Raven | 7 | M | Beta Male | M: The pack(ind and dir), Shika, Mithra
Raven nodded at Mithra before ducking his head to avoid Shika's new antlers as she checked him. She was cold. That was not good. Or maybe it was, in her newfound pelt. At her words after checking Mithra, he nodded, "That is a good idea. We need to make sure everyone at camp is okay and then try to round up our packmates without startling them." Raven could see that the lead was calm although the tell-tale flick of her tail let him know that it was affecting her.
His eyes focused onto a part of the forest where the shadows seemed thickest. Was something moving in there? It was almost like it was calling him. . .a nudge from Shika brought him back and his head jerked slightly. Right. Pack. Safety. He followed Shika, matching her brisk pace easily. A sharp howl sounded before being cut off, making him go into a sprint, long legs devouring the ground as his speed allowed him to make it to camp quickly.
He paused, taking in the packmates in the campsite. Kaido was in a den, not much different about him. Except. . .he had some boar tusks growing from his face. Raven scanned the camp, noting that Feather seemed to be in a den and Flame had taken cover under a tree. There was almost a shimmer to her. Raven looked over at the medic den where he could see Aspen. The male seemed a much darker color than before. Other than that, he couldn't tell.
Raven hopped up onto the rock before letting out a soft call, a call to gather. It was loud enough to reach the outer edges of camp, but only a whisper beyond that. His tail swayed slightly as his slitted eyes scanned the clearing.
Night | M | 4 | Sentinel | M: Brute, Feather, Aspen, Pack(ind)
Night jumped as Brute appeared beside him. His pelt turned to the color of the forest around him, hiding him from sight for a moment. Confusion, shock, and surprise hit him a second later. Night pinned his ears, realizing it was coming from the male. His pelt, that was once forest color a moment ago, was now going through three colors. Turqoise ran through his coat along with white, black and a light blue. Finally, it turned a bright blue, like a neon sign. Night sat down, hearing Brute's question but deciding to try and calm his pounding head before answering.
Finally calming himself down enough where his pelt was a grey and dull yellow, he looked over at Brute only for his paws to turn white again. Night could see through the male. It looked like he was looking at a ghost with purple eyes. "I could say the same to you," Night responded, his voice catching a few times. He breathed in and out before his pelt turned purple. Feather. He needed to get back to his mate. "Okay, we need to get back to camp. I don't know why you look like a ghost but if you can walk or er-float, follow me." Night said, turning back to Brute.
Night turned back in the direction of camp in time to hear a soft call. Raven. The beta would know what was going on. Nodding to Brute, Night takes off in a steady pace, heading back towards camp. The closer he got, the slower he went until he came to a complete halt at the edge of camp. There was so many emotions barging at him and his pelt was starting to show it again. He looked like a rainbow having a bad day. Every so often, his pelt would flash a bright pink before returning to ever-swirling colors.
Finally, Night shook his head and pushed his way into camp, trying to push out all the emotions. Feather. Feather. Where was his mate? Panic fills him, but it's not just his own this time. It pulls him in several directions, one of which also had threads of anxiety and. . .alertness? Who could be alert right now? His eyes find Aspen first before finding Feather laying down next to the male. A dark pink color spread across his pelt before the purple returned, practically broadcasting his gratitude for the male staying by his mate's side.
Night trots over to her, curling around her carefully as his pelt continued to change colors with the emotions around him. "I'm here now. Are you alright?" He said quietly in her ear, making sure he was close to her but also giving her space as well. Her pelt had changed as well, which he noted subconsciously, but was a bit more worried about her at the moment.
Brute l 3 l Male l Hunter l M: Night, Feather, Aspen
Brute watched as the Sentinel's pelt changed from color to color. Brute couldnt believe himself. After that lightning flash everything had changed. Brute always had known he was faster and mire agile then most wolves, but teleportation? No. Still at loss for words, Brute began to follow Night. Every couple steps, Brute began to hear words, inside his own head. "Feather. Feather" he knew who Feather was, Night's mate. Wait, could Brute listen to Night's thoughts? Brute began to feel a sense of panic and alertness, which seemed to be coming from Night. As they entered camp, Night ran to Feather. Brute had followed a long ways behind. As he entered camp as Night got to Feather. Suddenly, another wave of energy passed through him, and a blue light filled his vision, and engulfed him. Before he knew it, still at a trotting pace, he was right in front of Feather and Night. He tripped over the two, landing behind them. All energy almost drained from him, he was able to say. "Sorry, need to learn how to control this stuff." Before laying his head back down.
Zenda | 2 | F | Herbalist's Apprentice | M: Medic's Den
Zenda heard a loud bang, jumping out of her skin, her head turning towards outside, streaks running through the sky. She stepped outside to see if she could get a closer view. Zenda looked up at the sky with a light in her eye. She turned around to see Flame and her Mentor. Zenda gasped at Flame's coat, it looked different!
She walked towards her, her tail wagging. "Flame! Your coat!" Something was off, how come her vision was getting blurry? She seemed to be getting ignored? Oh no! What in the world was happening? Worried, she glanced back at camp before running out of the den, black spots clouding her eyes. As she dashed out to camp, stopping in front of Brute, could he see her?
