Basic Plot: It's well into the future, technology of all sorts has become greatly advanced. With it came a war that raged all across earth. And while there has been plenty of time for things to heal since then, nothing is quite the same as it once was. A majority of old cities has been either reclaimed by nature or has become abandoned grounds for the poor, criminal...and shifters. Traveling through, or around, these places will bring you to the flourishing cities where the wealthy reside.
Shifters arn't very welcome among humans, the reason why you'll find them fighting to survive in the abandoned cities. Often quite literally. They're also hunted, sometimes to be killed and sometimes to be captured, by certain groups of people.
This leads to the meeting of two shifters. One injured and on the run from hunters, the other simply in the right place to help. Unfortunately they now find themselves being targeted by the hunters they escaped. |

Fangsoffire's Character
Name: StarFire Nickname(s): Star, Fi Age: 21 Gender: Male Main Species: Fire-Winged Wolf Appearence in human form: Starfire has pure black hair with piercing dark blue eyes. A light tan skin color and Starfire stands roughly at 5'10 feet, weighing 150lbs. Wears black colors, with occasional dark reds and oranges. Appearence in favorite form: Red stripes go down his legs with a few small scars. One long scar travels from his left ear down to his shoulder. Personality: Starfire keeps to himself but you will usually find him in a shifter fight. Mostly for the money, he is a, how you say it, do-gooder. However, you might want to make sure his reasons match what he is doing. One of the things he likes to do is be a 'Robin Hood', stealing from the rich to give to the shifters in the outer circle. He loved ducking bots and seeing how many times he can get in the same house.
Starfire can be quite outgoing and funny once you get to know him, but don't let it fool you. He can be cold and dangerous if he wants to be. He can be very protective of friends and family, and can be extremely dangerous if you mess with them. Might add more~ Likes: -Running and flying -Stealing from the rich/wealthy -Seeing another shifter smile -Getting away from hunters Dislikes: -Swimming -Family/Friends in trouble -Admitting he's hurt/injured -Being stuck inside Power: Other than the magnified healing powers, Starifire has a dangerous fire power. This fire power can produce several types of fire featured down below: Earth fire: The healing fire of them all, can not be used on himself but can heal others. This is also a sign of peace and will not hurt any living thing. Shadow fire: The most dangerous fire to weild as it disintegrates everything in it's path. Can only be used twice a day as it uses up a good bit of energy. Ice Fire: This type of fire freezes after being shot. The fire burns before freezing onto the opponent. Blue flame: Almost as deadly as shadow fire, however, it doesn't disintegrate anything. It burns like normal fire but will not harm friends, instead it will simply move around or over them leaving them unharmed. Purple Flame: Same properties of the blue fire, but is invisible. Note: All of these fires other than the blue and purple flame use up energy and can not be used in a period of an hour. Blue and purple flame being the main properties, can be used anytime. Other: Might add more~ And also, might add a side character as well. You can do the same. ^^ |

Name: Iruna Nickname(s): Iru, Runa Age: 20 Gender: Female Main Species: Fox Appearance in Human Form: Iru has a light frame, standing at more or less 5'3 feet and being around 120lbs. She has warm golden eyes with patches of light blue, her hair is kind of darker shade of silver and her skin somewhat pale, though still touched by the sun. She avoids clothes with bright colors and prefers looser and lighter fabric for free movment. Appearance in Favorite Form: Her eyes and fur match that of her human form. Her fur is in no way scruffy, but not very fluffy either. Having a slightly smoother and soft texture. Personality: Iru is somewhat of a cautious and non confrontational shifter and not extremly social either. And, as could be expected from a main form, she can be a bit skittish as times. Despite all this, if given no other option, you might find that she becomes surprisingly feisty and can stand her ground. Opposite of the stereotype of foxes being sly and manipulative, Iru is actually rather sweet, playful and caring should she settle down long enough to enjoy someone's company. It is, however, not beneath her to play tricks of people and she is rather smart. Likes: -Heights -Forests -Night skies -Peaceful places -Having fun Dislikes: -Open spaces (nowhere to hide) -Loud places -Being trapped -Crowds Power: Along with magnified healing powers, Iru manipulates a type of black mist/smoke. It's uses varies from simply reducing vision within the cloud, to suffocation. Depending on what she wants. When used to be harmless, it's more mist like and impossible to see very far. Much like if you were caught in a heavy mist..it's just black. And when used to suffocate, which can either cause death quickly or just lightly affect your lungs for a while, it's more like smoke. The mist can also be to turned into an acid like substance, causing severe burns to the skin and, ofcourse, can lead to death. Especially if inhaled. The smoke can also be used for something that falls in between the harmless and harmful meter. It can put people into a sleep when inhaled. Other: The fox became her main species due to the small size, allowing her move about in small spaces with ease. |

