Akousa

Male||Four||Pack Member||Mentions:Takara, Casek, Leviathan.(Ind.) Eira, Kyomi, others..

I wonder what she’ll say..He continued his current position, neatly sat with tucked paws beneath his chest whilst he briefly admired the way the daylight flitted over her shaded coat. She seemed to be avoiding his gaze for now, but Akousa just guessed she was temporarily overcome with shy surprise at his invitation. After all, just look at him. A tall, charming, handsome creature with a brilliant mind-- Yea, he’d be giddy too. Just as he was about to slip out a reassuring remark, a new voice cut through the easing atmosphere and he watched as Casek strode over, situating himself beside Takara. For a second, a fit of jealousy flinched inside of him but he ultimately let it cool out with ease, instead turning his stare towards the bronze riddled male.

“How are you beautiful creatures doing this fine day?” Oh you know, just trying to get Takara to love me. He knew the question wasn’t really directed at him, but it had long ago become a habit to hash out mental answers whenever the word ‘beautiful’ was spewed in a sentence; his inward responses almost always sincere and even a bit silly. But this time it had an edge of sarcasm to it and he had to physically stop himself from wrinkling his face in annoyance at the large Casek. He knew Eira was watching him, and he somewhat anticipated some sort of snarky retort to spill from her teeth at his mention to her sister but it never came. It actually wasn’t very long until he felt the weight of her presence leave.

But then again he finally took notice of an empty space where Kyomi used to be and figured Eira had gone to pursue her. Hah, wherever Kyomi goes, Eira follows. Guess she isn’t as independent as I thought. He gave off a soft snort before redirecting his gaze towards Takara as her mumblings of a reply finally began. “Uh..” He slightly leaned forward, swinging his ears to the side with anxiousness. Surely she was going to say yes. How could she turn him down? His current expression reflected his positive mind; a small smile and glad eyes.

Casek and I already made plans to eat together.”

“What?” He blurted, his gleaming eyes immediately pierced onto the figure of Casek whilst his friendly look molded into a mixture of hurt and exasperation. “Sorry, Akousa.” At her next knife stab in the chest, Akousa would swiftly shoot his vision back towards the dark pelted dame, withholding a burning glare that he’d later save for the redder figure of the male nearby. “Oh..It's quite alright.” He emitted a soft exhale and allowed his features to drip dejectedly, but his inner feelings were consumed by rage and hatred at..both of them.

How could you, how could you, how could you, how could you. He held back some hysterical laugh as he walked through his thoughts. Am I not pretty enough for you? Why can’t the oh-so high Takara for once spare a moment of seclusion with me? Am I that repulsive? Simultaneously he began to recall all the times he’s been turned down by her, but this was the first she’s had the excuse of plans with another male. Was this why she refused to get close to him? Because Casek got to her first? Almost as soon as the thought crossed his mind, Akousa turned his frigid gaze over towards the go-lucky brute and felt a moments dread possess him

He can’t compete with me. Im Akousa. I’m supposed to get the girl. The prince always wins, doesn't he. His last thoughtful words were more of a statement than a question, and he smoothly recollected himself, flicking his ears forward with gathered confidence. Yes, the prince does win. Before he could slink away to the calming confines of darkness to further brood, a sudden figure, a small one, crashed into the clearing; emitting a few yelps of words before later collapsing and striking everyone to a stiffened still. His eyes immediately sparked with interest and he trotted forward, silently peering down at the clump of flesh and fur a good distance away.

With a tilted head, he’d watch as the silence began to disturb, concerned mumblings ringing throughout camp whilst Leviathan swiftly leapt down and began to inspect the exhausted pup with a stern gaze. Before long orders were barked out as quick as a hare and he sharpened his limbs once he heard his name in the mix of wolves that were to go and join the battle. At first he felt flattered and pleased that he was trusted to go out ot on such a mission, but then he felt sick at the thought of having to coat his jaws in blood. Why couldn’t he just peacefully sulk for one second? He felt tired, his intricate emotions had taken a toll on him and all he felt like doing was resting beneath shade.

