Icicle listened to Anya speak, wanting get the thorn off but the female moved away too quick. As she moved off towards the woods, Icicle shouted after her, "Watch out for our traps!" Frost cackled above her, "I hope she gets caught in them. Foolish pup will learn her lesson." Icicle flattened her ears, "Am I the only fox in the forest that actually has a good personality?" She muttered to herself before bounding after Anya. She whisked into the trees to hide herself, making sure to follow the female so she didn't get into trouble.

Shadow prowled over the ground, the last thing they needed was a new wolf in the pack. And a young female at that. Shadow jumped over a log before pausing as he realized where he was going. Oh well, he needed to go see it anyway. What was the point of being mad when you already had killed the creature who did it? Shadow picked up his pace before stopping at a clearing. Old dens were nestled among the trees but the ground still looked bloodstained. Shadow sat down in the middle, letting the rage flow over him before it subsided.
After several moments, he sighed, flattening his ears. He was being harsh. The last thing he needed was to turn out like Frost. He was about to get up when a bundle of fur ran into his side. "Oops, sorry Shadow. I thought I saw an eagle and wasn't looking where I was going," the grey fox said, shaking out her fur. "It's been a while Mist. What have you been up to?" Shadow said, flicking an ear at the fox. "Been across the way for a time, had to move out again. You know how it is with the humans." Mist said, scratching an ear. Shadow nodded understandingly, "Well, let Icicle know your here and maybe have a chat with her in a bit. I'm sure she would love to see you."
Mist chuckled, "Maybe later tonight, I'll drop in. It's nice to see your doing okay." She paused, "You are doing okay right?" He could see she was concerned before he sighed, "As best as I can be Mist." Mist looked at him sadly, "It never goes away." The grey fox disappeared back into the forest but Shadow sat there for a bit more. You are right Mist. It doesn't go away. |

Anya | f | loner | M: Shadow Anya held in a gasp as she saw the blood stained dirt and the dens. What happened here she thought to herself. Suddenly she saw a grey fox bound over to the alpha and run into him. By the sound of their conversation anya could tell the alpha was sad, and even upset. At that she realised they were very alike in more ways than one. Gulping down fear she walked up to the alpha and sat by him once the fox had left. Before he had time to say anything she spoke, "i know your hurting, and i understand that. To you im probally just a worthless pup, one more to feed and take care of and more importantly, someone, if you get to close, to loose". She let a tear roll down her cheek as she spoke again, believe it or not i know how you feel, that why i choose to be in smaller packs, easier to protect". . Anya then closed her eyes, expecting the alpha to growl some mean words, run her off and even maybe to hurt her but she couldnt let him be alone like she was. Another tear rolled down as she remembered how lonely and scared she was at first, and even now. |

Shadow whipped his head over to the young female but listened to what she said. Great, another female who was concerned for his health and she didn't even know him. When she was finished, she closed her eyes, most likely expecting him to run her off or something. He considered it for a moment but something. . .hmm. Shadow huffed at the female, breathing in her scent before letting out a sigh. Lovely.
He got up before saying, "I wouldn't call it much of a pack but if you are so inclined to join my little band of misfits, then you are welcome. On a few conditions," he looked over at her, his eyes narrowing, "You need to learn how to hunt and fight. I will be in charge of teaching you that. You will also need to learn how to avoid the traps in the forest that the foxes set. I will let Icicle help you with that one, she's the friendliest of the two foxes. You need to learn to trust you senses, not just your eyes. Flame can teach that the best. And you need to learn to get along with the foxes. They are my allies in this forest and once you learn who is who and where they are, the better. Frost will help you with that, whether or not he likes it."
Shadow paused, "If you agree to those conditions, I believe we are all set." Shadow looked over to a small den, half hidden in the bushes. His eyes softened at the memories that streamed through his head, the laughter and yips that went along with it. "I also know that you don't like the foxes. That much was clear when you saw them. But when that time comes, they will protect you and your pups with their lives." Shadow said, raising his eyebrow at her. She smelled much like Lean had when she had pups coming.
Shadow started towards the edge of the clearing before looking back out at the dens. Frost especially. When we found out the pups were dead, he was the one who blinded the jaguars, allowing me to take the final kill. He thought to himself, lifting his head. As much as he loved Frost, it was safe to say he never wanted to see that side of the fox again. |

Anya|f|loner|M:Shadow Anya let out a breath she didnt knew she was holding once the alpha got up and started to speak. She listened to his words, glad he wasnt going to toss her to the streets like she had nightmares about. She nodded, "i can learn", she said once he said she would have to learn to hunt and fight. She then listened to who would teach her what, she nodded at him teaching her hunt and fighting, icicle teacher how to avoid traps, flame teacher her to trust her senses, not just her eyes but she clenched her eyes closed at frost's name. I can do this, you wanted to join, you will have to learn. After she convinced herself that she should, she nodded and said "easy, when do we start." . Her eyes went wide as he said "But when the time comes, they will protect you and your pups with their lives." "H-h-how do you know", anya studdered. She then followed him, still stund that he figured it out, when flame nor icicle, the little curious fox hadnt even noticed it. "Could i ask you a question?" she asked shadow. . Before he could answer she asked, "whats wrong with fla- i mean theres nothing wrong with her! I just meant, uhhh you know, something different about her?" She shook her head, hoping she didnt just mess up. |