Name: Starless Night Nickname(s): Starless, Ni, "Partner in Crime" Age: 20 Gender: Male Main Species: Tiger Main Mythical Species: Griffin Appearence in human form: Starless has black hair with streaks of silver through it, green eyes and light tan skin. He stands at 6'1 feet weighing around 200lbs of pure muscle. Wears a variety of colors, mainly black, deep red, deep purple, orange, gold, and deep blue. Wears a diamond stud in one ear and a gold bling. Appearence in favorite form: Has a couple of scars around his body, the main one scarring from one ear down his shoulder. Personality: Starless Night is a quiet one, usually doesn't talk much around strangers. Will however, joke around with Starfire a lot. Thanks to his nickname, he is a wanted bastard but still helps out with Starfire. Starless can be a bit of a unique taste so when you are around him, be careful of his attitude. He can go from funny and humorous to cold and deadly in a blink of an eye.
Starless is the type of person that can make you mad without even trying. Most of his words have sarcasm in it which can be quite annoying unless you pick up the hidden meaning. He likes to annoy his opponents and make them think that they are winning when they are not. Might add more to this~ Likes: -Making people angry -Hanging out with friends -Robbing the rich -Getting past security just for fun -Confusing people Dislikes: -Cops that are not robots -Normal padlocks -Swimming -The outer rim/circle -Strangers Power: Magnified healing power Starless Night has the power of illusion. If he studies something hard enough, he can put the exact detail into his work and the illusion would look real. . .except for the people behind it of course. His illusions take energy, so he can do quite a few small ones a day but only 1 big one every 2 hours. This can develop into a stronger form of illusion where he can insert pain into the illusions. Starfire breathed out, ready for what he was about to do. Considering he did this often, it was going to be a harder one this time. Starless stood in human form beside as if his trainer. The crowd roared as the opponent was put into the room. Starfire panted slightly, his eyes scanning the opponent. The wolf's claws were extra long as were it's fangs but it was bigger than him.
The two stood transfixed on each other until the whistle was blown. Starless took off the rope, keeping one hand on his back. The opponent's 'trainer' did the same and the shifter calmed. The crowd died down, waiting for the big fight they had bet on. A roar went out as the games began.
Starless released him and ran for the barracades, leaping over them easily. The man for the opponent did the same but with a slight limp. The wolf lunged towards him, his eyes wild and ready to kill. Starfire sidestepped him easily, ramming his claws into it's side. Knocked off balance, the wolf struggled to regain it's balance. In the small moment it took, Starfire was already to the other side throwing him across the pen.
The rings of shapeshifter fights were made for those shifters who had seemingly gone mad. The crowd here was mostly wealthy people who had come to get drunk and waste their money. The longer he dragged out the match, the more money that piled on.
The wolf lunged again at him, all healed up and clawed him hard on the shoulder. Twisting, Starfire dug his fangs into the wolf's scruff shaking him before throwing him to the side. His wound was now healing. He looked around to find Starless behind the bleachers and smiled. His partner in crime was using his illusions to be invisible as he dug out wallets and valuables.
A snarl brought him out of his thoughts as the wolf shifted into a lion in front of him. Starfire grinned before shifting into a tiger. The crowd roared louder, not knowing that there valuables were disappearing. The lion lunged baring it's fangs and Starfire jumped over it clawing it's back. It roared before turning clawing at him. Only one hit made it as he bit the paw, breaking it. The lion went to one side limping before circling. |

