Reprobate - Darkness. All you see is darkness, until you open your eyes. You don't ever remember falling asleep, but clearly you had and against a tree at that. You can't remember how you got here either, but the densely wooded forest seems familiar to you. You glance around the area, it's shrouded in a thick fog...except for the small area you find yourself. You can only see about ten feet in front of you and through the fog, you can tell there's a faint light. You're confused as you push yourself up from the rough bark, realizing your legs had fallen asleep and your joints are very stiff, as if you had been laying there for a long time. Bracing yourself on the trunk of the tree, you take a tentative step forward, testing out your limbs to make sure you weren't going to fall over before heading towards the light in search of a civilization. You put one foot in front of the other and the fog before you begins to disapate while behind you, it just thickens. You chalk it up to just a cloudy day, but the closer you get to the light, the thicker the fog becomes. "What's going on-?" You wonder aloud before finally reaching your destination. A post with a lit lantern, glowing with a blue hue, hanging from it. You had never seen such a light blue fire before. You remove the lamp from the post and look around. Leaning against the iron rod, sat a small black box that appeared to be made of wood. You kneel down and open the box to find a tiny wooden figurine that appears to have been hand carved in the shape of some type of animal. Beside it is a small vial, it looks similar to a prism of sorts, coming down into a sharp point, but inside the glass you can see there's a glittering blue powder, it clings to the sides in a fine dusting. How odd. Pocketing the items, you pick the lantern back up and stand. You look around and are immediately more confused than you were a couple seconds ago. The post was gone and so was the box. You swear you just blinked. The fog also had lifted a bit, allowing you to see a clear pathway, to what? You have no clue. But around you, you also notice that a clearing stands off to your left, behind you the trees had seemed to have moved to block you off from going back to where you woke up, and to your right, you could swear that you hear a babbling brook. - Do you... A) Head forward and see where the fog wants you to go B) Head towards the clearing C) Go towards what sounds like water D) Try to find a way back to where you woke up E) Your choice - Items Remaining ~Moonlit Blue Lantern~ ~Carved Figure~ ~Glittering Vial~ |
