Grayson "Lorde" Brixton | Male | 15 | Rogue | Mentions: Marcus

The boy glared back at the older teen as he was questioned. Upon hearing the other kid's name Grayson memory seemed to click. He'd heard of this guy before, he wasn't sure from where. All he knew was that he had. Grayson turned his focus to Marcus and stared straight back at the other boy. The corners of his mouth pulled up as he stared back at the other boy. Cops never made anyone feel really... comfortable.

When the cop asked for his identification he stuck out his wrist to the officer who was now in front of him. The cop scanned it and gave a grunt.
"Lorde... I remember you... At that age you shouldn't have been out on the streets regardless. Do you want to tell us your real name now? Or just let us track you down at the station?" The cop asked.

Grayson shoved his hands into his pants pockets and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't feel any inclination to say it. Anyways you can't find a ghost, so good luck with it at the station." The boy snickered.

Lorde was the only possible thing to find in any database. His birth wasn't recorded, and he didn't get a bracelet until he was 7, to which his brother had given him the name Lorde. It had stuck to say the least.

The cop wasn't too impressed with his answer. The cop then pulled off a pair of handcuffs from his belt. He reached for Grayson who quickly jumped out of the way. However, he had underestimated the cops reflexes. In a quick moment he was turned around as the cop cinched the cuffs tightly behind his back.
"Are you actually being serious..." He groaned while tilting his head backwards.
"Sorry Champ. If you're Lorde then, we've gotta take you in." The cop responded while putting his attention on Marcus and the other cop. Grayson was pushed up against the opposing wall where he now faced the rather angry looking Marcus.

Like what they had done with Marcus' board, his own also followed, clattering to the ground.

Upon hearing the question from the cop in front of Marcus, Grayson interjected his own sentence.
"Oh you know Marcus. He's not too intellectually gifted, so he likes to bully other people..."

Marcus Kingston | M | 19 | Lions' Blocker | Mentions: Grayson

He'd be lying if he said he wasn't at least a little amused by the kid's - "Lorde", whatever - rough treatment. It was infinitely satisfying to see him cuffed after dealing with his insistently needling attitude. He allowed himself to throw a nasty sneer in the kid's direction. Served him right for chasing him down. Lorde the wannabe Spartan should have minded his own business, and kept away from the King. The most frustrating part of it was that hearing that name confirmed that he'd been telling the truth about being a Spartan. Or, that he'd stolen someone else's bracelet and identity and was playing at being some renegade. That sounded better in his mind, so it was the story he was accepting for now.

Although Marcus wasn't exactly cooperating with the cops, he wasn't making it completely impossible, either. He was just refusing to engage any more than necessary, which was pretty good behavior for him, all things considered. Well, he had been behaving decently, but the kid swiftly put an end to that. At the verbal jab, he whipped around, practically snarling, his temper instantly reignited into a raging firestorm. Fine, if that was how he wanted to play it.

"The hell did you just say about me?" He growled and then, without any further warning, launched himself towards the kid, determined to finish this thing right now, cops or no.

Unfortunately for his sense of vengeance, he didn't make it too far before he felt himself abruptly being dragged away and forced into the wall. Brick scratched sharply along his jaw, and his glasses pressed hard against his cheek, the thick plastic almost cutting into his skin. He sucked air and lobbed a few more winded curses for good measure, aimed at any and everyone in the nearby vicinity. His angry, indignant shouts only escalated as his wrists were cuffed, with a healthy dash of personal insults directed at the cops as well.

The cop, who definitely didn't make enough for this, paid the insults and his surprisingly energetic struggle no mind as he hauled him towards the waiting hovercar. He nodded towards his co-worker with the Spartan, and said, "We're all going for a ride down to the station."

"I didn't do nothing, it was all that little punk - get off me, let go!" Marcus spat uselessly as he twisted and kicked, and generally made the cop's attempts to get him into the vehicle anything but a cakewalk. He wasn't like that wannabe Spartan, of course he wasn't about to roll over and make it easy.

After his witty response he was yanked from the wall and pulled erectly. Grayson rolled his eyes at Marcus before returning his attention to the cop. Grayson winced as the hard metal pressed into his wrists. Honestly, he thought the cop had tightened them too much. With his hands restrained behind him, he couldn't exactly stick up his third finger when Marcus lunged at him. Thankfully the space in between them was large enough, and the police presence made it to where he wasn't harmed.

The cop pulled his attention again.Pressing a few buttons on the cop's own bracelet, a hologram popped up. Just as soon as it opened the cop closed it before he could get a good look at it.

"Well, we have images from the Spartan incident. I'm betting yours is in there, with a couple of clues. Hmm?"

Grayson simply scowled and turned his head back at the now writhing Marcus. Once clipping cuffs on the older boy The other cop announced that they were going to the station, which another problem dawned on him. They were about to be locked in the same hovercar...