Nonetheless, he shouldered his way forth once Leviathan quickly headed for the thick woods, nothing but a small plume of dust left in his wake. Akousa would momentarily linger by the..carcass? --No, Leviathan wouldn’t order the others to keep a carcass safe would he? The little thing was alive, and honestly, he wasn’t so sure how he felt about that. Still, he’d pause long enough to take in the pups' appearance before loping off after the large male, taking up a swift canter that would soon lead him beside his hips. He wouldn’t dare leap forward and take the lead but the urge was still there.

Koa
Male | 7 Years | Eastern Sentry | Mentions: Ronin, NPC Rivals

Death had not yet come for him.

The male had heard a powerful snarl, one that he dimly registered as one belonging to Ronin, and felt a shift in the weight atop him. His eyes snapped onto his sentry partner, heart plummeting until it sat behind his spine, watching the mighty dame snap and bite at the wolves around them. She had turned back. She had turned back for him. This was against their training, this was against everything, but some part of him was grateful, even as guilt at her being injured curled in his stomach.

"Ronin," his voice was weak, struggling to come out through a strained throat, shaking with the effort of trying to get himself upright. The other pack wolves left him for dead, the wounds littering his body would have meant certain death had he not been helped very soon, and rounded upon his partner.

No. No, no, no.

Koa surged forward with what energy he could, flinging his weight into one of the wolves. It took them both to the ground, and the dark male focused his attention on the canid in his grasp. He would be of no use if he tried to take on more than one in his current state, but training and instincts helped him keep the canine on the floor. Even when the other tried to rise, the brute kept him to the forest floor. If all he could do was make the battle easier on Ronin by removing one opponent, then he would do that. She would not end up in the same condition as him.

The teeth of the wolf in his grasp bit into his chest and shoulders, sometimes rising up to try and grasp his throat but often not finding a good grip. His own littered the others face and neck, trying with what little energy remained to keep it occupied.

Something in him made him glance up. His gaze, in a split second, ran over Ronin and how she was doing with the confrontation, before flickering over to the forest that the other wolves had come from. It was unlikely anything was there, it was a precaution more than anything, and it's not like-

Oh.

Oh no.

"Ronin!" His voice was louder, harsh and strained with his barked tone, struggling against the other wolf for a moment. He couldn't keep it on the ground for long, and he felt the stranger surging up higher with every attempt at standing. "Ronin, there's more coming!"

He saw three figures among the brush of the other packs territory. Three fresh, uninjured, ready-to-fight figures. Three figures that were reinforcements. He could only pray that Leviathan had heard him howl, or that the pup, which he hadn't seen with Ronin, had made it back to the camp and told them what was happening. He hated praying, hated leaving his life up to some deity he couldn't see or hear or touch, but Koa felt himself begging a god that may or may not exist for help.

Please.

Eira
Female || 5 years || Pack Member || Mentions: Kyomi, Takara, Cyre, Leviathan, Enigma, Akousa
Indirectly Mentions: Ronin, Koa, Kallik

The tiniest, hint of a smile graced Eira's maw when Enigma had been punished by Leviathan. Good, that's what you get for laughing at Kyomi. That's what you deserve. A moment of pride seeped through her when her eyes upon the leader himself. He must have read her very mind. Surely that was why he punished Enigma. Well, it could also have been simply because she disobeyed his orders, but she chose to believe the latter. Regardless, Eira wanted to scream out a large thank you! Then again, that would seem odd, wouldn't it?

As if things couldn't get any better, her ears turned, having picked up the sound of Takara, yes, Takara, turning down Akousa! At that very moment, she adored, no, loved Casek for having asked Takara to dine with him earlier. Her eyes landed upon the male himself as they practically shone with gratitude. Oh, how everything was turning out! She could see it now! Kyomi and Kallik, followed by Takara and Casek! It would be wonderful! And Akousa? Well, he'd be all alone until he figured out how to act properly. In the meantime, he could hang around the pup that had arrived. Eira figured that they'd be similar in terms of mental age.

Speaking of him, Eira saw this as a chance.. an opportunity. A smug, conniving smile grew on her face as her amber eyes flickered onto him. "Perhaps next time, Akousa," she said, her tone laced with fakeness before she turned, her smile remaining until Leviathan began to call out orders. One point for Eira. Oh, she had won! Even Akousa had to agree, and the thought made her tail flick an inch, holding back a wag.

