as he respected everyone.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko flinched at her harsh words, he was nothing like her. He would never try to boast about his wins but keep quiet and not start anything. He looked over at Kavik who had hesitated too but then looked back at Kapu. 'Why would she want to start anything with our competers?' He thought to himself. 'That would just make things worse and end up in a fight.'<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko smiled warmly at his mate's words, she had always said the right thing at the right time, no matter what it was. That's a reason him and Dakota bonded like they did, she made him feel secure with her words of wisdom. He looked at his paws before looking back up and watching the other three speak.

<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">'Is it true?"<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kapu glanced at the males. She shuffled her paws. She barked,"You know that's not what I mean..." She looked at all of them. She barked,"You know I'm not dumb... You guys don't really like me. But, I try.." She moved away from them. Maybe, when this race is over and either way they win or loose. Kapu could leave the team. They respected her but she knew most of them disliked her cause of her attitude. <div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kapu claw crunched the snow and she moved toward her stall. She lays down and her head planted in her paws. Maybe, when they win during their celebration. Kapu will just disappear and not be heard from again from them. Kapu has been here with these dog for awhile. They never cared for he ro didn't like how she looked at things. <div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kapu turns her body away to wards the wall to look at the ragged wall of her claws Marks from jumping and being bored. She thought 'Why can't I just be a real dog..." Kapu always had the draw to the wild which made her have survival instincts. Utonagan dogs weren't wolfdog but closer to the wolf ancestors. Kapu wanted to just show who was boss to those scoundrals pr the enemy.

<div style="text-align: center;">Team 1 | Lead Dog | Mentions: Dakota, Kapu, Kavik
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko looked up from where he was sitting and watched the facial expression of the female wolf known as Kapu. He glanced at the others and walked off, calling over his back, "I'm going to talk to her." He trotted towards where he had seen Kapu last and tasted the air, maybe he could pick up her scent that way? He felt back for what he had thought. Maybe he could make it right.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kiko lifted his nose in the air when he caught her scent somewhere ahead of him. He took a deep breath and padded forward, to see Kapu laying down in the snow. He perked his audits and put a smile on his face as he sat down beside her, listening to her breath.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">"Why did you leave the group?" He asked her, curiosity sparking inside his eyes. He never really had bonded with Kapu like he should have but he didn't dislike her. He liked all the dogs the same on the team, he would never disclude them on purpose and if he did, he would make it right.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">He sat beside Kapu, watching the sun start to rise higher in the sky. It would be time for the race in a few hours and he didn't want to start it off by another dog feeling the way she was. He closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the breeze the world harnessed before looking up again at Kapu.

Bear/male/wheeldog/Team 1/Greenland dog/m: open

The large brute yawned as he parted his large toes and opened into a stretch, his fat and a mix of fluff making him have a double chin for a few seconds. His tired eyes scanned the stall he had, the soft hay sometimes tickled his fur, it was laid at the bottom just barely. Bears ears flicked towards the noise of others speaking.

Bears mind was set on the race, he wasn’t new new but he was still fresh to the whole sledding ordeal besides his training. Learning all the voice commands and helping pull the practice sled came easily enough. His claws dug into the dirt as he lay on his side, his eyes Closing back sleepily. The race was soon, his door was open and he didn’t want to get up yet. Steve liked bear a lot, the other dogs not so much. John loves them all, and had cake earlier to deliver soup.

He got up, and licked his chops, his large tongue lapping up the cool mixture of shredded meat, some vegetables and chicken broth. Bear finished his food shortly, and with a full stomach and decided to pace around his cage to let it digest faster.

<div style="text-align: center;">Dakota || Dame || Swing Dog || Team 1 || Mentions: Kiko, Kavik, Kapu
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">She continuously nodded at her mate's words. However, at the sound of Kapu stating that they didn't like her, Dakota shook her head. "No, Kapu, we do.." However, she soon trailed off as the female sauntered off. The tan-pelted female began to stand up, though halted when Kiko mention that he himself would. Reluctantly, she let him go, though she decided that she should at least apologize to the dame and offer her own apology.<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: left;">Dakota did like Kapu, in fact, she was fond of the dame's enthusiasm. However, she had to admit, she perhaps didn't think in terms of speaking, and it was clear she may had said some things to upset the other female. But Dakota, well, she didn't dislike anybody. She was a fairly forgiving canine, and always looked for the best in others. <div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: left;">The swing dog glanced at Kiko. "When you're done, I'd like to talk to her as well." She smiled softly before pressing her nose against his cheek and watching him pad off. Dakota then turned to Kavik. "I do hope that she is alright." It was obviously clear that she felt guilty, as she never did enjoy others to feel saddened. <div style="text-align: left;">

The male flicked his ears as he watched the scene unfold silently, no emotion really reflecting on his features as the female left the conversation upset. Once she was gone he huffed and shook his head gently, his teeth clicking together quietly. "While I hope she is alright, she needs to understand her words and attitude have consequences. She can't say things we disagree with, and expect us to be okay with it," he said honestly, not as apologetic as the other two seemed to be. "She's put false words in my mouth by assuming I think her dumb and don't like her, and I don't enjoy it," he grumbled softly, his ears flicking back gently.

"I'm too old for this kind of drama," he snorted softly, glancing over at Dakota with a tiny glint of humor in his icy colored eyes. Slowly the male rose to his feet and stretched out his body, his back bowing inward as his claws scraped across the snow. He let out a grunt before he straightened, peering back at his hind end quietly. He didn't plan on telling anyone, but his hips ached slightly already. He hoped it was just from being stiff, and they'd cease their pain once he had warmed up, but he wasn't holding his breath. It was most his right hip that hurt, but his left had begun to ache a bit from over compensating to give his right a break.

