Jurassic Life

Scientists have done it again. They've crossed the boundaries of what should and should not be done, be created. Of course their human curiosity and lack of limits is something that allows them to stride forward with discoveries, but something things should be left alone. And now, thanks to the innate curiosity, they've changed things. Dinosaurs now exist.

However, they seemed to have learned that mistakes need not be continued, and have decided not to mettle anymore. Instead, they, working together with the government, have secured a wildlife preserve to house the dinosaurs, away from the public. Keeping humans and dinosaurs alike safe from each other.

On this preserve, the dinosaurs can live in peace, safely monitored by the government and scientists to make sure they are healthy and uninterrupted by any unwanted visitors. Here they can live out their life, grow, have families, and exist without worry of what the outside world might be. They need only to worry about the threats within the preserve, the ones any animal would have to worry about.

For Now.

The Roleplay Rules
1. Activity is a Must. In Both RP and In Discussion. If you aren't active for 3 days in a row, with no notice, you'll be removed and your spot open.
2. There are limited spots for each species of dinosaur. I will not add more. I may add new species if requested, but some will not be added. Period.
3. Descriptions for the Dinosaurs must be met/kept. So if a Dinosaur is primarily a fish eater, with weaker jaws and primarily uses claws to fight/defend itself, then you can't have a dinosaur of that species with out of characteristic strengths.
4. Be Realistic with things. A lone allosaurus or utah raptor is not going to be able to take down an adult rex on it's own.
5. Limit of 3 characters per person for now. This is subject to change.
6. Semi-Literacy Minimum Requirement. I don't want to see any one liners. I expected this requirement to show in Rp posts and character forms.
7. There will not be any form of mix packing for carnviores, but mix-herding is allowed for herbivores. Ex: a Trex will not travel or take in any other species other than it's own.
8. If you've read everything to this point, put your favorite dinosaur in your form somewhere. I'd prefer it to be hidden.
9. I would like an even number of herbivores and carnivores. So if you have multiple characters, try to at least have one of each.
10. No Orphaned Babies. They need a mother or a father.
11. Have Fun!

If I think of more, I'll will add them and update them in the Sign Ups or Discussion Page.

The Dinosaurs
Part 1: Carnivores

Tyrannosaurus Rex
A colossal titan that stands from 15 feet to 20 feet tall, and anywhere from 35 to 40 feet long. Gender dimorphism means that the females of this species are the large specimens, full grown adult males always on the smaller side, where as females who are full grown are on the larger side. They have a massive head with the strongest bite force on the preserve, they have wide heads with blunt, strong jaws meant for grabbing, holding, and crushing. They typically travel as a mated pair and their offspring, though their children usually venture off on their own as adults.
Slots:
1. Sura | F | Imperial Sands
>1 Juvenile or Hatchling Open
2. Azen | M | Tenebris Umbra

3. Open
4. Open

Giganotosaurus
Another Apex Predator, this creature is as threatening almost as much as the Rex is. They stand at 17 to 19 feet tall and up to 45 feet long, both males and females are about equal in size, though, again, females tend to be bigger. They are more meant for speed and stamina than Rexes are, but don't have the same strength to their bite as the other Apex does. They still have large heads, but their jaws are narrower, meant more for ripping and causing bleed than to crush. Similar to Rexes, they travel in mated pairs with their offspring, which leave onces they reach adulthood.
Slots:
1. F Adult | Reserved for Polly
2. Open
3. Open
4. Open

Allosaurus
A large carnivore, Allos tend to stand at 14-16 feet tall, and 30-35 feet long. Between genders, they tend to vary in size, no one gender larger than the other. They are formidable when in packs, though have typically go after smaller prey when alone. They are the third largest carnivore on the preserve, but are meant more for long distance running, having decent speed and good stamina. In a Pack, there are few things Allos cannot take down. There can be anywhere from 2-5 adult allows in a pack, plus their offspring. Fresh adults can choose to remain in the pack, or leave in search of a new one. A pack is lead by a mated pair.
Slots:
1. Rottie | F | Vaporeon
2. Open
3. Open
4. Open
5. Open