Then, she stiffened.

Leviathan had begun to call out orders.

"Takara, Cyre, and Kyomi, take the pup to one of the dens, keep him safe."

Good. At least her sister and best friend would be safe, as would Cyre, who was practically her mother figure. That was all that mattered to her.

"Eira, Kallik, Enigma, and Akousa, you all come with me."

Wonderful! Eira was thrilled to have been chosen. Granted, she never did enjoy a physical fight, but the fact that Koa was in trouble only meant that there were enemies, and Eira had no sympathy for those that harmed her pack. A determined look crossed her face, her head raising as she prepared to move, nudging Akousa in the process as he made his way forwards. If whatever was attacking Koa showed no mercy, than why should she? He wouldn't have howled, not if he weren't truly in trouble, as in a life and death situation.

Eira paused, fixated on the pup for a brief moment. He would be in good hands. He had the three most wonderful wolves caring for him. Takara, Kyomi, and Cyre would know what to do, and so Eira turned away, eyeing the already departed group. Glancing behind her for a brief moment to nod a silent goodbye, Eira turned, propelling herself forwards.

Legs moving in a blur, she had strained to catch up to her group, positioning herself near the front. Perhaps an inch or two ahead of Akousa, simply to spite him. How could she resist?

Head lowered, Eira ran, dodging shrubbery and weaving through trees. It was as if she were in her natural element the way she moved. She was so familiar with the territory, she could probably close her eyes and navigate it. However, what she wasn't familiar with was having seen wolves in the distance. Not singular, but plural. To be exact, there were four. Four wolves against Koa and Ronin. How unfair was that? And.. And.. No! There weren't four wolves, but seven! Had Koa and Ronin been fighting them off all along? No, it couldn't be. Some didn't even have scrapes upon them, which made her conclude that reinforcements were called.

The least they could have done was fight fairly.

And the disrespect! How dare wolves trespass, only to attack her packmates. Was there no common decency nowadays? No kindness? The audacity! Eira was truly surprised, and look at the state that Koa and Ronin were in! The mere thought alone caused a deep, spiraling anger to spark within her.

"Look, they're trying to kill him!" She suddenly gasped, watching a wolf bite into Koa's shoulders and chest. Well, at least she knew her first target. Eyes locked, shoulders tensed, and lips peeling back, Eira surged forwards.

"Fight fairly, you treacherous imbeciles!"

Without waiting for a command, she sprinted past the others, her body crashing against the wolf standing upon Koa.

Orion
Male || 5 Months || Pup || Mentions: None
Indirectly Mentions: Koa, Ronin

He heard muffled voices surrounding him. Some louder, some quieter, but noise nonetheless. Orion had tried to open his eyes all the way to no avail, seeing nothing but blurry figures. He was so tired, and he didn't feel so well. He was dizzy, and his body was sore. So sore, but he had made it. He had made it to safety. He had warned the pack, and now Koa and Ronin would be safe. A small smile formed on his narrow muzzle before his vision faded once more.

The next time he woke up, he was in a den.

Orion shifted, releasing a small whimper as he strained to lift his head. Eyes opened, a groan was sounded from the back of his throat. He felt as if he had been whipped around and used as a toy. Maybe even kicked a few times. His head throbbed, his mouth was dry, and his paws hurt to even stand on.

And why was he alone?

A pang of fear struck him. Maybe he was alone because the enemy wolves returned, killing the entire pack! Maybe they were about to rush into the den to get him! However, even with those thoughts, Orion found himself not caring as much. He couldn't run anymore. He would have no choice but to give up. Maybe beg for mercy and then give up. Perhaps volunteer to be their servant? Surely they'd let him live then. And if not, well, then at least Orion tried.

Grimacing, he curled up tightly, burying himself beneath some bedding, practically waiting for somebody to enter the den and kill him. The idea didn't seem so scary anymore, but maybe it was the exhaustion talking.

Besides, at least then he'd get to see his mother and siblings again.