The younger boy shouted back as the officer pulled him by his cuffed wrists. "Yeah right! My fault, should've thought about that before you damaged other people's property!"

The cop now manhandling Grayson forcibly pushed him into the backseat of the vehicle. A short chain hooked onto the cuffs, securing him to the seat. Then the door slammed shut. His board was loaded into the back of the vehicle. In other words, his fate seemed almost sealed.

Marcus could see how this would end, and he wasn't happy about it. Him stuffed into a police cruiser, a few hours or maybe a day of discomfort, then getting slapped with a some fines or community service. There was no way to prevent such outcomes at this moment in time, and he wasn't sure about how he'd handle the future, but for now all he knew was that he sure as hell wasn't about to go quietly.

The cop virtually had to drag him and force him into the backseat of the cruiser, kicking, twisting, doing anything in his power to make the man's job absolutely miserable. It worked. Both officer and delinquent were panting by the time the boy was secured in the backseat, although he didn't let up his stream of insults and curses.

The door was closed, shutting off the outside world in an unnervingly sound proof interior. The activities of the cops were muffled as they loaded up the boards into the back.

"You better shut your mouth before you say something you'll regret." Marcus hissed at the kid who was now uncomfortably close to him. If only his hands were free, he'd show him. He'd make good on his threats. He was relatively short statured and short of leg, but even he found his knees jammed tightly against the seat's partition. But that didn't stop him, merely slowed him down. It took a good half minute for him to work himself into a position, half leaning against the locked door, where he could aim a kick towards the kid's knee. It was more of a warning, really, and didn't have much power or coordination behind it, but it didn't slip the cop's notice as he came around to get into the driver's seat.

"Hey! Feet on the ground or I'll cuff those too." The cop ordered, smacking his palm against the smudged plexiglass-like material that separated front from back. Marcus glared icily back, but after a minute he did, reluctantly, lower his feet back to the floor.

The cop seemed in little hurry to go anywhere as he plugged in information and fiddled with different instruments in the sleek, but busy dashboard. It was a while before he finally made like he was ready to go. "So, you boys want to talk about this alleged property damage?"

The vehicle rocked with the sudden force of a closing door. Grayson kept his head tucked more or less towards his chest. His wrists were already raw, and he was sure the cuffs wouldn't be going away any time soon. Marcus's loud voice disturbed the silence he had just been experiencing.

Grayson scoffed without turning his gaze.
"And what are you going to do about it? If you hadn't noticed you are restrained."

Against his own wishes, Grayson had grown into a rather submissive state. He was more so quiet and wasn't really paying much attention to the other boy. That is until he noticed Marcus' position. The other boy was technically threatening him. He furrowed his eyebrows and lifted one as of to ask 'really?'

Once the cops were back inside and the question arose he gave Marcus a slight glance.
"I don't know. Why don't you talk to Marcus?"

Marcus scowled and burrowed deeper into the seat back, trying fruitlessly to create as much space as possible within the cramped confines of the cruiser. It would come to no one's surprise that this wasn't his first ride, but, as he was discovering, it didn't grow any more comfortable with familiarity.

His lips were pulled into a sneer as he gave a vague shrug in reply, "Don't know nothing."

He wouldn't go so far as to feel grateful for the kid refusing to elaborate, but he did feel pretty confident that nothing would come of his earlier escapades. It was a matter of his word against the Spartan's, and in that regard, he was sure that both would be considered with a similar amount of belief. That is, the cops would be quick to dismiss the words of a pair of scruffy boarders, especially one who wasn't even supposed to exist.

"Okay, we'll just have a talk down at the station." The cop said indifferently as he steered the vehicle through the crumbling neighborhoods.

Marcus was surprisingly quiet as they drove, but not because he'd yielded. Fury radiated off his prone figure in waves, his shoulders twitching under the strain. Even in this situation, it was impossible to suppress his instinct to aggravate for long. He was rather mosquito-like in that regard. If anything, he felt an urge to be even more antagonistic. He shot a sideways glare at the kid, saying nastily, "Bet you wish you thought this one through, huh."

Grayson's eyes trailed along the several crumbling buildings outside. This was one of the poorer sectors. Well as poor as someone could get. Most of the city was poor. The cops weren't really saying much of anything interesting so the boy decided to tune them out.

He had always imagined what would happen if he was finally caught again. Every single time though he had envisioned himself never letting it get that far. Each time he had evaded the cops... Too bad those were just fantasies. The times he had gotten away before had been pure luck.

Grayson rolled his eyes at the other boy when he spoke. He turned his head slowly and looked rather... annoyed. It wasn't hard to pull off, he after all was a teenager. He leaned forward in his seat as much as he could and jutted his head out a little bit.

