Saulceris previously held the role of lieutenant stallion, now he's in a sort of limbo
Saulceris is a stallion of, for lack of a better word, beautiful coloration. His coat appears to be the coloration of honey in some places, and more of a tree's bark color as you travel further down his legs. His mane and tail are of a pristine, light blond color, strikingly contrasting his dappled, darkly colored coat.
. .
Saulceris is what humans would call a dappled chocolate palomino; his coat contains an array of palomino shades, lightening toward his center yet darkening toward the ends of his frame on either end, particularly toward his legs, which are then a blond similar to that of his mane and tail as you near his hooves.
. .
Saulceris inherited the deep brown gaze of his mother, appearing to glisten a vague golden color when the sunlight hits them just so. They hold a certain fire to them, an undying ferocity, especially when he was taken on a battle for the sake of the mares and foals of the herd he assisted Riker in protecting.
. .
The stallion stands at an approximate 17.4 hands, with a build consisting of defined muscle and his figure depicting that of a healthy, well-fed feral horse. He is a large stallion, having inherited his height from his father rather than his quite short mother, and often used his size to his advantage in warding off rivaling stallions or predators. Had it not been out of place for him as a lieutenant rather than any sort of true lead, he would have gladly assisted Riker in his fight for the herd; he, unfortunately, did not want the fight to be unfair and their rule to be declared unlawful.
{ Adaptable } - { Alert } - { Clear-headed }
The lieutenant was selected likely due to his approach to life; he is willing to adapt to every challenge life throws his way, accepting them gracefully and easing into a new routine with minimal difficulties or reservations. He does his best to always be aware of his surroundings and alert, listening carefully for anything that would pose a danger to his herd, and he's furious with himself for not being able to do anything to keep the foals safe from the new lead. Saulceris approaches things with a clear mind and a calm demeanor, and now that their lives have been shaken up, he's going to be the calm before the lead's storm. He has no place directly fighting Hawthorne for the mares, as that would challenge Riker's position as lead, but he will support his lead stallion in any way he needs to; even if his job is simply wearing down Hawthorne or distracting him to give Riker a chance.
. . .
{ Compassionate } - { Considerate } - { Cooperative }
The palomino is a stallion driven by his compassion for the herd; he feels a deep grief for the mares that lost their young, especially those that he may have sired. When times got rough in the herd and a mare passed, or a foal was lost to natural causes or a predator, Saulceris was one of the first to join the mares in their grief. He'd step in as a shoulder to cry on, standing close to the grieving mare(s) and offering his support while she needs it. The wellbeing of the mares was his main priority, and he'd do anything it took to be sure they and their young would thrive. He'll work with anyone he needs to if it means the herd is fine, even if he isn't particularly fond of the individual.
. . .
{ Decisive } - { Dedicated } - { Dignified }
Saulceris is a stallion that knows what he wants and how to get it; he isn't manipulative, but he is a hard worker. He carries himself with the dignity and the authority of a stallion that many would believe was a lead, though he was content to remain a lieutenant for as long as Riker was present; he had a home, he had the right to expand his bloodline, he was happy. Saulceris is dedicated to the herd and to his lifestyle, and especially dedicated to any mares that claimed a special place in his heart; he wasn't a one mare stallion, but he did love them all equally and treat them like the queens he firmly believed they were. The stallion is a romantic, and he will sooner die than treat a mare poorly.
/ / /
{ Busy } - { Enigmatic } - { Family-Oriented }
Unfortunately for his devotion to family and his clear adoration for his mares and foals, Saulceris was always quite the busy character. When he wasn't patrolling the outskirts of the herd for dangers, he was trailing well behind everyone to make sure there were no stragglers. He could often be seen standing at a higher vantage point, looking down on the herd and watching for any danger further away. For all that was clear in the stallion's personality, there are also mysteries as to how he gets around and takes care of things in general. He's almost an enigma, though not quite; he's got his mysterious qualities, but to call him a true puzzle would be a minor overstatement.
. . .
{ Intense } - { Old-Fashioned } - { Private }
summary here
/ / /
{ Assertive } - { Blunt } - { Calculating }
A blunt stallion with every move carefully thought out ahead of time, Saulceris never had any issue putting his hoof down when push came to shove. He would be one of the first to charge in and start kicking when things got rough, though not without a clear course of action planned out in his mind. The stallion is assertive when he needs to be, especially with young colts still learning their places. He's blunt, never afraid of speaking his mind, but he will feel bad if his words push a limit even a centimeter too far.

