Song: yours by Thomas Sanders
Characters: Akira and Garvin.
Context: Uhhhh, I don't know. Probably both AFCS and PV Akira and Garvin prior to actually dating :)
---
Garvin, watching Akira talk during one of their late-night talks, taking a sip of their drink and trying to repress the feelings that have been building up: "Do you see me? We see each other daily, but do you see me the way I hope you do?"
Garvin, reflecting on how he and Akira act with each other, still nodding along with Akira, fully in denial: "'Cause I hold every door til you pass through; You smile, and ask me 'How are you?'"
Garvin, with multiple meanings, honestly, I mean, he certainly isn't doing well mentally, but also with the particular relationship: "I say I’m fine, but damn, that ain’t the truth..."
Garvin, taking another drink and smiling to play off the admiration of Akira as they rant to him playfully: "Can’t help but stare at you through every task, and all I wanna do is ask Is there a chance that you’ve been staring, too?"
Garvin, totally not stuggling. Yep, for sure mentally stable, lol: "All this time, I’m still guessing I would die just to know..."
Garvin, slightly frustrated after Akira turns him down in his drunken state, confused and convinced that must mean Akira actually dislikes him, which is confusing because he thought he saw signs previously: "Just show me a sign! Send me a smoke signal, drop me a line, spell it out for me! I’m a little bit torn..."
Garvin, still frustrated but mostly just sad at the moment: "Do ya wanna be mine? Cause I wanna be yours..."
*POV switch :D*
Akira, during that same late-night chat, totally subtly flirting and complementing Garvin, hoping he picks up on it: "Do you hear me? We’re talking every day, but do you hear me, the words I’m tryin to say?"
Akira, starting to question their feelings toward Garvin, but not knowing how to act on them at all, slowly realizing that they've picked up on every little detail Garvin's talked about or done: "Despite my life in chaos and disorder I memorized your coffee order, but I’m too scared to make a bolder move. Instead of spilling guts like I wanna do the best that I can manage is a 'How are you?' Until there’s something there that I can prove. I just suck at expressing..."
Akira, trying to ignore their feelings but also kinda just hoping Garvin makes the first move (when sober, of course) to show that they aren't alone in what they're feeling: "What it is I want to know? Just show me a sign! Send me a smoke signal, drop me a line, spell it out for me! I’m a little bit torn..."
Akira, sighing and giving in to the fact that they do like Garvin despite still not knowing how to approach it: "Would ya wanna be mine? Cause I wanna be yours."
*Another switch, Garvin and Akira thinking/speaking at the same time.*
Garvin, trying to rationalize his thinking and quickly turing away the possibility of anyone, especially Akira, actually caring about him in anything more than a sexual way (which Akira obviously doesn't see him that way either, soooo): "And if you don’t..."
Akira, sad but trying not to show it, convinced Garvin couldn't possibly love them as anything other than a friend: "And if you don’t..."
Garvin, harsh on himself over pushing away the feelings: "Hell, I don’t mind!"
Akira, still just mostly sad, refusing to put Garvin in a position where he may feel pressured: "Oh, I don’t mind..."
Garvin and Akira, both at least acknowledging their friendship, both believing themselves undeserving of even that much: "I’m happy just havin’ the friendship I was so lucky to find!"
Akira, admitting to themself that they are just really scared to lose Garvin in any capacity: "That’s why I’m scared.."
Garvin, frustrated with himself for not just getting over this whole thing: I’m not prepared,"
Akira, acknowledging that a large reason why they never pry into Garvin is for the same fear they have over losing him: "To say I care..."
Garvin, mostly just angry at himself at this point, honestly: "I couldn’t bear..."
Garvin and Akira, both with similar fears, dumbasses :): "To have you tell me you don’t feel the same and leave me standing there!"
Garvin, sighing and yet again shoving everything aside (or trying to), while still watching Akira for a miracle of a sign: "So it’s fine I’ll just live in my mind 'til ya give me a sign."
Akira, honestly kind of desperate but unwilling to push: "Send me a smoke signal, drop me a line!"
Garvin: "Anything, just give me somethin’, I’m a little bit..."
Akira: "Spell it out for me, I’m a little bit..."
Garvin and Akira, both stuggling: "Torn..."
Akira, getting more frustrated in themself as time goes by: "Would ya wanna be mine?"
Garvin, also growing more angry at himself for not letting go: "'Cause I..."
Akira, practically begging at this point: "Just show me a sign!"
Garvin, kinda questioning if Akira could even really like him as a friend: "Do you like me?"
Akira: "Send me a smoke signal!"
Garvin, digging himself deeper in self-doubt: "I know we’ve got rapport, but..."
Akira, bro is losing their mind at this point: "Drop me a line,"
Garvin, seriously, child, get some help, lol: "Do you like me?"
Akira, recognizing Garvin pulling away a little: "Spell it out for me, I’m a little bit..."
Garvin, ready to pull away emotionally to avoid this shit: "Or should I shut that door, I’m-"
Garvin and Akira: "Torn..."
Akira, after the whole thing with Nico, looking at Garvin, playful but also kinda serious: "Do ya wanna be mine?"
Garvin, smiling back, equally playful but with underlying seriousness: "I wanna be yours..."
