"I'm glad you understand," I said then processing what I said and her comment, "Yes, of course we have, they aren't going to give me and her eggs. She also has to take it easy as the developing eggs drain her nutrients and energy. Speaking of energy, if she has the energy for walking back and forth again, I will see if she can." I said with a light chuckle turning around and trotting off to return to her.

I nodded before watching Zier walk off. I was half tempted to follow to see where their nest was but i knew that Nightmare would tell me if she wanted. Besides Zier wouldve noticed me in a heartbeat since he is the latest raptor. I shook my head of the thoughts before pushing my head into Azul. He woke up and curled around me. If we were the same color someone wouldve thought we were the same raptor. I chuckled at this thought before closing my eyes to fall asleep. Soon i was asleep and dreaming of my new young to come.

After he told me everything I wasn't mad, I was glad he came up with something on spot. It was just another reason to separate ourselves that actually sounded more reasonable. We also happened to build our nest but to a larger size so not only would he wrap around me but also the eggs. I was excited, I would talk to Forest when we woke. For now, I was extremely tired. I was partially laying on my side, so he did what we did early and let me use him as a support. I lay my head down and he put his head next to mine. This was one of the few times we would get to sleep sprawled out before I laid eggs and they grew up enough to sleep away from us.

I woke up to a drone sound and a growl. I jolted awake to find Azul doing what he promised to do. "Zier's gotten into Azul's head," Azul's alpha said into an earpeice. "Or that female's of his. I knew it was a bad idea to pair a raptor with that wild one," someone said on the other side of the earpeice. Azul jumped forward, pretending to get ready to attack. He and i both knew he wouldnt but his alpha didnt know that. She jumped back before looking down, submitting. "Alright, boy, if this is what you want," she said as she walked away, the drone following her. I jumped up and nuzzled him and he nuzzled me back. I could tell he was a bit sad so i decided to do what i had been thinking about ever since he said he would challenge his alpha. I was a bit nervous but i let out a humming sound. He was surprized at first but smiled at me before repeating it back.

----------------Time Skip----------------

We then layed down, currled together in our nest. Both me and him were worn out so we decided to take a nap. I nuzzled my head into Azul and in returned her curled around me tighter. Before long our breath matched and we were asleep. I was a bit worried Nightmare would come and find us asleep but i was so tired. I just hoped she would wake me instead of going back and coming here for no reason.

I woke up to the sound of Zier telling me to stay quiet as we heard a drone go by the hidden den.

"Where are they, I've looked everywhere and they aren't showing up on the cameras!?" a woman's voice said panicking. I immediately recognized her as Azul's alpha, "We have to lock down the facility until we figure it out,"

"No we do not, we will just check their trackers that are on their headsets," A voice over the drone said "Get out of there now," The voice quickly said

"Why?" she said panicked

"Just do it now!" The drone said speeding higher into the air a little too late. Zier ran out of the den and jumped up biting the drone and breaking it. He than began to chase the scientist with the intent to kill, his instincts were kicking in. I didn't judge, if I wasn't so tired I would too. Then I heard a scream of horror, he actually did it. I waited for his return.

------------------------ Third Person -----------------------

In the headquarters the owner took his headphones off as the screams of the woman could be heard through the headset.

"What just happened," He said furious but terrified

"You were the one that requested those two be put together, sir. She was one of the raptors taught to kill any human but her alpha, who she still respects enough not to kill and Zier will do as she wishes."

"Why is he so aggressive though," He asked furiously "He was never this aggressive in the past, I met him myself and overviewed him a few times, and he was fine!"

"Sir," the head scientist said "We have reason to believe the two have been mating, his behavior has become more aggressive and protective. He even nearly got into a fight with the other male in the enclosure. Nightmare is also a smart female, she seems to have relocated her nest to a place where we can't see on cameras. The incident that just happened as well, shows we won't be able to observe and take the hatchlings until it is too late to remove them. Meaning, Nightmare knows what we do and so does Zier." The owner grabbed his hair clearly stressed, no one in the room dared say anything.