Sagira is seventeen years old

She is a mare of the Stolen Herd, and is content where she stands

A mare of shorter stature, Sagira stands at only 14HH and weighs in at approximately 800 pounds. She isn't a mare built for any sort of combat/confrontation, nor is she necessarily built for speed, being a little bit on the more rounded side. She doesn't graze more than she should or get into any wild carrots or anything of the sorts, she's simply a little heavier than one would expect of a mare recently out of her prime.

She's a bit on the slower side due to the additional weight; she isn't pregnant, simply large. She hasn't been pregnant in about four years, though she will simply pass it off as 'still losing the weight' should anyone bring it up to her.

Sagira is of a chestnut base coloration with slightly lighter patches along her undersides and cheeks, with the patterns of a leopard appaloosa. Her body is covered with a white sheet of hair, dotted with chestnut markings that make up her true coloring.

As for her eyes, they are a deep brown color; dark pools that contain a wisdom beyond the years of many of her companions. Her main and tail, by contrast, are a pale blonde. Her tail is quite long, whereas her mane remains fairly short.

Sagira is a mare that is not to be trifled with; she is quick to bite or kick to remind a bold mare of her place within the herd structure, or to ward a stallion away from the foals they're working so diligently to raise. She seems to lack a gentleness with any horse once they'd reached maturity, treating them all as though they should know better and reufisng to accept 'I didn't know' as an excuse when confronted.

With the foals, however, Sagira is much more gentle. She will gladly play with any foal that approaches her with that intention, or tell stories when asked; she has no problem with watching over the young while their mothers graze or simply need alone time. She hasn't had a foal of her own in two years, though is happy to take those in the herd under her wing and treat them as though they were her own.

The herd comes before her own wellbeing, and Sagira will not hestitate to confront potentially dangerous stallions alongside her leader should that be what it takes to keep the foals alive and well; she may tremble in the legs from the adrenaline and underlying anxiety, but she will put her own life at risk if it means the herd thrives another day. Predators are a more complicated story, though she will still charge and kick until she can no longer if they get too close.

The old mare is wise and content to share her wisdom through legends and general stories, or through straight forward advice should that be asked of her. She has lived a full life and she awaits the day she can no longer provide for the herd, when she will be left behind to instead contribute her life to the grass below, but until then she is glad to still be welcomed.

Sagira has a deep set of scars along the base of her neck from a cougar attack when she was a younger mare in her prime, where she protected some of the herd's foals.

RELATIONSHIPS OPEN

Sagira has no crush, nor does she have any interest in taking on a long-term partner in her age.

She's had no recent foals, but is open to have mothered any horse between the ages of eleven and three; she began breeding at the age of five, and started kicking at any stallion to approach her romantically at the age of thirteen.

Jazzy is a mare with a bay colored coat, having beautiful rich tones throughout her fur that could be considered red instead of a brown given the right kind of lighting standing in the shade or sun. Jazzy has a single white colored sock on her front right hoof that stands out amongst the sea of brown and black tones, and a blaze that goes down her head from nearly between her ears down to near where her top lip is. While the blaze is relatively straight on one side, for the other it dances in a pattern that makes the white stroke thin near the beginning, then abruptly thicker between where her eyes and the start of her muzzle is. Jazzy, or Jazz, either works fine with her, bears a black colored mane and tail that's relatively silky and smooth and while the forelock doesn't obscure her vision or get in the way, her mane falls behind her beautifully like a curtain and could be considered a bit wavy if one were to look closely at it

Assuming you have somehow convinced this paranoid mare to let you get that close to be able to notice such a thing. She isn't the oldest horse, being 10 years old, and is currently nearing the halfway point of her lifespan so she would consider herself done with growing. Despite this though, she stands at a considerable height even if she might not get any taller, being 16.3 hands tall and standing a hand or two taller than the average horse. To add onto that fact, while she may not be the most muscular or sturdily of built horse compared to some of the others with breeds more suited to brute force, Jazz has a rather slender build that can still pack a punch with a soft kick to the jaw or a sharp nip in the side