All of a sudden, she popped up in front of Brute out of thin air, falling to the ground, her vision completely clouded over, making her blind.
The familiar scent hit her nose before her ears picked up the sound of hurried pawsteps, lifting her head she was met with Night..or what smelled like him. His coat had changed, waves of color flickered over the male's fur. It reminded her almost of the dancing lights she'd seen towards the far north. Smiling as her tail thumped softly against the ground, Feather pushed her nose into Night's shoulder helping ease her racing heart. "I'm alright, now that you're here" she voiced softly. Glancing to the side revealed Brute appearing before them, however before she could respond he'd tripped over them. She grunted softly at the impact, chuckling as she leaned further into the warmth of her mate. "We'll all need to learn how to use our new abilities." Feather voiced gently.
This caused her to pause however, just what were her new abilities? Or perhaps they were attributes? She wasn't sure, Feather knew her pelt had changed but was that it? A soft call sounded from within the camp, pulling her from her thoughts she lifted her head to spot her brother. Raven had also returned, wisely making a call for everyone to gather. Feather frowned as her gaze swept the area, a few others seemed to have moved about and some seemed to have changed a great deal. Startling as it might be, if this was anything like last time they would adapt. She glanced towards Aspen who seemed to have made his way to the medic den, his gaze seemed to search the camp anxiously. "Has his sister not returned yet?" Feather whispered, frowning with concern for the young apprentice. Looking toward her brother she hoped the female was alright, or that someone would help her back.
Flicking an ear as she understood, Mithra fell in step behind the beta and lead sentinal. She wasn't sure what to make of the frost coming off her pelt, but she'd deal with that later. Right now their top priority was the safety and wellbeing of their packmates. A cry sounded over the trees and the beta rushed forward, causing Mithra to launch herself after the male. Skipping to a stop as she passed the entrance, she could make out a few familiar pelts. Along with some that changed yet retained familiar scents. The male beside Feather was most likely Night, the queen wasn't one to get so close to other males.
However she paused realizing something, had that been...a body she'd passed? Her head turned back to the camp entrance, an ear flicked back hearing the beta's call. But she hesitated, she could've sworn she'd seen the form of a wolf collapsed outside of the camp. Or was she seeing things? A glance over the camp told her no one else had seen the form, yet most probably hadn't left camp or rushed back without noticing anything. Mithra frowned turning to the lead sentinal, a question held within her gaze as she motioned her nose towards the camp entrance. Silently asking if she'd seen it too. Her body felt heavy as the frost built around her paws briefly before thawing again. She'd really have to figure out how this worked or it could lead to some..difficulties later on.
The medic hadn't responded, but it seemed others had started to return. Turning away from the den he dipped his head to Night as the male joined his mate, closely followed by Brute? Hm, so the hunter could teleport? Well that was something, he shook his head. Lifting his head as he heard the beta call the pack to gather, his gaze shifted to scan the area. Noting the presense of others who'd moved about, yet he could spot his sister. Even her scent had gone faint by now. This caused his hackles to raise in unease, where was she? Who know what this flash had changed for her, she could be stuck or worse hurt. He shook his head as he felt his pelt tingle, no he had to remain calm. Least until he knew exactly what his abilities were. Aspen frowned feeling the faint tremor beneath his paws as worry clawed at his stomach. Gaze turning to the beta breifly before scanning the camp again, where was she? Where was his sister?
Sparrow heard what sounded to be like lighting, her eyes shot up to the sky. She stood frozen in place, watching streaks of color as they danced around the sky. How beautiful yet strange. She hadn't been able to see the streaks the year prior yet she knew that this is what her packmates had been whispering about. She didn't feel any different other than a bit wet. It took a moment for it to register that she shouldn't be wet. A glance down at her paws showed that they were not hers! If theses grey paws weren't hers, than whose were they? She spun in a circle to see her tail. Whose large, fluffy, grey tail was this?! What did she look like now? What happened to her coat?
It didn't take long to find a puddle that she hadn't noticed before to gaze in. She... she was so different! What would her mate think of her now? Did he look different? A bunch of thoughts flashed through her mind, eyes wide with panic. A few deep breathes later, she was calm and had begun her desend home. It didn't take too long and she'd managed to catch two rabbits on the walk back. She'd found them in shock still staring at the now calm sky. She entered camp, gazing around. She didn't see any signs of her mate, had he not returned yet? A feeling deep down caught her attention. It was a deep sorrow yet she didn't know why she felt sad. She was sure that he'd be just fine. Her eyes fell on her Beta as she made her way towards Raven. "Raven.." Her voice trailed off, "Is everyone alright and has anyone seen Grenith?" Her aqua eyes were strained with worry and her voice was quiet. Over her shoulder she surfed through the sea of familiar faces... well, at least some familiar faces. Would she be able to recognize him? No no, she was sure that she could! He was her mate. Even if not,, his scent of sandlewood would have gone through the air and caught her attention. He wasn't here. She gave Raven another worried look, sitting by him, allowing him to speak.