Ceratosaurus
Similar to the Allosaurus, the Cerato is a medium sized carnivore, capable of holding its own when in a pack. They stand similar in size to the allos, though slightly smaller, from 10-13 feet tall and 25-28 feet long. One on One, they would struggle against an allosaurus or prey their size or slightly larger, however, in a pack they can be just as formidable as allos. They have bulkier legs than their taller counterparts, more so meant for bursts of speed. They can fun distances, but not as long as allos, but faster. In general, they may not be the stronger ones, but they, in general, are faster. They typically can out manuever larger game too. They typically travel in packs of 2-5 adults, and their offspring. Like allos, fresh adults either stay or leave for their own pack. They are lead by a mated pair.
Slots:
1. Open
2. Open
3. Open
4. Open
5. Open

Dilophosaurus
A smaller carnivore, but still ferocious in their own right. The Dilos are an exceptional night time hunter, standing at about 6 feet tall, and 18-23 feet long. They have the best night vision of all the dinosaurs, capable of seeing almost as well as night as they can during the day. They tend to try and bleed out their prey, a slash and dask tactic, and play mind games with their haunting calls. They are no match for prey their size or larger when on their own, but as a pack there are few things they can't take down. Their packs range from 2-7 adults, and offspring, which typically join or leave when adult. They are lead by a singular leader.

2. Open
3. Open

Utah Raptors
One of the most well known carnivores on the preserve, though often mistaken for other types. The Utah is the largest raptor species known to man, standing at 5 feet tall at the hip (they appear taller than Dilos because they stand more upright) and 15-20 feet long. They are they fastest carnivore when sprinting, and one of the only that can jump. Their manueverability is unparralled, and even alone can be troublesome for anything. They typically travel in packs from 2-7, and at full strength can take down almost anything. They prefer the slash and dash method too. They are lead by a matriarchal female.

Males are more bold and aggressive towards threats than females, but both will defend and distract if needed.
1-7, possibly 8 in herds. plus offsprings.

Herds like to have them around because of their ability to scout and keep an eye out.
Will always run from a fight, and hard to catch.

________________________________

Name:
Sura

Age:
Adult

Gender:
Female

Species:
Tyrannosaurus Rex

Appearance:
Sura is a colossal giant true to her species nature. She is a sigh to behold, being a fully grown female of nearly maximum size. She stands at just under 20 feet, and is about 38 feet long from nose to tail tip. She is a heavy female, thickly built in a way that is signature to a Rex. Right now she isn't quite back to where she used to be, as she has previously laid, and hatched eggs. Soon, though, she will be up to her full, intimidating, mass. She has a broad head with wide, powerful jaws with a sensitive sense of smell. However, unlike some males, her head is more smooth, no prominent cresting upon her body that identifies her clearly as a female.

Her hide is thick, and not easily scratched by natural things like branches of trees, or rocks. Like many of her species her feet are thickly skinned, almost padded on the bottoms with thicker more noticeable scales or plates on the tops. Some of the same thick plating can be seen along her back, following along her spine, becoming less obvious as it reaches her tail and goes down. The almost padding on her feet allows the giant beast to move around quieter than some would think, but, inevitably, most can hear her once she is close enough, unless the ground is padded with loose dirt, then it is harder. This does mean that she prefers to be more of an ambush hunter. If she is with her mate or had subadult offspring with her, she likes someone to drive the prey towards the rex who would be lying in wait.

Primarily a black and red t-rex, who's fully grown. Her base color is a dull red, with some highlights of a lighter orange-tan color on her muzzle, underbelly and tail. The black is primarily on the top half of her body, covering the top of her head, fading a bit around the eyes, down her neck and across her back where it covers and creates a type of striping pattern. The stripes or streaks are much more prominent as they go down her tail. The black also travels down her legs, coating most of them in black, though the sides show red as well. Her feet and claws are almost entirely black, though you can see the faded red on the bottoms of them. For eyes she has a pair of bright, orange eyes that stand out from her head.
