Iru smiled then gave a tired sigh. Her day had been busy even before meeting these two. Running from danger atleast twice and helping an injured Starfire. There had been quite a bit of shifting throughout the day aswell so she was rather worn out. "I think I'll try get some sleep aswell, it's been a long day" she said, murmuring a quiet goodnight as she curled up tightly and stuck her muzzle under her tail. It'd probably be few minutes before she was actually asleep, but this was a good place to start with. (Tis short, sorry) |

"I think I'll try get some sleep aswell, it's been a long day." Iru said, curling up tightly. Starfire said quietly, "Goodnight." He watched her for a moment before going to the entrance of the den. Sitting down, he wrapped his tail around his paws standing lookout. He trusted Night's illusions but he just wanted to make sure. He knew that the dogs would be out during the night but not the hunters. He watched and listened as the wind blew and the trees swayed. (It's fine^^) |

Within a few minutes, her form relaxed and her breathing became slow and steady as she fell asleep. Her ears flicked slightly when Starfire moved, but she remained motionless otherwise. The field was peaceful, flowers peaking out from the the slightly dry grass, waving lazily back and forth in the light breeze and causing a rippling affect. Iru trotted easily across the field, following small, winding paths. Occasionally stopping to hop up onto the rubble that lay strewn and hidden all over, peering ahead to see where she was going. There was no specific direction to go in. "Iru!" Her ears pricked up at the distant call, tail coming to life for a moment before she dashed off in search of the familiar voice. But the further she went, the darker things seemed to become around her. "Iru!" This time her eyes became wide and ears flattened, her strides becoming desperate. The voice had changed..it was frightened. She crashed through the grass that only seemed to become thicker and fight against her. Slowing her down. Until she was plunged into darkness. She tumbled, her paws struggling to find the ground before finally regaining her footing. She was about to call out but was stopped when something came hurtling at her through the air and flung her away with a loud boom. Slowly, she staggered to her paws once more, now struggling to open her eyes. Where was she? Where was she?! Iru lunged out desperately only to crash into something and be drawn back, her limbs growing heavy and useless. Her vision blurred, helplessly watching the familiar scene infront of her. Fortunately for once barely able to make out any details. In reality, Iru lay silent as the night passed. The only sign of unease being the fine mist that swirled beneath her fur. Something barely noticeable, but definitely there. |

Starfire watched as she fell asleep before turning back to the entrance. He could hear dogs in the distance, but knew they wouldn't come this way. They stayed away from this place for a few reasons that he didn't know. Night knew more about this place then he did. Looking over at Night, he wondered what he was dreaming about at the moment.

Clouds drowned out the light, thunder rumbled and lightning struck. The storm grumbled as screams pierced the air. Night shrunk farther into the den as his father attacked the hunter. Dogs came up before slinking into the den. Night backed up as far as he could, trembling. Light flashed beside him and suddenly, a beast rose from the shadows. Half lion, half wolf, it lunged for the dogs, killing one instantly. One got away and spread the tale.
Long fangs sliced the darkness, making a tear in the memory. Night fell through the hole before landing on his feet. Before him was the familiar scene. His father howled as his final order. Night got picked up and he struggled to go back to his dying father. He was placed in the den before the others ran out to help. Night could only watch as one by one they fell. The hunter dogs started for the cave before backing up. The sides started to shine a dim black. Patterns threaded their way into each huge obelisk.
Snake, Fox, Cougar, Wolf, Dragon and Lion. Each came to life, scaring the hunters and dogs away from the now ruin. Night crawled out of the den to find the bodies of his pack but their symbols on obelisks around the clearing. He knew it must have been his father. The power to give souls into unmoving objects. 'That's what those symbols on their shoulders meant.' Night thought before looking to his own. Nothing. But it didn't matter. He needed to find his friend and make sure he was okay.
Starless Night looked to be sleeping peacefully as the night passed. Illusions spread along his features before disappearing. Quick twitches of his ear was the only noticeable thing that could be seen. |

