"It's hard to calm down" Steven noted, "I've probably never been this angry, except the one time my sister threw me into the pond and leaches were stuck to me, but that even wasn't as irratating" Steven smirked, "Sometimes, Beku doesn't stop to think about the possibilities," he sighed, shaking his head.

Oak chuckled as he shared the memory. "I wonder how your sister is doing. What possibilities are you thinking of in this situation, Steven?" She glanced around camp as they were greeted with nods.

Steven let out an ammused rumbled, "That his sister killed the Beta then came up with the excuse of him dying in quicksand to make Beku Beta, or that she made the Beta go into the quicksand.... and many more possibilities including Genni and the Beta and Quicksand" He murmered.

Oak cocked her head. "Why do you keep saying that she knew he would become beta? It could have been any of the pack. And besides, it just for the day."

Steven shrugged, "I just don't think the Beta dying when Genni was there is a coincidence," he yawned, "Whatever, to each their own." He padded into his den and curled up for the night.

Oak sighed as he trotted off. She left to the females den and yawned, laying down. One glanced at her and whispered, "You're back. And in heat too, I see." She lifted her head. "Yes, I'm fine. I found that out yesterday. I'm glad Steven did nothing." The other female nodded. "Thats good. But you will have to be amongst the others tomorrow when Shadow annunces the new beta." Oak lay her head back down. "Thats right.. Well, I will stand by females."

Steven woke up, a strange feeling drawing him into the woods, he hobbled out of camp, stealthily slipping unseen past the gaurds. When he was younger he remembered how much training he did to get his stealth in order. He padded off into the woods, knocking his limp leg against various things. He winced and slid through a patch of ferns. He sat, sitting on the banks of the huge lake, looking at the constelations in the sky. He saw one that looked like a wolf, It looks like Oak, he realised in shock. The sky lit up in streaks of purple and green waves, they danced across the sky like waves in a disturbed pond. He swore he saw Oak in the waves of light to, but he didn't know. He stared in awe at the sky, and lay down under the stars, not feeling tired at all.

Beku sighed and shifted. He simply could not sleep. He sat up, then padded quietly out of the den. He slipped silently out of the camp and soon arrived at the large lake. Spotting another wolf laying on the bank, he meandered over. He sat down next to the wolf and saw it was Steven. He did not speak, but instead waited for the other male to say something.

"Nice to see you here" Steven acnowledged his presence coldly, not breaking his gaze from the sky, aware of the tensity between them, Oh come on, he's young, he doesn't know any better, He thought. He sighed, "Hey, I'm sorry for how I was acting earlier, and you're right, I do love Oak" He murmered.

Beku nodded, then glanced at him. "Its alright. I suspected as much. And I think she likes you back." He said, matching the others tone. He sighed, staring out at the dark waters of the lake. The moon shone on the center of the lake, creating a white circle.