Enigma
Female - Pack Member - 4 years - Mentions: Eira, Lev, Kallik, Akousa, Koa, who ever's at the fight (I lost track opps) (indirectly)

Enigma did not get very far when approaching the pup that had made it's dramatic entrance into the camp. Leviathan snarled at her attempting to remind her that he was in charge. Yeah, don't worry, I didn't forget. She rolled her eyes, but stayed back a ways from the pup. Enigma loved taking risks. It would get her adrenaline rushing through her veins giving her a feeling of invigoration and excitement. However, her weakness was putting others in danger when situations like this very one came up.

Enigma watched Lev evaluated whether or not the pup was a danger. He called for some pack members to take care of the little fluff ball and to keep him safe. "Oh joy. Another mouth to feed." She let out a sign and sat down to observe the sudden rush to take action. Enigma hadn't considered that the pup was actually alone. If it's alone, that must mean more wolves are nearby. Strangers. Its mother? Her thoughts where rudely interrupted by Lev's call to go with him to the Eastern border. "Really? Right now?" She groaned as she got up and reluctantly followed Lev into the forest. "We might be walking to our deaths." She mumbled in a depressed tone as she padded softly with the group of wolves that had been called.

Enigma stayed towards the back of the pack, as usual. Lev called all her least favorite pack members to go fight off whatever they were headed into. Akousa looked ridiculously anxious to lead this mission of death (as Enigma saw it). Eira seemed to desperately want to impress Akousa that she was barely a step ahead of him. And Kallik…was just Kallik. Enigma forgot why she didn't like him. I'll think of a reason.

When they came upon the commotion, Enigma stopped in her tracks. She was confused. Baffled. Puzzled. All the words to describe how dumbfounded she was at the scene before her. "What a mess." She said as she awaited instructions from Lev. Before she could make another sarcastic or snarky comment, Enigma was shocked to see Eira leap to defend Koa.

"Eira what are you doing? You're gonna yourself killed." She yelled after her as she started circling the wolf pile before her. "Ya gotta approach it a certain way." She said to herself. Not sure how, but I mean this can be resolved, right?

Cyre || Female || 16 || Elder || M: *Inhales deeply*

Takara, Eira, Kyomi, Akousa, Leviathan, Orion, Kallik, Casek, Enigma, Athena

Cyre beamed as Eira compared her to the party itself. Ah, what a lovely creature. She ruffed a thanks and stretched out a little more, eyes narrowing happily as a patch of shade moved enough for the sun to touch her face. Eira's response to Akousa brought a short chuckle and a "Go easy on him, dearest" before she smiled encouragingly at the brute. His save and relative level-headedness when returning the female's question earned a nod of approval from the old sentry.

"Casek!" she greeted, returning the nudge, also given to his paw. She was in no mood to move from her nice, sunny spot to poke his shoulder. Cyre couldn't stand that high, anyway; at least, not any more. Back in her day -- well, her day didn't matter anymore. Now she was focused on the current. Keeping her adopted children together.

The ancient wolf poofed up a little at Casek's compliment and returned it with, "Oh, my, well you are looking quite fetching today yourself!" - and, in a lower voice, "I am still alive and kicking, so I would say I am doing just swell."

The graying animal dipped her head to Kyomi in silent acknowledgement as she snuck away, knowing full well the pressure of being in a crowd. When she had retired from her sentry duties, the first few months had been spent in solitude. Going from having a partner to being alone in a pack full of wolves she had rarely spoken to was a hard transition and, while it was not the case for the light brown and golden female, Cyre guessed the feeling was very similar.

A very small pup chose a few moments later to make an utterly dramatic entrance. Immediately, the elder knew something was wrong, and the tiny creature's words confirmed it.

Ronin and Koa.

They need help.

With the strength from her younger years, the wolf was on all four paws, standing straighter than she had in nearly a decade and eyes on fire. Concern was intermingled with fury and the frustration that came with being too weak to help the sentries she had watched grow. She watched her fellow elder, Athena, approach the puppy along with Leviathan. Orders were sent out and wolves scrambled as the tension over rightful heirs was replaced for fear of the lives of their packmates. Finally.

At Leviathan's call, Cyre moved forward with a swiftness and ease that surprised even herself. She did, however, decide to let one of the younger dames pick up the poor creature. As wolves evacuated to go to the aid of the Eastern sentries, Cyre moved to the den where the pup lay and stationed herself outside it. The area around her became desolate. So silent, so eerie.