Morning came around, the sun just barely peering over the horizon. Iru awoke with suddenly from her sleep. Her head came up quickly and ears flattening in mild panick as she failed to remember where she was for the first few seconds. She settled after a moment and gave a soft sigh. She was safe, there was years in between her and what fueled her nightmares. With a yawn, she got up to stretch and shake herself out. The mist fading out from her fur. Then she sat herself down, needing a moment to waking up entirely. |

Morning came around, the sun not up yet. Starfire ventured out before trotting to the forest. After a moment of stalking, he caught a rabbit before hiding it under a bush to come back to it later. Stalking forward, he scented around before finding a small doe eating grass. Staying close to the ground, he suddenly lunged forward, his jaws circling the does throat. The doe struggled for a moment before going still. Picking it up, he slung it onto his back before fetching his rabbit. He panted slightly looking around before heading back towards the den.

Starless woke up and immediately was on his feet, looking around. Seeing Iru, he relaxed before shaking out his fur. Shifting into a wolf, he stretched before licking his fur to stop it from bristling. He hadn't had that dream for a while. But then again, he was back in his old den. He just hoped no one noticed the alpha headress settled in one corner. The last thing he needed was someone to tell him to go recreate his pack. Shaking his fur again, he yawned before flattening his ears to calm himself. |

Iru jumped when Night suddenly moved, her eyes wide and ears flattened once more. "Bad dream?" She asked cautiously, her head tilted slightly. It was going to take some time to get used to being around others, if she even ended up sticking around that long. Now that she thought about it..there was currently only one 'other'. "Where'd Starfire go?" She asked. Realizing that Night had only just woken up aswell, but figuring that he might have atleast a rough idea. Then again, it probably didn't matter all that much where he was in the end, she mainly asked out of curiosity and habit. |

Night sat down before hearing Iru. "Ah yes, this place used to. . .be my home." He looked around once before sighing, "Oh, Starfire must have gone hunting." He said before looking at the one wall. The drawing of a half wolf half lion shone on the wall, seemingly staring at him. He flattened his ears, "I have bad memories of this place." He muttered before hearing Starfire come back. A doe was on his back and a rabbit on his back. "Hope your hungry." Starfire said playfully, dropping the rabbit and the deer. |

"Aah, I'm sory" she said softly in understanding. It had been so long since she had been in what used to be her home, she couldn't imagine the amount of memories it would bring back. Many would probably be pleasant, but there'd be the fair share of unpleasant ones to unpack to get back to those again. If the place even still stood...She had absolutely no idea what had become of it after that day. Her ears pricked up at the approaching foot steps and she looked over to see Starfire. And he brought food in a doe and a rabbit. When was the last time she had eaten? If you asked her stomach the answer would be days. Not true ofcourse, but it felt like it. Shifting took energy and it couldn't be replaced by sleep only. "Starving" she answered with a light playfulness to what he said. Trying to further lighten the mood. Wallowing in the past and in nightmares wasn't a fun way to spend the day. Especially in a world like this one. There was too much misery going about already. |

Starfire started eating from the doe and Night joined him. Starless seemed distracted, but Starfire knew better. "Would you like to see them before we leave here?" Starfire said gently. Night looked over at him before nodding slightly. Starfire could barely remembered the last time he had seen them himself. After he was done eating, he turned to Iru. "This used to be Night's old territory. His father should be around here somewhere..." Starfire trailed off as Night walked out and started for a huge obelisk in the center of the clearing.
Starfire sat down and watched as Night circled it twice before letting out a piercing howl. A rumble started up and Starfire flattened his ears. The rumble suddenly died down as a misty form came from the obelisk. It landed beside Night before circling him. The wolf watched Night for a moment before looking over to Starfire. He dipped his head before raising it in respect. The wolf let out another howl, circling Night one more time before disappearing into the rock. Night walked back over to them before responding with a playful tone, "And father says hello. Let's get out of here." Starfire laughed before saying to both Iru and Night, "Yep, let's get out of here. He was creepier than last time." Night chuckled, "That's because last time, he was killing hunting dogs." Starfire nudged him, "True true." |