The outskirts of the big city wasn't her favorite place, but it was the best place to get your hands on food if you didn't have the money to pay. It wasn't as heavily guarded as deeper into the city and you weren't as likely to get hurt as if you tried to steal from stores in the outer rim. And she didn't feel so bad stealing from the people here, they could actually afford losing some items. So despite her not liking this area, she still often found herself here when she ran of supplies. Supplies being food. She darted into a quiet and shadowy alley way and there stashed a bag that already contained a couple cans of food and some dried foods. Whatever didn't go stale or bad fast was the best option and stashing it while looking for more stuff saved her from losing everything should she get caught. After making sure no one would be finding her stash, Iru stepped back out of the alleyway. Her golden eyes taking in what surrounded her. The streets here was busy with all sort of characters and there were multiple stores to pick from. It'd be much easier if she had a way of earning money, but she didn't have the strength for the shifter fights, wasn't even going to think about some of the other options and she wasn't desperate enough to get involved in some of the sketchy shifter groups that could be found in the outer rim. Besides, she had been doing alright so far. And getting a job among the humans just wasn't a option as a shifter. Picking out a store with the best chances, she headed in that direction, stepping inside with some reluctance. She was met with cool air and bright lights, her form going tense for a moment before she took a deep breath to calm herself. Her gaze swept over the isles, opting to study the counter and the person behind out the corner of her eye instead. This would take some patience. She'd pick out what she wanted, and wait for someone else to leave so she could dart out alongside them. Leaving without buying something would be a bit suspicious. She disappeared further back into the store where she wouldn't be noticed much, eyeing out her options from there and slowly starting to hide the items she took in her slightly oversized jacket. Always keeping alert to make sure no one saw her and keeping an eye on the people to see when would be the best time to leave. She couldn't wait too long either, her presence would eventually be noticed and she'd be questioned. Something she would like to avoid if possible. |

Starfire panted before roaring to the crowd. More bets went around and Starless suddenly appeared back at the barracks. He signaled with his right hand for 3 more minutes and Starfire gave a slight nod. The lion lunged shifting into a bear and Starfire dodged to the side shifting into a wolf.
Yes, he was smaller. Yes, the crowd had gone wild wondering what he was doing. Yes, the rapid shifter was now looking at him hungrily more than wanting to fight. And yes, everyone thinks a bear will win a fight with a wolf right? Because that always happens? Errr, wrong. Starfire was about to do what the wealthy believed was "impossible". The odds of him winning? 0% to the crowd. To him? 100%
Starfire circled faster around the bear, now sprinting and it was trying to keep up. Jumping, he twisted landing squarely on the bear's back. His back claws dug straight into the bear's back holding on as his front claws scoured the bears eyes, blinding him. Jumping off, he rolled underneath the bear as it reared biting it's soft underbelly. It slammed down on him but immediately went back up as if burned.
Starfire heard a low whistle and saw Starless waving his hand in the shape of a peace sign. Time to go. Starfire lunged straight at the bear before dodging to the side and leaped, his fangs tearing straight into the bear's throat. Hanging on, he shot shadow fire straight through it's blood disintegrating it's insides. The bear roared in pain before crashing down.
Starfire jumped to the side as it fell before putting a paw on the bear letting out a howl of triumph. The crowd was yelling and roaring and on their feet now. Bets were coming down before being passed over to Starless Night who now stood beside him. Starless put it all in a bag before coming down to his level, "Twice as much as the last time." Starless whispered in Starfire's ear and Fi yipped in victory.
Starfire and Starless walked side by side out of the ring before disappearing into the woods where Starfire shifted into a human form. Bumping fists with Starless, he asked, "How much?" Starless rifled through the money before saying, "2-3 thousand just from the fight." Star let out a contented sigh before Night went on, "And at least 500 for each jewel I stole from the wealthy."
Starfire went through that through his head before saying, "Okay, two jewels per shifter on the outer rim. You start the north side, and I will get the southern side." Starless nodded before handing him half of the bags. Night then turned into an eagle, gliding into the skies high above. Starfire shifted into a wolf before going into a loping run towards the stores on the southern side. |

By the time Iru determined it as time to bolt from the store, she had managed to gather and carefully hide a couple more canned foods and other things that wouldn't expire easily, along with a fruit or two as a sort of treat. All hidden carefully in pockets she had sewn in on the inside of her jacket. Placed carefully in places to the least noticeable as she could make it. She positioned herself carefully, watching as the small group of people checked out at the counter. She had been keeping a close eye on them for a while, they were her escape. Unkown to them ofcourse. And now, as they started to leave, she merged with them momentarily and slipped out the door. A well timed moment and even if someone noticed, she had long since faded in among the people outside. She carefully picked her way back to the alley way that she had stashed her bag in. Before pulling it out from where she hid it, she ensured she was alone, then hastily removed the items from her jacket and stuffed them into the bag. She didn't want to stick around her for too long. Bots patrolled actively even if not as heavily as in some places and she didn't want to take her chances with one of them. As she stepped out of the alley way, her gaze settled on a bot. Speak of the devil..."Hey!" The shouted word sent a chill down her spine and she looked in that direction. Recognizing the man as the person who had been behind the counter of the store she had just stolen from. She hadn't been careful enough... Without a second thought, she bolted. Her small and light firm allowing her to weave about the people with ease. Using the busy streets to her advantage once more. And she didn't slow down until she had made her way back into the outer rim. Only when she felt that she was in safe area did she come to a stop, taking deep breaths. She made sure she didn't have a tail, then dropped down to catch her breath in a quiet corner. Resting her head back against the wall she leaned against. She wanted to get home right about now. Being out here wasn't safe either. Hunters could easily be out and about by now. That would be an even less pleasant situation to be in. Soon enough, she was back on her feet, carefully picking her way about the quiet streets. She was far more used this than she was the busier streets of what could be considered the "inner rim". Not quite really the city yet, but better off than the outer rim. |

