Grayson "Lorde" Brixton | Male | 15 | Rogue | Mentions: Rogue

"I'm not even going to try with you. The reason I do things is my business." Grayson muttered at Marcus' first string on words. Now on his side, Grayson's face was digging into the hard ground. He could already feel small pieces of broken road sticking to his cheek.

However Marcus' grip gradually slipped away. He drew his wrists into his chest and rolled back over onto his back. His wrists were red from where Marcus had been holding them so tightly. With a small groan he lifted himself into a sitting position. With his right hand he brushed often small pieces of debris from his cheek. When he finally looked upright he flinched as a kick from Marcus grazed his shin.

The next thing he saw made his blood boil. Marcus' firm grip on Grayson's board did him no comfort. He started to get up, but carefully slid back down to the ground. If he made even a semi aggressive move, he'd probably end up back on the ground.

Settling his elbows on his knees he clasped his fingers together.
"Like I said before, I didn't hack anything." At least he didn't take anything from them. He had however hacked into a mainframe just to see if he could.
"Well, there's a couple Rogues who race for all or nothing... So there's that. The bulk of what I get comes from... Actually, you don't need to know... But I have a feeling you aren't going to give up... Crews, uh, pay me. They give me jobs... and I do it. Its like a trade, I do something for them, they pay me. I call in a favor, and I pay them back later. Speaking of which, That's why I can't give you any points. I mean, right now..."

Marcus Kingston | M | 19 | Lions' Boarder | Mentions: Grayson

Perhaps because he felt like he'd already been victorious in this particular scenario, he didn't feel any driving inclination to punish the kid further. Plus, there were no cops anywhere nearby to spur his fighting nature. He relaxed slightly, confident that he was coming out of this with the points he needed. He'd be back on his hoverboard in no time. It was just a matter of getting back to the station before they shut down for the night, which was going to happen if he had anything to say about it. He had to get it back today, he couldn't stand going an entire night without his board.

So, what Marcus was getting out of his explanation was that, despite Lorde's insistence that he was a Spartan, he had no more loyalty than the average rogue. He worked for everybody and anybody, flitting about like the spineless wannabe he was. Marcus scoffed haughtily, "Yeah, figures you'd do something like that. What, getting your own crew disbanded wasn't enough, you gotta go around breaking up other crews, too?"

No points? Yeah right. He didn't like that answer. He hadn't done all this work just to walk away with nothing, after all. His eyes narrowed suspiciously, anger flashing under the skin like a rush of heat. "What's that supposed to mean? There's no way you've already dumped all 8000 points, unless you were off playing payday with every cop on the block." He growled, dropping the end of the kid's board down to the ground a little harder than necessary.

Much as he tried to thwart it, there was that little rise of panic that crept into his voice, his mind immediately racing to the worst case scenario, and immediately blaming the kid for every misfortune that had come his way today. He just had points a few hours ago. Lorde was lying, trying to get him to ease off and leave him alone, he had to be. Marcus needed those points.

Grayson "Lorde" Brixton | Male | 15 | Rogue | Mentions: Marcus

A lot of people thought of what he did as horrible. He wouldn't go into detail about what exactly he did, but it did ruin careers. Of course he didn't kill anyone, no one had asked him to, and if they did he would say no. He was very picky with jobs he would do. It couldn't be for no reason, and it had to pay enough.

Grayson's lips formed into a frown. "You obviously don't know how to leave a subject. This isn't how you make friends at all..."

The younger boy shifted on the ground at the sudden aggression once more. He knew that wouldn't make him too happy, but of course, Marcus' happiness was not his priority.

"No you idiot, I've still got it. The bottom line is though, its not for you..."

Grayson actually winced when his board's edge hit the ground. Taking in a deep breath he glared at the older boy. "If you damage it, I'm literally going to kill you."

Grayson's bracelet gently 'binged' and he tapped it open. A small hologram popped up showing a map of a couple blocks. Two dots labeled 'Trey' and 'Harmond' were coming close to the location. They had been chasing him earlier in the morning. If they were close that meant it was time to get out of here. Trey and Harmond wouldn't chase after him for more than two days, and this was the second day. If he lasted for today he wouldn't have to worry about it.

He sighed a bit before starting to stand up. Once up all the way he put his hands up, in line with his shoulder blades. No need to get jumped again.

"It seems that our time together... is well coming to an end. I'm going to need my board back... Unless you want someone to come and kidnap your new currency source..."
Sometimes he really hated the technology that was usable for everyone. Using a certain app you could figure out who all was near, and it didn't take much to figure out their exact location. All you had to do was be in a block radius. It wasn't supposed to be released to the public, it was for government use. Yet, it happened anyways.

He was getting a little more anxious now that he didn't even realize that he had taken several steps forward. His eyes were now trained on his board. If he could just kick it away from him, it wasn't like it was that hard. He would prefer if Marcus would just give it to him though. Of course... He wanted his points. Boards were made to fit more than one person though...