She heard slight movement in the cave and entered, eyes softening as they fixed upon Orion. Cyre released a low yip to let him know she was there, then said, "Alright. Listen to me, little one. You are safe here, understood? No wolf here will harm you or I will tan their hides."

She slowly moved forward and eased herself down next to him, resting her chin on her paws to get closer to his level and placed her tail behind the pup. "We will protect you, no matter what."

Larkspur || Female || 5 || Pack Member || M: Chocktaw, Cadmus, Hades, Lev, Others (Ind)

Her thoughts were interrupted by a pup crashing recklessly through the bracken. His pleas for help followed by a fainting episode sent a cold wave of foreboding through the female's body, and she was on her paws just a little slower than Cyre. Her eyes found Leviathan and she moved forward, waiting for the orders that were sure to come.

As she had predicted, the alpha parted his jaws and took authority. The moment her name was mentioned, the light female tensed and prepared to execute whatever order she received. Hers happened to be alerting her brother and Cadmus.

"On it," she said quickly, darting off without a second glance back. Koa's howl had found her, increasing the ice in her spine as she moved through the trees and underbrush as fast as she was able to without causing too much of a ruckus. Of course, right now, a commotion in the woods and scared off prey were the least of her worries.

Her paws moved against the earth with a rhythmic thrumming and a few birds sounded alarm calls around her, taking off from the forest floor and the lower bushes. Larkspur ignored them. She whipped through the territory as fast as she could, resisting the urge to take a moment to breathe. Breathing was for wimps. Right now, Koa and Ronin were in trouble -- maybe dead -- and half the pack was left relatively exposed at camp. The sooner the skirmish was over, the sooner everyone would be able to return home. Safely.

In the distance, she could see two wolves. Three? Larkspur inhaled sharply through the nose and nodded to herself as she caught Hades's scent. Well, three was better than two. She spurred herself into a faster pace and ignored the lower hanging twigs that smacked at her legs, chest, and face.

Caution was thrown to the wind. They were under attack. There was no time to dilly dally.

Chocktaw || Male || 5 || Sentry || M: Kyomi (ind), Cadmus, Hades, Larkspur, Others (ind)

"I... Well, yes, I fancy Kyomi. It's not so simple, though, being a sentry. I'm forbidden a mate. The pack comes before the individual and I swore to defend that oath," he told Hades slowly, his low voice coming out more calm than he felt. He wasn't angry, no, just taken by surprise. Chocktaw hated being taken by surprise.

His eyes shifted to Cadmus, then back to the newcomer. "I don't want to throw my duties aside just for one wolf who might not even share feelings. I barely see her, after all."

Chocktaw gave a half shrug and tilted his head to listen to the second question. "Nothing besides two magpies fighting over a scrap of bone out yonder. The wind is blowing into us, but I haven't even scented another wolf -- or any potential threat -- in-"

He broke off and quickly turned around, hackles raising. Distant crashing through the bracken on the pack's side of the border reached his ears and he warned, "Cadmus."

The dark wolf narrowed his eyes and, while still in the shadows, stood and poked his head out from behind the tree only to find the distant form of -"Larkspur? She's never this loud; she's a hunter."

Annoyance at his sister turned to concern, then to an emotion he couldn't quite comprehend. Fear? No, he wasn't scared, but his heart was pounding and his adrenaline had spiked.

Dread.

Perhaps a minute later, his sister skidded to a halt beside them, eyes a frenzy and burning with bloodlust. Dear ancestors, Choctaw thought. We're gonna die.

"Koa and Ronin are tied up at the border. Leviathan says to be wary. Keep watch; you may be needed to cover both. I'm going back to camp now," his sister panted before turning tail and running off once again.

Now thoroughly unsettled, and with all thoughts of puppy love abandoned, Choctaw stared off into the opening beyond the border and set his jaw. "Do you think they'll end up needing us over there?"

Takara
Female | 4 Years | Pack Member | Mentions: Orion, Nikki, Cyre

The dame watched the wolves around her move for another moment, saw the three wolves put on guard follow out her request of a perimeter check, and allowed her nerves to settle somewhat when they returned with no news of more intruders or odd scents. They were going to be okay. The camp was safe, and hidden, and had not been found by their enemy pack. They didn't need to relocate, or put up better defences around the camp. They would be fine.