Her ears, despite being very attentive and ready to flick in a direction to better hear any coming threats, is almost always pinned to the back of this mares head and can rarely be seen sitting idly upright if not down or rapidly swiveling around to try and hear something that most likely isn't really there. That, and combined with the fact her stance is usually very rigid or stiff, with joints locked to make her look taller and at the ready to combat whatever may be thrown at her, and that when not doing that and talking with another horse who may be trying to hold a conversation with her she will constantly be shifting her weight. It's not like Jazz will hide any of these facts that she's always ready and very tense, no, rather she much prefers that everyone know she's like this so that they might better stay away from her vicinity

Jazz has no intention to socialize much or get to know someone very well ever. She won't allow herself to get hurt by anyone, no matter who they might be or how often they may have passed by her in the herd or when grazing inside of the vast plains. Jazz holds an air around her that always seems to demand and warn others to stay far, far away from her and to never approach unless they're wanting to get into a fight or her bad side. With stomping her hooves, it sometimes feels she's always ready to kick someone if they do so much as to breathe too close to her and there have even been times where she has briefly spooked at a particularly harsh breeze or sudden sound from behind
Scars - She has a row of 3 claw marks raking across her back by her shoulders

Personality
Jazzy when it comes to temperament will very easily land at the more stubborn and hard to work with side of things rather than someone who will agree with absolutely everything and be a yes man or goody two shoes kind of person looking to gain favours by always taking someone's side. This mare much prefers to stand with her own opinions, no matter who may be against her or how wrong someone else may think she is and holds quite the stubborn streak. When she commits or thinks something, it'll take a hella lot more than the agreement of everyone else in the group and jumping through some hoops to get her to also change her mind. When she thinks she's right, she's right. Or when she wants to go one way and others want to go their own way, she'll take the way she damn wants to go, thank you very much. She doesn't need others in her head or making any kind of decision for her, and I pray for their souls if they ever think they're above her or know what's best for her apparently. Jazzy is still somewhat in her prime, and can make decisions for herself though this attitude may be because she feels like she's losing whenever she goes along with something someone else says or agrees. She's not competitive in the slightest, but losing has done nothing but mean bad things for her so she would very much like to avoid that

With being stubborn comes her also being rather mean in both her powerful kicks she has no problem delivering and her kind of attitude when speaking. She could bep considered somewhat of a pessimist if you'd like or you yourself would consider her to be as such, with her mainly throwing in comments of how she expects the worst of things to happen with a sarcastic or snarky tone being the normal accompanied by an eye roll or a less than pleased expression. Her tone is nothing other than either completely and utterly bored with whatever you may be discussing about, defensive when she thinks you're going for her in some sort of way, or an angry hiss in general whenever someone may be talking about something completely stupid and irrelevant to the moment or talking as if they know what the hell is good for her when she knows they don't. Don't tell her what to do, she has a brain and can think perfectly fine damn you and you're about to get a kick to the goddamn face if you don't shut up about your opinions anytime soon. Her words rarely carry even an ounce of care or concern no matter the subject even if others may be worried or there's a goddamn fire surrounding them. It would take on something more serious, bit still lack any kind of care for the others around her or even herself. It's as if she is always expecting the absolute worst case scenario to happen and welcoming it with open arms

Very often will others call her personality just her being a complete prick of a horse or jerk for no reason other than to take enjoyment at others demise but trust me when I say that Jazzy doesn't think highly of herself or something even close to special or above others at all. Her snark will never involve how she thinks she may be better than others and instead focus its attention on the horse in question, and a lot of her mean attitude comes from the view of wanting to protect and shield herself above everything else. Any sort of pain, the emotional kind especially, is something she strives to avoid above absolutely everything and she will stick to this belief even if it goddamn kills her and leaves her lonely. Attachments will get you killed or even emotionally scarred, and she doesn't need the constant overhanging dread and worry plaguing her mind every single day of her life. Worrying about keeping herself decently enough alive is already a task she has taken to fully and will dedicate herself to whenever she can, and she doesn't need someone else to constantly worry or fuss about. If she doesn't care about someone then the pain of losing them wouldn't be as harsh and such a kick to the face, and if nobody cares about her then they won't feel such… unimportant feelings if anything else much more dire or important were to happen or go on. She just wants the pain of loss to stop for herself and everyone else, and believes keeping others from caring about her will somewhat help with that