Marcus Kingston | 19 | M | Lions' Blocker | Mentions: Grayson

"I don't need friends, especially not friends like you. I don't need anybody. You don't know shit." He snarled again, fiercely defending his independence. It was no easy feat to survive out on the rough Xona streets, but it was something he'd done, somehow. He had a crew, of course, and that had helped greatly, but there'd been a time before that, and he'd managed. He prided himself on being a survivor. This kid didn't know, but Marcus wasn't about to volunteer any information, either.

His eyes narrowed, his stance shifting in readiness as Lorde got slowly to his feet. Oddly enough, all he did was raise his hands and then go to check his bracelet, all strangely passive moves. He didn't seem likely to bolt or do anything too rash, but then again, this was the idiot punk he was talking about here. He'd proved Marcus wrong before.

"You'd better be transferring the points over there. All three hundred and forty." He reminded him harshly, his eyes locking on the kid about as sharply as the grip on his board. He held out one hand to halt his progress, jabbing towards him in a pointing motion. The other hand still held tight to the kid's board. He wasn't letting that out of his sight, not until he had something to show for it. If need be, he'd happily stroll away and find someone to pawn it off on. It'd be worth something. If nothing else, he could strip it for parts, maybe make enough off of that to get his own board back.

His gaze flicked irritably down the length of the hoverboard, a quick visual appraisal, then back to Lorde. He'd gotten close. Marcus didn't budge, his expression just daring him to try something. Yeah, go ahead. Marcus wasn't afraid of a scuffle. It wasn't every day that Marcus Kingston had the upper hand from a physical angle, and he'd already proven it once. At this point, he figured the kid was just talking, trying to distract him or get him to settle down long enough to flip him. Not gonna happen. "I don't give a shit what happens to you. You're not going anywhere until I get my points."

Grayson refrained from a retort, it would do him no good. However he did involuntarily roll his eyes. This was what... the third time he had said 'you don't know shit'. Figures he would keep going at one line over and over again. Grayson would've done it too. If he had a point that is.

He still kept his hands shoulder length from where he was standing but he was more tempted to make a dash for it. "Yeah, uh no transfer happening right now. I already told you the spiel, and I'm not going to again."

He froze in his moving forward progress as Marcus' hand flew out. Swaying on his feet lightly, he was trying to lean over enough to see if the road was clear. If this didn't go 'okay', he could book it, and possibly get out.

"I noticed... So, if you're not going to let me go... I guess you can come with me... and then I'll pay you. I'll get you a board too..."
He was being honest, but only if this didn't work. He could tell that Marcus was a little more relaxed. Kicking out with his left leg, he hit the broadside of his board releasing it with a clatter to the ground. The took a few steps forward and immediately regretted it. His left leg had cramped up, it was an old injury from a riding accident. To much activity, namedly kicking, (which he had done lots of on the ground) had cramped it up. Putting a foot on his board with a staggering hop.

"On second thought I'll just get you a board..."

He uttered a snarl and grabbed for the board as it fell free from his hands and dropped to the ground. He didn't try too hard, though, perhaps encouraged by the fact that the kid had immediately staggered and limped onto the board. Marcus didn't think he'd done any lasting damage during their brief scuffle, but he could be wrong. As far as he was concerned, a minor injury was a small price to pay for those 340 points, plus, Marcus himself had come out untouched. Well, except for the increasing damage that had been done to his jacket. Maybe he'd have to bump up the price a little bit, since this kid seemed determined to ruin his style.

He maneuvered himself in front of the kid and stood solidly in the way of the board, trying to block him from going anywhere. His arms were crossed and there was a sneer on his face as Lorde mentioned finding him a board. He didn't want just any board, he wanted his board. Substitutes weren't gonna cut it.

"I'm not letting your punk ass out of my sight until I get my points. With the sort of cash you've been flaunting, I think you can afford to get me a board and my points. Better it go to me than those pigs at the station." He said, scoffing at the sight of the kid's struggle. What a drama queen. He leaned in close and aimed a shove towards the kid's chest, more intended to aggravate than injure. "Oh please, you think I'm gonna feel sorry for you if you act like a wimp."

ah yes, Marcus' favorite response to any situation: "you don't know shit" - he's so eloquent

Thankfully, Marcus hadn't thwarted his entire plan. Yet, it now was taking a turn of events. He hadn't counted on his old injury acting up. His board rumbled underneath him. He could literally just leave right now. Well, he'd have to run over Marcus now, since the older teen had moved in front of him.

Reaching down he gently caressed his knee before standing back upright.
"So you're not going to let me go... How did I see that coming..." He said with a sarcastic tone. "Okay, so, on the honest lives we have... I'll go, be back in say 20 minutes and pay you then. Meanwhile you can stay here, jump another kid or two huh?" He said while cocking his head a bit. "Or you can come with me, which is really rather not. So how about we go with the first one yes?"

He hadn't expected the shove that came from Marcus which in returned caused him to swerve backwards. His hands went back up by his head to show he wasn't about to do anything. Or at least try and pretend. It never hurts to try anyways.

Carefully he moved to the side where he had a better shot of leaving, meaning Marcus wasn't directly in front of him.
"I don't need your pity so, no. No person who jumps a 15 year old is probably going to have enough heart to feel sorry anyways."

