She lay on the ground, patient despite the fierce winds rushing around her, urging her to get up and run. But she needed to stay. To help Indigo. To help the new cub. Naita forced herself to lie still, easing her breathing down in a soothing, relaxed manner. But she managed to make her flanks heave as if struggling for breath.

Chaos apologized to Echo, "Please go with this lioness. I need to check on the dominant lioness. I'll talk to you soon." He leaped up, and ran in the direction that Kira had come from. He followed her scent trail back to where Indigo had had her cubs. "Indigo!" he shouted. There was a strong smell of blood, and he was afraid that if she was by herself, it would attract hyeenas. He smelled death and he braced himself for what he would soon see.

Heart pounding, she could make out the scents of a lion from Chaos pride nearing. Not just any scent. This scent held the heir of Dominance. She went pale, ears flicked back, trying to hide her awakefullness. Carefully she took her paw and dug a claw into the side of her face. A small puncture. She then took the blood spilling from the small wound and tried to smear it over her body, as a disguise.

Chaos
Chaos cast his gaze around the area. He saw a few dead cubs, after birth, and then he saw a lioness. He got a little closer and he knew it wasn't Indigo. He checked out the dead cubs first. They were definitely dead. He wondered where his Indigo was. He decided to check on the unknown lioness, so he walked over to lean down and check on her.
He could smell that she wasn't the dead smell. "Are you okay?" he nudged her, "What happened? Where is Indigo? Are there any surviving cubs? Where are your pridemates?" He was trying to figure out what had happened from the scents. He recognized that she was one of the lionesses that Siku had let stay and help Indigo. They better not have harmed Indigo, he growled in his mind.

Naita winced as Chaos came closer. She could smell and feel the breath on her neck. When he asked her questions, she fluttered open her eyelids, pretending to look dazed. “Indigo knocked me out.” She had forgotten to stutter, she realized with her heart sickening with dread. Hopefully he didn’t notice. “She... had no surviving cubs...” She gulped at her lie. She was doing this for good, she reminded herself. “Indigo... is nomad... pridemates... at camp.” She finished, trying to make herself sound raspy and exhausted. She took a paw and motioned to the blood on her body. “Indigo.”

Chaos
Chaos thought something was odd about the lioness, when she began to speak. Now that he was closer, he didn't see much blood. If she had truly been knocked out he imagined there would be more blood. She also didn't seem to shaken at first. He didn't know why she would have a reason to lie to him. He studied her while she spoke, and she just seemed off. He could chalk it to being attacked, but he wasn't sure. He smelled Indigo's scent and it headed in the direction of the Damu Pride. He decided to try something and see if his hunch was correct. "Lioness! You are a terrible liar," he growled and leaned closer into her face, "Tell me the truth!"

That doesn't make it where you don't have no idea of where she went. He just probably wouldn't be able to track her the whole way or very far. Besides for a few steps he can see the mud tracks.)

She decided to hold steady. Her mind raced with possibilities. Indigo depended on her. “Indigo... and I... were attacked by hyenas... she led them away after they attacked me. She saved my life, I must thank her.” She gulped, hoping she put on a good enough show for the dominant of his pride.