-Thinks someone is always out to get her
-Will cooperate and be less of a prick to horses who have shown her respect and/or kindness

-On edge, feels she can never relax
-Easy to spook
-While she hides it, words can easily hurt her
-Trust issues, or just issues in general

i wonder if it means something that i always get this role-

Hawthorn

Eight Years

Stallion

The Stolen Herd

New Lead Stallion

Screenshot-2021-07-29-11-03-02-AM.png

credit to xxMysteryStockxx on da

Hawthorn stands at 17 hands, 5'8 in more direct terms. His figure is broadly built, enunciating the muscles that flex under his red tinged coat. With a proud standing, his neck arched in a confident expression, his head is often held with the nose almost pointing at the ground. One of his eyes has the pupil blown out of proportion, making the light amber iris extremely thin around the outside of the black circle. It shifts his appearance into one that gives off a slightly creepy atmosphere, as it isn't natural and the result of a head blow.

Carrying this large stallion are oddly sculpted legs. While they have definitive structure, they're clearly designed more for speed and precise blows than brute strength. The stature at which he holds himself is one of assertive nature, a bit of a cliche protagonist kind of posing going on. His coloration has a base of a brown/black mixture, with an iron sort of highlight to it, giving light to a coat properly named blood bay. A white star rests on his forehead, dripping downward in a fashion that makes it appear to melt, framed by a curly black mane.

Due to the battle that took place when he fought to gain control of the herd, fresh injuries litter his body. A wide, bloody gash streches from the middle of his chest across his shoulder, clearly from another horse's hoof. Clumps of his mane are ripped out, scattering obvious pieces of said mane over him. Places around his shoulder bear teeth imprints, mild bruising beginning to arise. His back left leg has a decently sized lump on it, giving him a slight limp.

Across his back is a long scratch mark, likely from some type of starving, predatory beast. It twins with one of his ears, the tip of which is missing.

-

There's no doubt that Hawthorn is dominant. It's on show with his pride and narcissism, as he is an apathetic creature. In the eye that can express emotion, it holds dull anger and disdain for all around him. He has distate for the mares he now commands, seeing them as below himself. If eye contact is made, he takes it as a direct challenge, and even if it's accidental, he'll happily go through with a punishment. In his eyes, they aren't sentient, and they have no feelings.

Despite having a body built for careful attacks, this stallion is a brute in and out of battle. Arrogance and overconfidence give birth to his weaknesses, as he views himself as someone too strong to lose. So far in life, his actions have had no consequence, so there's no need to be cautious. Bursts of anger are often spontaneous and without reason, and it is likely to result in the injury of another. In combat, he forgets to watch himself, and can be goaded into reckless behaviour. As a vessel who is simply holding anger and hate, there isn't much depth to him.

-

As of current, Hawthorn has no love interests.
Offspring is open, though it probably wouldn't be in the stolen herd-

Honestly unsure, any type of large dog.

we've roleplayed together before, so there's not an example included

Shantae

Mod Edit: Image removed, needs credits

Age

4

Gender

Female

Herd

The Stolen Herd

Rank

Herd Mare

Appearance

Shantae is around 15 hands, slightly shorter than her mother. She has the chestnut coloration of her father, but a few white patches adorn her fur, few and far between. She bears one on her left shoulder, one on her back slightly to the right, and one on the upper front of her back left leg. She also has a white stripe on her face that looks quite a lot like her father’s. Her build is very strong, but also lean and with a short coat. Her face is fairly thin and docile-looking, and her eyes are a deep brown that resemble a dark-wooded tree. Her lashes are red and blend in very well with her fur so that they’re hardly visible. She has medium-length hair and a fairly short tail, but both are soft and smooth. They’re slightly lighter than her actual coat. Her coat is also very smooth, as she spends a good deal of time grooming herself. She has fairly thin legs, though definitely sturdy, and her hooves are greyish-pink. She has a small scar on her chest from a mountain lion attack that her father had defended her from when she was young.