"Just one more race, Kavik," he mumbled to himself, flicking his ears as he heard the sound of a door opening and closing in the distance, and men's voices carrying in the wind. "Sounds like our humans are out," he said to Dakota, before heading into the barn to greet them when they arrived.

Kayuh
Team Two | Wheel Dog | Mentions: Tapeesa

The female Malamute's tail waved behind her quickly, stirring up the air and snow as she sat. Her chain was strained to the max, and, truthfully, she probably could have broken free if she desired to. She'd gotten free three times in the past month alone, though she had never taken off, it was mostly just to be with the other dogs. Two of the three times she'd either slipped from here collar, or pulled hard enough for the latch to give. The third time she had some how broken the chain itself. Truthfully the set up just wasn't well built for dealing with the large she dog's enthusiasm and strength.

"I slept quite well, Tapeesa," she said, her voice happy but hushed so she didn't wake any of the others who might be sleeping. "I didn't sleep a whole lot, too excited, but what I did sleep was good sleep. And you? How did you sleep? Are you excited for today?" She whined softly as she tried to reign in her excitement, calming herself as best she could.

"Sorry, Tap, I have a hard time staying calm before a race," she said, and even as she sat there she wriggled with excitement. She just loved everything about being a sled dog. She loved the weight of the sled at her back, and the fact that it was up to her and her partner to steer it. She loved the feel of her muscles pulling and straining, the exercise of it all was exhilarating. Most importantly, she loved the sense of freedom it gave her. All of them just running down a trail, the only thing attaching them to the world was the material of their harnesses. Honestly, there were times when she was running that she thought if her harness hadn't been on she could fly. True, she knew it was childish notion, no dog could fly, but it was just that feeling. Nothing compared to it in the slightest for the dog. All of that on top of the fact that it was a brand new race for everyone, that unknown factor just made it all the more interesting to the younger dog.

Team One | Lead Dog | Mentions: Marble

Nevada couldn't contain the laughter that came bubbling up at Marble's words, her head shaking softly as she did. "I do not know who told you that, but I can't think of anyone who's first race went astoundingly," humor was still in her words as she spoke. Her honeyed eyes glimmered in the dull light, and her muscles relaxed her her mind was taken off the race that would begin in a matter of hours.

"Honestly, in my first race, I tripped. Mid sprint, in front of other teams, out on the trail where it was clear so there was no debris. I got too overwhelmed, got too in my own head, lost sight of what my feet were doing, and tripped. I went sprawling across the ground, brought down at least four other dogs, and brought the sled to a halt," her ears were getting hot just thinking of the situation when it had happened. "I thought I would never live that down, and some still occasionally hold it over my head, but I haven't tripped sense. So, yanno, it's one of those things that just gets better with time," she spoke, keeping her voice quiet for the dogs who might still be trying to speak.

"Longer races make me nervous though, and this one even more so. I mean we know nothing about it, but it's supposed to go through some of the harshest terrain. It just has me nervous for myself and the team, yanno?" She flicked her ears and glanced at him with wide, honey brown eyes.

Marble-Team 1-Team dog-m:Nevada

The Aussie Samoyed mix looked at Nevada as she laughed, but there was no hint of mocking nor teasing brought into the sound of her laughter. His ears perk forward, as he listened to her words, tone full of humor. Guess those human phrases were meant to ensure others to be more confident, which kinda worked on the naive mutt. Well, he wasn't too naive, but he was naive enough where he might see someone manipulating him or getting him to leave without saying it as something that was a friendly gesture. He believes everyone is his friend, even if not everyone might like the puppish sled dog.

Marble listened as Nevada spilt out her little story about how her first race was. The Aussie Samoyed mix flinched as he kinda imagined her tripping, but more importantly-ish, he could feel her embarrassment. Hell, it was kinda easy to tell that she was still embarrassed by the whole incident. Shuffling his paws for a bit, the Aussie Samoyed mix looked at her with sympathetic eyes, as he began to speak. 'Well, I kinda get what you mean. I did trip on my first race too, just like you did. No one really fell down with me, they just kinda dragged me along as the race went on. Once we finished it, everyone seemed a little mad but they kinda forgave me I guess. Some of the dogs on my former team play fought with me, even if they kinda hurt me a bit, but they were my friends so I forgave them' he says in a kind tone, not realizing that they were attacking him for his idiocy and how he almost made them lose the first race he was in.

'And, I kinda dunno how well I'll do in this race either. I mean, you're a great lead dog so you'll do great like always!' he chimes, as his blue-brown eyes shone with support and confidential belief in the damsel, knowing she'd do her bets like always. 'Anyway, even if we lose, all that matters is that we had fun and did our all' he yips as his facial expression grew more and more friendly, his tail thumping

<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kita got up from where he was laying and stood up. Perhaps he was wrong about the wolves swarming the camp, he got up and stretched yet again. His old bones calling for a good walk. He padded out of camp yet again, now the sun higher in the sky than the last time he had left. He paused and sniffed the air, the scent of dog drifted in the wind.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kita followed the smell to an old barn where he had seen only once before. When he was a pup, his mother showed him the sled dogs. He didn't mind them but never really talked to them because the dogs didn't like wolves. "They won't mind if I have a look around." He said, aloud but quietly.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Kita trotted towards the shadows of the camp, under a tree and some leaves to cover his fur. He walked around the edge of camp, smelling for any dogs nearby. None. He paused before he kept going, getting closer towards the barn as he went but out of sight from the other dogs. Or so he thought.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">He sniffed the air once again, this time not for dogs but just to smell the new smells he had come across. Kita could smell food, just inside the barn. He smelled many different dogs, maybe ten of them in the barn and four of them outside the barn. He stood there for a moment before drifting off into the shadows again.