Marcus closed the gap again and drew close again, his temper steadily inflamed by this insolent punk's insistence. His chin lifted in a sneer as he looked down at Lorde - he was pleased that he still had about an inch on him, even while perched on his hoverboard. That was worth appreciating for a moment.

"What, you think I'm stupid or something?" He snapped back, pushing forward in another show of taking the kid's space. Back up if you're afraid, that move said. Even if one wasn't afraid of the hostile boy with the scarred face, it was human instinct to move away when something came into one's space. It was probably one of his more subtle moves, which was really saying something for him. "What reason have you given me to believe you'd come back in 20 minutes, or an hour, or even five minutes. I'll tell you. Nothin'. You're some special kind of dumb if you think I'm about to let you just cruise off without some collateral other than the promise of a crew busting rogue like you."

There he went, shooting off his mouth again without thinking. The kid, that was, not Marcus although him too. The accusations of being heartless really needled at his conscious, yeah right. If the intent was to stir up some guilt, well, he'd failed on that, but Marcus was getting plenty angry again. He'd been fifteen once, too, and there was no way he'd been anywhere near this obnoxious. "You know what your problem is? You don't ever think."

He went in for another shove, intending to do more than just jar him a little this time, but found his attention swiftly diverted by a yell coming from the far end of the street. It had been empty when he'd first come down here, and he'd been so fixated on Lorde that he'd practically zoned out from the outside world for a few minutes there.

Grayson "Lorde" Brixton | Male | 15 | Rogue | Mentions: Marcus, (Trey, Harmond)

"It never hurts to try. Anyways, neither of us really know anything about each other. There's always a chance of something going right." Upon Marcus getting closer the scowl on Grayson's face became more prominent. Taking up someones space as a way to intimidate was common, in fact he had been in many situations. That didn't mean he was good at holding his ground. He couldn't help but move backwards a little bit, returning the original space that was between them.

"It'd be the nice thing to do, and while you'd be at it you could learn how to trust people." He retorted with a small smirk that quickly faded. Marcus was basically bombarding him with words over and over again that it was hard to keep up. He still though came back with a quip.
"At least that's only one problem. I couldn't even count how many you have."

Grayson attempted to move back even more as Marcus stepped forward to shove him once more, thankfully the older boy stopped. He was running out of room to back up at this point. The cause of Marcus stopping though caused panic to erupt in Grayson's chest. Speeding towards them was the two he had tagged earlier. Trey was the taller of the two and was about 17 years old. Harmond, well he was only a few inches shorter, but was a tad bulkier. He wasn't sure about his age though.

They were heading straight for them, well above the speed limit of these parts. Without really thinking he took off to the side of Marcus and was headed towards the side exit. At least Marcus was right about one thing, Grayson was too brash. If he had taken a moment to think he would've know that they were going to have arrived before he could get away. Which he undoubtedly paid the price for. The force of Trey's body and board slammed into him, sending him back where he came from.

Grayson unsuccessfully stopped, hitting his backside against the wall.
"Hey Lorde! We Promise we won't rough you up too much if you cooperate!"
Trey's board hummed loudly as he came up aside of Marcus while Harmond went forward to get Lorde.
"Did he scam you too? If you've got a problem, we'll give him back to you after we're done with him. Sounds good?" Trey tilted his head as assessed the other teen in front of him. "Have I seen you from anywhere?"

Grayson was jerked roughly upright to his feet by Harmond. Upon Grayson's struggles he found himself with one arm wrenched behind his back as the older teen patted him down for anything useful.

Marcus didn't move. He didn't even step away as the two boarders whizzed by in pursuit of Lorde. He wasn't thrilled to be interrupted, no, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't a little amused that the kid was paying the price for trying to worm his way out of every situation he landed in. As long as he still had his points by the time they were done, he didn't much care what they did to him.

His eyes narrowed and he fixed the one who'd come up to him with a hostile glare, daring him to try anything. He was feeling the loss of his board acutely at this point, painfully aware that there were three people here with boards, while he was still grounded. Basically defenseless. It was the worst feeling he could come up with, but that didn't make him nervous. If anything, it exacerbated his fight response and ramped up his aggression.

"You should. Name's King." He replied, his voice clipped and his hands curling into fists like he was just asking for a fight.

He sized the other boarder up. They both looked older than the kid, not that that was a difficult thing to accomplish, considering he looked like he was about twelve. A little younger than him, maybe hadn't been on the streets as long. Still, there was no way they could go anywhere without hearing about the Lions, and if Marcus just had his board, he'd be marked instantly as someone to avoid harassing. As it was, maybe it was better than he didn't have anything too obviously identifying on his person. Well, aside from his face. It could be potentially embarrassing to his crew to be seen traipsing around during the day without a board.

He gave a little jerk of his head over to the wall and his gaze followed, briefly considering Lorde's position. An interrogation of sorts, one of a decidedly physical variety. Good. Call it revenge for Marcus' earlier and entirely undeserved beatdown courtesy of the cops. "Kid owes me some points but he ain't giving 'em up. What he do to you?"