Takara glanced at the she-wolf, Nikki, that approached, face grave, but soft. Her nod was small, casting a glance back at her den, the den that Cyre was not guarding, the den that held the strange, new pup inside of it. The pup, cream in colour, would be fine. There was no large wound that she had seen, nothing beyond scratches, scrapes, and cracked pawpads.

"He'll be fine," she said, turning back to the younger dame. "His collapse was from exhaustion, I believe, as he has no large wounds to say it was from bloodloss." She paused, features bringing themselves into a frown. Cyre and Kyomi would be guarding the pup, as the commands of Leviathan asked, so, when she refocused on Nikki, she gently said: "Nikki, could you perhaps be on lookout with the others? I'd like you to specifically be on watch around my den, which is where the pup is."

It looked as if the pup were running from something, possibly fleeing a group of wolves. That's likely the group that Koa and Ronin were fighting, or, rather, the group that Koa had been fighting whilst Ronin had been on her way with the pup, because he had said that Ronin had sent him. Had she turned back to fight with Koa? How badly was the male injured for him to have howled, drawing both Ronin back and assistance from the pack?

The idea sent a chill up her spine. Sentries were trained to handle groups of wolves alone. Had luck been against him, resulting in a blow that let them hurt him more? Who was chasing the pup so desperately that they were prepared to fight for him? Where were the pups parents? Were they still alive?

She turned back to her den, briskly trotting over to it, just in time to see Cyre crawl into the space. Her den wasn't overly spacious, big enough for perhaps two adult wolves on the larger side, so she stayed outside, sitting by the entrance. She made a small noise to draw the elder out of the space.

Whenever the pup felt up to it, they would have to ask questions. Who are you? Who followed you? How did you find our sentries? Where are your parents?

She dreaded the answers.

Ronin
Female | 7 Years | Eastern Sentry | Mentions: Koa, NPC Wolves, Eira, Leviathan, Enigma

The dark canine held onto her prey like an alligator, jaws closed around the side of it's face while forcibly shaking herself, trying to do as much damage as possible. The wolf was whining in pain, snapping in every which direction to try and get a hold of her, but she kept out of reach. A growl roared in her throat, muffled by the mass within her clutches, and continued to bite down harder. She'd crush his skull if she could, and without hesitation.

The sound of a snarl and thudding paws drew her eyes to the side, catching sight of another wolf charging at her at the last moment. She didn't even have time to brace herself when the large wolf's slammed into her midsection, his momentum and size propelling her up and away from him and her victim.

The force of the hit caused her to gasp in pain, free the wolf from her grasp and effectively sending her flying backwards. Hitting the ground like a wrecking ball, Ronin yelped and slid back about a foot before rolling to her belly, a dazed look in her eyes.

"Ronin!"

The sound of a familiar voice drew her from her stupor, her eyes landing on the form fo her fallen friend as he held on for dear life. A guttural snarl ripped through the female and she surged to her feet once more, eyes widening so that the whites shown in an almost crazed manner.

Before she could react much more though, her attention swung to the new wolves advancing on them, and she carefully slipped around so there was more space between her and them. She just needed to get Koa out of there, she didn't care what it would cost.

However, a blurr of pale white fure slammed into a near by wolf, feminine voice loud with anger. Ronin instinctively bared her teeth, though reigned in her expression when she recognized the female as Eira, one of her pack's wolves. Her eyes shifted to the sound of thudding paws as Leviathan and the othe wolves broke through the treeline.

They had arrived.

Relief flooded through Ronin and she turned to face their adversaries with venomous rage, only to have her eyes brought back to one of their own wolves. She couldn't remember the female's name, which likely meant she was obsolete, but it took everything she had not to snap her neck right then and there.

"Better she die with honor than a pathetic coward like you," her low voice was raspy, teeth bared as blood dripped from her muzzle. "You kill them, or I'll kill you," she threatned, not caring if it was the right thing or not. Did this female really think they were going to just let these vermin get away with attacking Koa? Oh no, she wouldn't allow it.

Throwing her attention back forward, the female sought out her target, a wicked look over taking her features as her orbs landed on the male with the damaged face. It was time she finished what she started.