Shadow raised an eyebrow at her eagerness before giving her a sad smile. "That question can be answered in a million ways but mine is simple. A female smells like you when they have pups on their way. It won't be the first time pups will be in this pack." Shadow said, his voice softening slightly. He flicked an ear, "You start tonight with Flame. She likes you well enough to bring you here and the night time, as she says, is the best time to learn."
When Anya asked her question, he let a bellowing laugh before looking up at her. "She hides it well doesn't she? She's an old wolf with her secrets, but she gives you many hints along the way." Shadow said, smiling slightly over to her before picking up his pace. "Why do you think I would pair you with Flame for your senses? And when I say senses, what do you think I mean?" He said, testing her. She wouldn't last a day with Icicle if she didn't pick this up now. |

Anya|f|SFP|M: shadow "Oh," anya said as shadow answered her first question. "Then why didnt flame or icicle smell it?" Anya then smiled as shadows voice softened a bit. "Asome", she replied to his second answer. She then stopped in her tracks as he laughed. "Whats so funny?!" Anya then nodded at his question. "Yes, whatever shes hiding shes doing it well because she seems like a normal wolf." She then picked up speed as she kept up with shadow. She then thought about what shadow had said, chewing each word. Finally she gasped "oh! She's lost one of her senses, and if im correct its her vision." Anya thought back to the questions icicle asked her and how there was pebbles on the ground at the home camp. Anya then looked over at shadow, waiting to see if she was right. |

Shadow flicked his ear at Anya's first question, "Because they have never been near it before." He blinked, clearly showing that he wasn't talking anymore with that topic at the moment before grinning as she figured it out. "Correct, she lost the rest of her vision in an accident. She's been relying on her sense of smell, hearing and feel under her paws. That's why there is pebbles scattered around the main camp and always a tree with low branches on a trail. Probably how she got you here without you noticing that she was blind." Shadow said with a smile.
"Flame is one of the few that can teach you how to use every sense to your advantage to survive. Every night, you will have lessons with her." Shadow said before pausing, sweeping a paw in front of Anya. He touched her shoulder before leading her around a grove of trees. "I'll have Icicle show you the traps closer to the camp tomorrow morning." He said with a slightly mischievous grin and flick of his tail behind him. Thankfully, she doesn't bring snakes close to camp, she puts them on the outskirts now for fun.
Shadow shook out his fur before a weight landed on his back. "So..." Frost growled from his perch and Shadow chuckled, "Your going to have to learn how to be nice." Frost gave him a wounded look, "Again?" Shadow huffed at him and he jumped up into the trees again, "If I was her, I would be a bit lucky that she didn't get me for trap training." Frost said, a sharp sly tone entering his voice before he disappeared ahead. Most likely eager to give the news himself. Shadow smiled over at Anya, "You'll get used to him. Sometime." |

Anya|f|SFP| M:shadow and flame Anya was going to ask more questions about the pup thing but when she saw shadow blink, clearly not wanting to talk about it anymore she stopped. She then smiled as he said the word correct. Anya watched shadow smile, for the first time in meeting him she didnt feel the least bit scared or intimidated. His smile was warm, much like her fathers. A tear rolled down as she remembered her family. She then nodded at her scheduled nightly lessons. She didnt know how good she would be but she knew flame would be patient. She then followed shadow around a grove of trees. Anya then nodded but stopped at the word snake. "W-what?!" Before shadow could answer thought frost jumped onto his back. Anya gasped, stopped and clenched her eyes shut as bad memories rushed back to her. . She then tryed to smile sweetly at frost as he jumped back into the trees. Anya shivered then gasped. "Hes gonna go tell them! But i told flame i would figure her secret out before i got accepted!" anya cried. She then took off, rushing back to camp but not really knowing where she was going. Luckily she made it to camp safely right before frost did. She then ran over to flame and skidded to a stop infront of her. "I know your secret!" anya said proudly as her tail wagged wildly. "And im accepted! Told you i would, im just so good!" anya said as she got into a play bow. . Anya then piacked herself up as she relised flame couldnt see her. A happy tear rolled down her muzzle as she pulled flame into a hug and whispered "thank you for everything." Anya couldnt remember the last time she was this happy. She then pulled away and smiled her biggest smile. |

Flame had laid down when the female had gone after Shadow. She heard the excited patter of paws rush in before Anya burst out like a pup that she had figured out her secret and she was accepted. She felt the female give her a hug before pulling away. Flame chuckled, "Surviving in this pack is not easy. As we are smaller than most, we must use everything to our advantage." She heard the soft pawsteps of Shadow and she sat up to touch noses with him. "Tonight, she begins training with you. Senses are key to instincts." Shadow said, pulling away from her.
Flame gave a nod, "Well, she has to start somehow and I doubt she would want to start with the traps anyway. Senses for everything don't develop overnight so it's best to learn to understand them in the beginning." Flame said gently before padding inside her den. "Go get some sleep or something to eat Anya. I'll meet you in the center of the clearing at sunset." Flame called before curling up. She counted to 5 before a furry lump warmed her back. Icicle had always curled up with the pups and with them gone, she curled up with Flame for the nights. Not that Flame was one to complain. The little fox, feisty as she was, was still grieving her self over her playmates. |

Anya|f|SFP| M:flame Anya nodded as flame told her to go eat and sleep. She watched flame go before she turned to the prey pile to eat. She picked out a small fish before bringing it to a nearby tree to eat. Anya sat under the tree as she listened to the leaves rustle. She took a deap breath in and out. Peaceful anya thought as she finally tore into the small fish. After eating she layed down and closed her eyes, again listening to nature. This was how she went to sleep everytime. If she didnt she would always have a nightmare, and even still she would have one sometimes. Anyas fur rippled in the wind as the trees blew leaves down to the ground beside her. |
