Ase sent up a mental prayer when he released her arm, letting the appendage drop to her side. She used that hand to grip the wrist of the hand that had moved to her stomach. She gripped his wrist about as tightly as she could and reached up with her other hand to grasp his other wrist. She wanted so badly to wipe that smirk off of his face. By any means. She stared at him with a look of contempt as he spoke. Her top lip twitched into a snarl. Her heartbeat quickened, but her breath was slow, almost easy going. Her eyes had absolved of the lothing look and were now a picture of unreadable flatness. When she spoke, she did so lowly, almost a bit raspily. "Give me a reason to be."

Kalen glanced down as her hands grabbed onto his wrists, before looking back at her. He studied her eyes, trying to figure out what was going on inside her head, but gave up after a moment or two. He heard her words, and smiled coldly. Quickly moving his wrist, he pulled it out of her grasp, moving his hand away from her stomach and grabbing on to her wrist instead, holding it tightly against the rough bark of the tree. Cocking his head slightly, he leaned close to her, watching her. Looking down at her, he let his eyes drifting very noticeably down to her lips before her eyes once more, a smirk playing on his lips. "Why would I do that? Your heart is already racing" Edited at July 28, 2021 08:58 PM by purge

Ase gritted her teeth, internally cringing at the sound of her jaw popping as she did so. She examined him, his facial expression, and his eyes; trying to get any information from him. She winced slightly as her wrist was pushed into the bark, feeling the pattern already start to imprint into her skin. She lifted her leg slightly, readying to kick at his shin, but paused when she saw his eyes drift down to her lips. Now, it was her turn to smirk. She leaned closer to him, hyper-aware of his hold still on her neck. "It's not polite to stare. Like what you see?"

Kalen felt her leg moving, not daring to move his eyes away from hers for a second. He assumed it was to probably kick him or try to attack him in some way but that probably wasn't going to work as well as she hoped, maybe. He watched her carefully, feeling her breath. He clenched his jaw once more, glancing away in slight frustration before looking back at her with a forced smirk. "In your dreams" he whispered to her, his face dangerously close to hers. Without falter in his eyes, he shifted his leg slightly, putting his knee behind her leg. If only to stop her from kicking him in the shin, that would definitely piss him off. Ase bit her tongue harshly and leaned back again, her eyes set in a frustrated glare. She felt her leg shift and his knee take place behind it. Damnit, now she shouldn't kick him. Even after leaning back, her face was still extremely close to his. She..didn't know how to feel about it. "Not in mine...but maybe in yours." A small smirk made way to the woman's face. The half-fae leaned further flush against the tree in an attempt to put some distance between them. She didn't like the effect she had on him..or he on her. .....Maybe she did. This was all just....so damn new to her. And she hated it.

Kalen watched amusedly as she spoke once more, that familar smirk back on her face. He let his own smirk porcure on his face. His eyebrows raised smoothly at her words. "Oh, you think so?" Kalen asked her curiously. He noticed her pushing herself back against the tree, a small look in her eyes telling him exactly why. Pouting, he mocked her baby voice from earlier. "Awh, poor darling. Does this make you uncomfortable?" he asked her, grinning. He let his head tilting slightly, biting back laughter as he let his lips brush against her cheek softly. Kalen chuckled but pulled back slightly, giving her the distance between them she so clearly craved. "Shame"

Ase turned her face away from him, still biting her tongue. She felt the familiar coppery taste of blood sprung up. She balled up her fists, wishing for just one good swing at his face. Just to wipe that look off of his face. "You...are insufferable." She let out a sigh and tried to wrench her wrist from his grasp. "Nothing but an inutile-" She sighed and gave up on words. The coddiwomples in her stomach were traveling up to her lungs. Her lungs seemed to shrink. Ase huffed, and again, tried to pull her wrist from his grasp. "Just...ugh!" She growled in frustration, finally starting to put up a bit of a fight.

Kalen watched her looking away, as he smiled smugly. He knew he had gotten to her, gotten under her skin. He kept the smug look on his face as she spoke. He felt his smile just increase after hearing her words. He knew she was just trying to deflect how she really felt. As she continued to struggle slightly, he watched her, tightening his grip on her wrist to stop her from pulling her arm away. Kalen felt his smile fading, to prove his point; he tightened his hold on her throat, his knuckles slightly white as he put pressure onto the side of her neck. He leaned in once more, "If you want me to stop, just say so, kitten" Edited at July 28, 2021 11:15 PM by purge

Ase gasped slightly, really only trying to get the feeling of sufficient air filling her lungs. It wasn't so much the hand at her throat, that was really only restricting her blood flow, but it was really the tightness in her chest from both embarrassment and anger. Her blood started to pound lightly in her head. This feeling was slightly familiar. Like the time she and her siblings ate some wild fungus and had a..trip as one would say. The same ecstatic feeling that had stemmed from that high seemed to also stem from a lack of blood flow to the brain. And she didn't really mind. The woman side-eyed him as he spoke, scanning his face, but she kept her mouth shut for the time being. She swallowed the blood that had sprung up in her mouth. She wanted, needed, to say something. But when she opened her mouth to speak, no words came out. She simply closed and pursed her now red-stained lips tightly.

Kalen watched as she stayed quiet. Chuckling slightly, he eventually eased his grip on her, "What, cat got your tongue?" he teased before letting go completely. Standing still in front of her for a few moments, he watched her. Kalen laughed quietly to himself, keeping his eyes on her. Shaking his head, he moved back away from her, walking away as if nothing had happened. Kalen stretched his arms above his head, wincing as he heard his back cracking painfully. Rubbing the back of his neck, he turned back to face her. "You really gotta grow sometime, it's beginning to hurt my neck to keep looking down at you"
