Salem - You tentatively stretch out your hand for the lupine to sniff. Their eyes sparkle with mischief as they swipe their tongue across your hand once more. You fight hard not to throw up, as the slimy substance slowly trickles down your hand again. You shake off the excess drool, and slowly stretch your hand over to the lupine. When you begin petting the lupine, you start slowly as not to scare it, but the lupine shuffles toward you, letting out a satisfied groan as you comb through his shaggy fur. His eyes are half closed in pleasure as you tease out a few knots that have been in his fur. Suddenly he drops down onto his knees, and lies down, rolling onto his back, to get a belly rub. You happily oblige, running your hand over his belly. His belly is even more matted than his back, and you think to yourself that you're going to give him a nice long bath as soon as you find some water. As you pet his head, he ends up swiping your face with his tongue this time. You groan as the drool slides down your face, and down the back of your neck. Meanwhile, the lupine gives you a innocent look, and continues begging for scratches. - Congratulations! You have caught a male lupine. I hope you enjoyed your adopt experience. Golden Meadows - You are intrigued by the lake symbol on the wooden post. As you watch, the lake seems to ripple for a single moment, then it fades back into the wooden post. "What was that?" You wonder. Turning to your left, you have only taken a few steps, when you see a well worn trail. The trail is covered with dried crackly brown leaves that crackle when you take every step. You wander along the path feeling calmer. Perhaps it is the weird blue glow from the lantern that seems to be captivating you, drawing you closer. Wait. Something seems off about this lantern. You yank your gaze away from it. How long have you been staring at the lantern and walking? You look around and realize that you seem to be at the lake already. The water is almost lapping at your toes. You look around, observing this area. You have a odd feeling that you need to find something, but you aren't sure what. You find yourself staring at the lantern again. After a minute, you pull your gaze free, and shake your head. What in the world is wrong with this lantern? Freaky lantern aside, you notice something even freakier. There seems to be a few tufts of fur stuck on the branches beside you, and there are freshly made pawprints next to you. You whip your head around quickly, and notice something that seems to slink away. What exactly happened while you were staring at the lantern? And what is wrong with this lantern? - Do you..... Golden Meadows You take another quick glance around you, then decide to follow the pawprints. After all, how bad could this turn out? You take a closer look at the pawprint closer to you, and wince. It seemed to have razor sharp claws, that dug up the soil, leaving claw marks imbedded into the dirt. As you wander around, following the trail, the pawprints seem to grow fainter and fainter. Winding around one last tree, you are surprised by a multitude of pawprints in one suspiciously brightly lit meadow. The rays of the sun illuminate the gloomy forest, briefly bringing light to the darkness. In the sudden light, you see a few trails of pawprints leading into different directions. In one direction, following the light, there seems to be two trails of pawprints heading in that direction. In the other direction, the pawprints seem to continue deeper and deeper into the dark forest. - Which trail do you follow? Golden Meadows ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You follow the footprints, and notice that they are drawing closer and closer to a bright light. The warm rays of the sun illuminate the atmosphere, giving the forest a almost cheerful look. You tilt your head up and smile, as the warmth cascades over your face. As you tiptoe into a small clearing, you see a small lupine all by itself in the clearing. It seems to be looking for something. You hear it walk around the clearing, leaves crunching under its little paws. Suddenly it looks your way suspiciously. Did it smell you? You scramble up a tree in a blind panic. Looking down once more, you see the small lupine lie down amongst the grass. You breath a sigh of relief. Do you..... A) Climb off the tree and run away B) Throw the glittering vial at the lupine