Personality

Shantae is an extremely proud mare. She’s quite taken with herself, it seems, and is a very regal and refined kind of horse. She always holds herself erect, and is constantly thinking about how other horses see her. She’s proud as well of her parentage and particularly of her mother. She considers parentage an especially important aspect of any horse, although she’s not so self-absorbed that she looks down on horses with less desirable parentage than her. Rather, she likes to know about other horses’ parents and their relationships with them. Shantae is extremely absorbed in the idea of tradition, and this is where she becomes a major problem in the herd. She was upset, yes, when things changed. She was confused when the roles were switched around. She was hurt when their herdmates left. But she is a rule-follower, a highly traditional mare, and if the new lead male won fair and square, well, that means he’s their new lead stallion. And even if she doesn’t like it, Shantae will follow him to the ends of the earth, just like she would have done with her father. And she’ll openly admit it, too, to the other mares as well as to the new lead stallion. Although she won’t go as far as to tattle on the other mares if they disagree, she will certainly argue that they ought to respect and obey their new lead stallion. Whether he means well or not isn’t the issue here. What is at stake here is the sacred, time-honored respect that all lead stallions command from their herd, and the herd’s undying fealty.

Shantae is not an entirely conceited horse. She understands the motivations and needs of the horses in her herd, and argues logically for whatever it is they believe in. She prescribes only to logic and reasonable thinking, and her only unwavering fallacy is her devotion to tradition. She was always a good horse to have around for problem-solving, though she has nothing but practical solutions to emotional problems, which tends to drive other horses crazy. She’s also incredibly bad with foals, who she makes absolutely no allowances for. She has no imagination, and doesn’t humor those who do. To her, the idea of make-believe is silly. There are things that are real and true, and there are things that aren’t. This is how it’s always been, and if you let foals go around pretending, they’ll grow up to be highly confused and irritating individuals. She seems to have forgotten that she played her fair share of pretend when she was a foal.

This being said, she’s always been quite close with her family. She adores her mother, who she considers one of the greatest assets to the herd, even without her position as deputy mare. She has enough respect for her mother that she won’t bicker with her, though intelligent discussions are not out of the question. Should things get too heated, though, Shantae generally defers to her mother, in words if not in actions. She also greatly admires her father, so it was a shock to her when he was defeated. Although she maintains that the new lead stallion did win fair and square, she also wishes very much that this weren’t the case. Sometimes she catches herself blaming her father for losing the fight, although she knows this really isn’t fair. (Will add about her sibling when they’re added). Despite her strong familial bonds which threaten now to clash with her traditional values, Shantae has never shown any interest in mating or having foals herself. She doesn’t dislike foals, nor does she scoff at love, but after seeing her mother and father together she longs for a romance like theirs. And though she’s shown interest in a few stallions, none of it feels real enough. When it happens, when it really happens, she’ll know. And then she’ll have a mate. And maybe some foals. But until then, she doesn’t want to waste her time on half-assed attempts at love. It’s only the best for her.

Shantae isn’t nearly as headstrong as many horses in her herd. She’s not gentle, either, but she’s easily swayed by logos, though rarely by pathos. She enjoys intelligent debate, as long as things don’t get out of hand. She’s willing to see the sides of all arguments, but will generally walk away with the same opinions she came in with. She’s very fond of stories, not made-up ones but legends the herd has about horses in the past and the actions they took that brought them to where they are today. She loves the unknown as well, such mysteries as death and the stars, things that have no explanation or a million explanations. It’s the possibilities that excite her. These are the semblance of childlike wonder she retains, though reality always takes precedence over speculation.

Crush

Though Shantae has had crushes on several of the stallions in the herd, she has none right now.

Mate

Shantae’s waiting for the perfect stallion. Even if she had been asked to be someone’s mate, she would have turned them down - someone can have had their character do this if they want.

Offspring

Shantae is yet to have any foals despite her age, and a fear of them being killed would stop her even if she wanted to now.

