Project Vanguard - With the rise of superpowers and non-human traits appearing in recent generations (ie, the last 60-75-ish years, also known as the last 4-5 generations since one generation is about 15 years) causing crime to skyrocket pretty much globally as people begin to use their powers for evil. Thus, the government has funded a new project, Project Vanguard, to take down the rising supervillains using, you guessed it, superheroes.

Only, well, these superheroes are mostly just random people that had been down on their luck or from families that are helping to fund the project. There's a few here and there that were specifically sought out but uh. You know. Mostly just regular government shit of taking advantage of the lower class and favoring the people that fund them.

There's also lots of NPCs of familiar faces that can be interacted with for side shit.