"I bet you wish you had grown a brain." Grayson huffed back. He realized he wasn't really glaring. Or staring, or being actually in anyway hostile. Which was quite uncharacteristic of himself. He was rather just... annoyed and disappointed. He was still crude though. His words were laced with a harshness, even if they weren't' the most cruel words.

"Just think about this. If you hadn't done any property damage, we might not be here right now." His voice was low enough that the cops didn't pick up anything he said. Grayson wasn't a snitch. At least not to the police so far. His 'snitching' was more so, gathering information on different crews and then selling it to the highest bidder. Even if that crew had paid him not to sell their own information.

The highest bidder wins. Or more like the quickest.

Marcus didn't like that answer. Oh how he ached to teach this impudent kid a lesson. If only he hadn't been stopped earlier. A muscle in his neck twitched as he swung his head away sharply to stare out the window as he considered his severely limited options. He could ignore the kid - which was definitely not happening in this lifetime, he could try to rile him up - which would be amusing, but possibly difficult, or he could throw a couple more warnings his way - which would make him feel better.

"Or how about maybe, if you'd minded your own damn business, then I wouldn't here right now. I was minding mine, maybe you need to learn how to mind yours." He shot back, struggling to keep his own voice quiet but loaded with plenty of menace. Not an easy feat. From his clothes to his board to his attitude, Marcus was naturally a loud sort of person. Speaking of which, he exhaled irritably and added, "You owe me a new shirt by the way. I'm sure you can find the points somewhere, maybe the same place you got that bougie board of yours."

As the hovercar rolled to a stop outside the police station, Marcus felt a fresh rush of anger, but now mixed with dread, surge over him. Numb heat and blind confusion. He really didn't want to be here. Needles of anxious fury prickled at his skin.

"You are such an idiot." He snapped as the cops came around to the back doors to retrieve the pair. He was too angry for logic, too desperate to do anything but continue to throw blame in the kid's direction. There might have been a chance that he would behave passively as he was unloaded from the back seat, but it was a slim one, and that didn't turn out to be the case.

Moving him from the car to the station would turn out to be another exercise in patience and brute strength as Marcus cursed and kicked and fought.

Grayson could tell he was getting on Marcus' nerves. More like he had been, but it was possibly the cramped spacing they were in and the inability to do anything to him. Grayson himself was rather annoyed, and while he took pride in getting on others nerves, he did forget how it felt to be annoyed. This instance, was only because most people didn't know how to 'push' his buttons the right way.

"Well, you pretty much made it my business with your rock tossing..." Grayson sneered back with an arrogant tilt to his head as he faced back to the other boy.

"You'll have to wait a long time if you want something from me. There's quite a few more people on the 'you owe me something' list. If you convince me though... I can up your standing on the list that is if you can beat me in a race."

That went for everyone. He made other deals too. Since no one had really ever beat him in a race while he was doing this certain business, Grayson made extreme deals. As for that owing list. He most of the time did get around. His allies? He always paid them back... or replaced their stolen item. Their information? That went classified... most of the time. Living as a strategist/racer that was also a rogue wasn't an easy living. That's why you had to have quite a few tricks up your sleeve. Which Thankfully, Grayson did.

The younger boy shrugged at Marcus' last insult. The door opened and the cop released the chain connecting him to the seat. With his arms still restrained behind him, he was helped out of the vehicle. He paused in front of the station and was given a push to convince him to move forward. He almost felt bad for the cop that was struggling with Marcus. Yet, it was their fault they chose to come and break the two hooligans apart.

If the cops had been hoping that Marcus' rebellious attitude would cool down during the ride, they were sadly mistaken. By the time he was inside, he was once again panting and huffing, but hey, at least no one could claim that the work day had been without a dose of entertainment. Perhaps because of that he had not been released, even when finally secured inside an - what he assumed to be - impenetrable room.

Inside the room was very beige, very solid, and very boring. Beige cinderblock for the walls, a beige-painted door, and beige plastic under his feet. There was not a clock to be seen from where he sat occupying one half of a table, one of the few pieces of furniture inside the room. The tabletop which was dinged and pitted along its beige surface.

His shoulders were given a break, and for that he was grateful, as they had been getting awfully stiff in that cramped position. Instead his hands were manacled to the table, looped in such a way so that he could extend one hand nearly to the top of his head, but at the reduced reach of the other hand. It was an improvement, but he would still prefer not to have been dragged in here in the first place. It was that kid's fault, cruising around claiming to be a Spartan. That Lorde really had a big mouth for such a young kid.

He thought about the kid's offer while he waited around for something to happen. Beat him in a race and he'd repay him for the shirt, he'd said. Like that would ever happen. Marcus wasn't some rogue living off racing scraps, and he didn't have to sink so low as to accept the challenge. But that didn't mean that he wasn't seriously considering taking him up on it, if only for the sweet opportunity to crush him beneath his board. He'd never know what hit him.