Sagira is finished I believe; just have to write out Saulceris's personality and he'll be finished too!

This mare is nearly the same height as her mother, standing less than a hand shorter than her. Coming to a total of 14.1 hh, her height when she finishes growing around 4 years of age, will be 15.2 hh. Ria is still a young mare, and while she is no longer a yearling, she will continue to do a bit more growing. The photos above show more of her adult appearance, she is just slightly smaller as of now. She takes after her mother’s painted look for her coat color, but instead of black and white markings, she has white and chestnut, which she got from her father. As of now, the chestnut takes on more of a reddish hue and is visible sleek, and healthy.

The majority of this young mare is chestnut, with her white markings being a stripe on her face, three high stockings and on her front right leg, she has a white stocking. She does have markings of a paint but also has two spots. They are white and are smaller, but are on the left side of her neck, and are mostly hidden by her mane.

Speaking of her mane, this creature has a long gorgeous one. With the top half being the same color as her coat, and the bottom half is white. Her tail still has a little bit of growing to do. Though it will reach nearly to the floor when it does finish growing. Its color is white, though the ends turn to more of a yellowish-chestnut color, similar to her mane.

Personality:

At a glance, this female seems cold and antagonistic. With her steely gaze, a stare that would seem to burn right through you. And her posture, it’s almost intimidating the way she carries herself with such grace and confidence, head held high in a way that suggests she’s above you. Which she is. Her face often is sitting in an RBF or resting bitch face. With her eyes narrowed and facial expression seeming constantly pissed. All of this may add up to some form of intimidation when you first meet this female, as she seems to appear beyond her years. That and she tends to talk sharply when in the presence of strangers, she means to be like this to show that she is unafraid of anything you might throw at her. Though she still does fear at her age, she will often put up a wall of confidence to hide it. She will attempt to not let any doubt or fear slip into her words, she will not appear weak or frightened in front of those she does not know and tries to do the same with the other herd mares she doesn’t know too well. This is how she shows herself to outsiders, which includes the new lead stallion, and I doubt she would change her approach.

With her friends, Ria is a whole new mare. She is friendly, and supportive though is not one to make friends quickly, so her circle of friends may be a bit small. She wants to try and bond with more of the herd mares during this difficult time. She hopes to do this through mutual hate for the new lead stallion, it took all of her will not to throw herself at him out of rage for killing her younger brother. This young mare still has a lot to learn and can be impulsive like that, she also has a slight temper and attitude, thought that will slowly disappear with age, as she gains more wisdom.

The new lead makes her uncomfortable when she is in his presence, there is just something about him that makes her feel this way. Maybe it’s knowing that he has the blood of all the foals and yearlings on his hooves. Or maybe it was his intimidating size. She also shakes ever so slightly around him, and this is out of two things. Pure hatred, and then just being uncomfortable. This mare will hold a grudge, and she does defiantly have one against Hawthorn, it’s one she will never forget.

When it comes time for her to have foals, if the new LS and his lieutenant are around she will refuse. Ria will not be forced to bear the foals of such awful creatures, and won’t be afraid to defend herself. Giving them a sharp nip or a swift kick to the rump. She may even leave. This mare gets to decide who her mate is, not some temporary cold-blooded stallion only looking to carry on his line. She will be stubborn and refuse to let someone else take control of her life. Since it is possible for mares to breed at two years of age, she is wary of the new stallions and their ambitions, though has no plans to become a mother that young. A fight will be coming their way if one decides to try something. When she eventually does have offspring, she will be more of a stricter mother, leading with an ‘iron hoof’ and will do her best to educate them as soon as possible.

When it comes to safety or an important topic. This young mare is a no-nonsense type of gal and especially hates to beat around the bush. Extra details and an elaborate story don’t need to be told if the information could threaten the herd. She does like the occasional story, but not if it is trying to soften the blow from the truth. Ria is strong and can be somewhat mature in this category, she can take it. This also shows her less patient side, she can wait for some time, but not long, and won’t wait for others to drag their hooves. Though this can change if it is family, she is calmer around her siblings and parents. In fact, she is also quite protective of them, that’s also why she reacted strongly to her younger brother's murder. This female would defend her family with everything she has.