"We could send Jack in to observe but not do anything else." a new voice suggested everyone turned to them, causing them to jump. "They clearly still trust him, why don't we send him in a few times and let him slowly get closer to the place where the drone was destroyed? We can all probably agree since Zier was so aggressive we got a way to close to his mate and their den."

"That might actually work," The owner said "I hate to say this but call Jack back in, and invite his family too, if something happens to him I want them to understand the situation. I know he just went on release until we get him more eggs but bring him back,"

I had fell asleep with Forest but jolted awake as i heard a fait scream. I listened carefully before i jumped up, not caring that i woke Forest. I rushed out of the cave as my heart threatened to explode. I knew that scream anywhere. When i got to where the scream was all i saw was my old alphas dead body. I smelled Ziers sent and knew what happened. I sat there stunned with tears in my eyes. "I- i cant believe this..." i said as tears fell down my face. I just couldn't even believe it. I knew Zier was Zier but this?! I fell onto my old alphas body, crying, wishing this wasnt so.

When Zier came back he had blood on him, I didn’t let him nuzzle me right away and he looked offended at first. Then once I started to lick the blood of him he relaxed and just let me clean up around his mouth. We were once again hidden in our den, I made a purring noise as I cleaned his face. He sat patiently and seemed content, I shifted because the growing eggs in my stomach made it hard to get comfortable. My stomach was starting to feel a lot heavier when I try to stand. He looked at me concerned for a second and I stopped to use my nose to carefully readjust my stomach.

“Uncomfortable?” He asked

“And heavy,” I added “I can’t wait to be able to lay them, I would rather sit and be comfortable than sit and have to readjust every single time,” I said with a laugh, he smiled but still kept a concerned expression. He nuzzled me and I let him this time. “Why don’t you get cleaned up, I will be fine. I will holler if I need you.” He hesitantly got up,

“You are already able to predict when I’m going to protest, I’m scared,” He said jokingly while leaving and I laughed.

I was very worried and scared as Azul just ran out but i decided to stay. I waited nervously in the nest, hoping everything was okay. When Azul finally came back after half an hour he was covered in blood but not his own. "What happened?!" I said getting up to greet him. But he just passed me and went to the opposite corner of the cave that our nest was at. He then layed down and curled up. When i tryed to come to him he let out a low angry growl. I worriedly sat down in the nest, as i had wasted all my energy trying to find out what was wrong. Meanwhile Azul just stayed there, not saying a word.

I trotted to the river, I seen someone other than me had seen the body/. I sighed, by the end of this we are going to be separated from them because we are too dangerous even though Forest is the one that’s wild. I walked up to the water and the blood started to wash off my feet and claws.

“The humans are going to regret letting two of the smartest raptors they have be mates,” I said to myself, “But they need to watch themselves. We don’t want anymore of them getting close to my den and mate now do we,” That’s when I heard the buzzing sound again, I stayed put since I didn’t want to be followed back. I stared at it, it was barely out of my jumping reach.

Third Person

“Why isn’t he attacking or acting aggressively?” the owner of the company asked

“His mate isn’t near and he isn’t near his den, we got too close to his den he was being protective,” The head scientist said “As my assistant said yesterday, he is defensive of his mate and their current nesting site. Almost possessive over her, but we also have reason to believe the males make vows to their mates, similar to how we do wedding vows. It has been shown that they take these very seriously, it is possible this was one of his vows. The exception was and still is Jack since he is Nightmare’s parental figure. Even though she knows who her father is because of an accidental pair-up during missions.”

After a while i reliased i would have to find out what happened myself. I decided to go out for a walk, hoping that would give me something. I knew i couldnt go far since i was still tired. I walked around for a bit and smelled Azul's faint sent so i followed it. I saw Zier before anything eles and also some blood on him. I was worried that the males got into a fight somehow. I rushed over to him. "Are you alright? Did you get into a fight with Azul by chance? Im not mad but im worried about him. He growled at me Zier! Im just trying to find out what happened." My voice was filled with worry as i spoke to Zier.