Starfire trotted through the streets, some of the people looking at him. Ignoring them, he weaved his way in and out of the people and alleyways before transforming into human as he stopped by a door. Knocking, he waited before the door opened. The woman inside saw him and immediately looked around before pulling him inside. He gave her the small bag before whispering in her ear, "Get these traded in to the Eastern merchants when they come into shore tomorrow." She nodded before he slipped out her back door.
Shifting into a small fox, he wound his way through the streets until he came to the next shifter house. This process repeated for about ten minutes before he finished with the bags. He was on his way back when a robot went by and started beeping loudly. He shifted instantly letting out a howl to those nearby. Up, go up! Falcons, hawks, eagles and more suddenly appeared, making for the clouds above.
He knew that once they were up in the clouds, that Starless would turn his illusions on to hide them. Running as a wolf, he diverted the hunters attention to him. Shouts rose up behind him before he spread his earth fire behind him. Looking back, he watched as they stopped before the hounds jumped through it. He groaned inwardly. He hated the robogs as they called them. Half machines and half dogs, they could run as long as a hovercar and track scents through any terrain.
Except air of course. He thought remembering that Starless had figured out their weakness. Jumping, he bounced off a tree before doing it again. The dogs took a little more time than usual but kept coming. Wings appeared on his back, flapping down hard making him shoot skywards. He was almost to the clouds when searing pain went straight through his wing.
He let out a yip before he started falling through the air. He managed to straighten himself and guide himself to the inner rim where it would be harder to find him. He crashed down towards an alleyway before suddenly pulling up. He tumbled a little bit before rolling to a stop. He opened his eyes once, finding himself in a secret hideout of some sort. As long as it's not hunters. . .Was all he could think before he passed out. |

Iru froze in place when a warning howl rang out through the air. Soon after birds of all kinds took to the air, fleeing to safety. Instead of doing this, for some reason, Iru shifted into the form of a fox and bolted. She wasn't that far from the inner rim and judging from the location of the howl, she should be safe to go in that direction and hide there. What she considered home was easily accessed from there too. She'd seen before what could happen if you were in the air and they could spot you. Her small paws carried her swiftly across the ground and back into the inner rim. She kept to the shadows and stayed on the move. Searching for a place where she would temporarily hide and make sure she was safe before making her way home. Except...as she made her way through an alleyway something came tearing down from the sky and tumbled onto the ground infront of her. At first she yelped and shot away to hide behind a clearly old and rusting away dumpster. Staring out from there with wide eyes. Then she realized it was a shifter...and winged wolf. And he was injured. She crept out towards the still figure, glancing about nervously. If this was caused by the Hunters, they would likely soon be coming in this direction. This left her with the choice of getting herself out of there right now...or helping this shifter. One half of her just wanted to run, the other couldn't leave a fellow shifter to be captured or killed. With a anxious whimper, she shifted into the larger form of a wolf. As fox, she wasn't going to be able to budge the shifter. If only he had taken a smaller form... With quite a bit of effort and more time than she was comfortable with, Iru managed to get the both of them to safety. The amount of blood had her a little frightened though. She felt better being home though. It was within one of the entirely abandoned part, all buildings torn down from the war and a new forest formed over the rubble. Her "den" consisted of an old cement tunnel of sorts that was buried beneath the rubble. The entrance small and hidden from sight. This is where she dragged the unconscious shifter into before making sure there was no trail that could be followed in. Now sure that they were safe, she rushed back in to see to the shifter. Luckily she had the smarts to keep a well stocked medical kit. After a while, the wound treated, Iru chosen to shift into her fox form and had curled herself up in one corner. Warily keeping an eye on the injured guest, waiting for him to wake up. However, tired after a long day, she had started to doze off slightly. |
