Just realized I have a question for the short story

How long would Briar stay with the polycule (excluding Garvin obviously) after calming them all down, at least a little?

Also, the more I'm writing short stories with Garvin the more I'm noticing BPD symptoms. I had assumed that this could potentially be explained by DID instead.

But for funnsies, I decided to see if BPD and DID can be comorbid. And uhhh

Yeah. They definitely can. In fact, a good 30%-70% of people diagnosed with DID are also diagnosed with BPD. So. Uh. Yeah. I might need to do some looking into that for Garvin lmao

He definitely hits that deep seated fear of abandonment. Oops.

As for how long Briar would stay after?

Hmmm, it'd probably mostly depend on three things-

One, how Nico is. Like, they tend to get really clingy after a meltdown, so it would probably depend on if she was clingy with Briar or one of the others

Two, if there's any communication between them and Aries specifically telling them to or not to come back

And three, if they can tell there's tension between any of the polycule. Like, if Revan and Akira looked like they might start an argument, Briar would probably stick around to mediate.

If everything with the polycule seemed fine and they didn't get any communication with Aries, they'd probably wait for a couple of hours at least to head back so Aries had some time to work with Garvin.

Also, I read once somewhere (though I cannot fact check it so grain of salt), that it's apparently like 'buy one get fifty free' once you get diagnosed with one thing, so. Seems fair enough.

Also very fun is that we finally see more of Garvin's trust issues up close and personal, which usually take a backseat in comparison to his self-hatred and all. I mean, you can still read into the trust issues by way of his self-hatred. But it definitely comes off more as self worth issues and self-hatred rather than trust issues.
