Romulous heard Luna call the herd to rest. He pricked his ears, extending his previously tucked legs for a landing. He landed a bit roughly, coming to a sliding stop. He had bowed his wings out to cause more wind resistance in attempt to slow himself faster. There were skid marks on the ground behind him, and he stole a glance over his shoulder at them, shaking his head in disaproval. He quickly recovered his tall posture, trotting over to a patch of clover to graze. He lowered his crown and began to nibbles at the weeds. They were sweet; the small white flowers his favorites. They were the sweetest. He happily ate his food, picking his head up every so often to take a look around.

Lily listened to Luna's concerns before nodding her head, "As long as you stay close to the herd and the clouds, you wouldn't be spotted. Once your in the clouds, your pelt will naturally blend in even though it's dark out. And you will be able to see the herd from that vantage point." Lily said gently, watching Luna. It must be hard not being able to fly even though you have wings. "If anything happens, I will send a pegasus up to get you." Lily reasurred her, even though she believed nothing would happen in that short amount of time. It was still best to be alert and ready though.

Luna have a small sigh. "Alright. But I won't be long" she said before she spread her wings. The alicorn mare reared before she galloped toward the meadow. After a few strides, she was airborne, her wings flapping in beat to her strides. Luna felt her mane starting to fly, her tail steaming behind her as she gained altitude. Within a few moments she was in the clouds, spiraling, feeling somewhat free. She stopped after a moment before she watched the herd below her, all seemed peaceful for the first time in a while.

When he raised his head, Rom saw Luna soaring towards the clouds, but a ghost flitting though the mists. He smiled knowingly; it was good for her to get some freedom once in a while. He stopped grazing, and paid closer attention to the ongoings of the herd. He exhaled contentedly.

Lily watched Luna go, feeling her happiness and peace as she took off. She watched for only a moment before trotting around the herd again, scanning the perimeter of the meadow and trees for any predators. She made a wide circle, making sure that everyone was safe and nothing was sneaking up on them. Shadow had taken off again, no doubt staying away from the herd but still staying close enough to help if something did come up. She couldn't figure the stallion out, but now was no time to think about it. She went around to the front of the herd, watching the herd as her ears rotated slowly, taking in every sound and she scanned the edge of the tree line.

Sky looked around and sighed as Storm spread his wings to cover her. She shook out her mane as she spotted Rom. She remembered his words, but she wasn't sure what he meant by it.

Luna watched the herd for a moment more before she made her way down for a landing. The lead mare landed gracefully as she shook out her mane. She had needed that flight more than she realized, but she felt more tired than before. *I can rest once everyone else has* she thought.

Romulous, whilst glancing about, found his gaze lingering on Sky. When he realized he was staring, he quickly redirected his attention elsewhere, clearing his throat. He gave his head a rough shake, clearing the fog from his mind. Was it warm out here or just him? He unfurled his wings, and flapped them in place, attemtping to cool himself off by fanning himself. He tossed his head again, piroutting, still fanning himself. Maybe if I fly I'll cool off, the air is thinner the higher I go. Without warning he launched into the air, straight off the ground. It would have required a tremedous amount of muscle to do so, but he managed to pull it off. He sailed through the air, pumping his wings. It did help, the air was colder up here. He banked left, making a wide circle around the meadow.

Shadow flew deep in the clouds, his black pelt blending in with the night sky above him. He could see the white alicorn land gracefully on the ground. He watched for a moment more before flapping down, powering himself upwward as he came out to the top of the clouds. He traced a wing to the stars above him. There was millions of stars but there was only one that could lead the way. The north star shone brightly above him and he relished in the peaceful wind helping him to glide.

Sky lowered her head with a small sigh. The gray mare watched as her brother started to fall asleep, and once he was out, she slowly stood up and walked back into the meadow. She glanced around and had seen Luna come in for a landing before the gray mare looked to the sky, wondering what it was like to fly. Her ears twitched as a small breeze hit her. Standing out away from Storm was odd to her. Sure, she liked being near her brother, she was a shy mare, but at times he was overly protective, which didn't help her at all.

While banking on the wind, Rom caught a sight of Sky again. She was out by herself; well away from her brother who seemed to have a hobby of hovering over her. He pricked his ears in interest, banking harder against the breeze. He was nearly sideways in midair, but he didn't much mind. Vertigo was something he didn't need to worry about.
