Here's Karma's first song!
-

Song: Angry Too by Lola Blanc

(With some adjustments to avoid so much repeating and to better fit the characters)

Characters:

Karma, Nashi, Gomi, and Kostas

Context:

This song is mostly about Karma's emotions. It also gives you a little peek into their past, as it touches on why Karma acts and reacts to things the way they do. More specifically, why they're so defensive and quick to snap.

TWs: Vauge mentions of abuse and transphobia

-

(Shortly after Karma and Kostas started dating, which was a couple of years after they met, Karma finally confided in Kostas about a bit of their past after they had an angry episode as a result of a taunting comment from someone Karma vaguely knew from time with their parents... the outburst may or may not have ended in some severe injuries. Good thing Kos was there, lol)

Karma (15), seething and very much trying to control themselves further: "I buried the unseemly urges deep down in the ground with the roots, but it's all coming up to the surface, maybe it's getting ready to bloom."

(Later that same night, Karma starts to panic as everything finally sets in.)

Karma (15), obviously panicking: "And I don't wanna be a monster in the making! I don't wanna be more bitter than sweet!"

Karma, grabbing Kostas's arm desperately, starting to ramble about their past: "I don't know how to be just standing by blankly not getting angry! 'Cause another and another coming up out of the gutter 'til I'm drowning in an ocean of entitled motherfuckers, and they're pushing all my buttons but they never seem to wonder why another and another ask each other:"

Karma, mimicking Nashi: "Does it get your blood boiling? Does it make you see red?"

Karma, mimicking Gomi: "Do you wanna destroy it? Does it get in your head?"

Karma, looking up at Kostas, half panicked, half enraged: "'Cause it gets my blood boiling, and I'm coming unglued! It would hit you like poison if you knew what I knew, you would be angry too!"

(Slight shift in the timeline, it's a few months later, and Karma and Kostas come across a less than friendly passer-by who's shared space with Karma, Kostas, and Quill in the past, and who decides it's a good idea to mock Kostas for his lack of emotion, which immediately triggers Karma despite Kostas ignoring the whole ordeal.)

Karma (15), very much ready to destroy this guy for Kostas's sake: "I'm seeing through crimson sunglasses."

Kostas (16), taking Karma's shoulder gently, trying to calm them: "Start breathing and counting to ten."

Karma, reluctantly backing down: "I guess I'm fresh out of free passes, they'll pay if it happens again!"

(Slight timeline shift. About a year later, Karma's panicking after a flashback, glaring at their hands, and convincing themselves that they're the exact same as their parents)

Karma (16): "And I don't wanna drink the venom they made me
I don't wanna be controlled by the past."

Karma, trying to justify their emotions: "Boy if you were me, could you really blame me? Would make you crazy. 'Cause another and another coming up out of the gutter, 'til I'm drowning in an ocean of entitled motherfuckers, and they're pushing all my buttons, but they never seem to wonder why another and another, ask each other:"

Karma, mimicking Nashi: "Does it get your blood boiling? Does it make you see red?"

Karma, mimicking Gomi: "Do you wanna destroy it? Does it get in your head?"

Karma, starting to sob and break down, torn between being angry at their parents and upset about the fact that they don't believe that they're any better than them: "'Cause it gets my blood boiling, and I'm coming unglued! It would hit you like poison if you knew what I knew, you would be angry too!"

(Larger timeline shift this time. Years ago, when Karma was still living with their parents, they stand in the middle of a stone floor, a gun in hand as their parents watch in amusement)

Gomi, smiling in a sickly-sweet way, to Karma (10): "Calm down boy, why're you so mad?"

Nashi, emotionless, to Karma: "Why's your heart gone rotten?"

Gomi, stepping forward to put a hand on Karma's shoulder, guiding them to lift the gun: "It's all good boy, why're you upset?"

Karma (10), desperately trying to look away as their father's finger covers their own and pulls the trigger: "Guess they have forgotten what they did!"

(Timeline shift. Karma's ranting to Kostas again, crying as Kostas holds them and listens silently)

Karma (16): "And does it get your blood boiling? And does it make you see red? And do you wanna destroy it? Does it get in your head 'Cause it gets my blood boiling, and I'm coming unglued! It would hit you like poison if you knew what I knew! You would be angry, you would be angry, you would be angry!"

Kostas (17), softly, voice filled with rare emotion as he sees the impact Karma's past has on them: "I am angry too."

I absolutely loved that song lyric thing! It was great! Feel bad for Karma, haha.

Here's Goodbye Lulu though! Hope I did it justice. If you can figure out just how bad Giles was, good on you! Enjoy!
-

Song: Goodbye Lulu by Days N Daze.

(With some slight adjustments to the lyrics to avoid as much repeating and make it more accurate to characters in certain places)

Characters:

Garvin, Giles, Lucia, Jusepe, and Kody.

Context:

This one literally just goes over the slow downfall of the group. Explaining why someone would be kicked out, what that looks like, and the different relationships between everyone in the group. More or less.

While the timeline doesn’t change much age-wise, I’ll still give you approximate ages, as per usual. When I give you Garvin’s age, keep in mind that he doesn’t actually know what his age is.

-

*So we start with Kody getting kicked out first. Kody was known as Fever due to his overall less-than-friendly behavior and the fact that green is usually seen as a sick color. Anyways, Kody was kicked out due to his behavior, because he’d ended up getting into physical fights with both Giles and Jusepe. First Jusepe and then Giles. And plenty of verbal fights all around, which normally wasn’t a big deal. But paired with the physical fights, especially the one with Giles, the group left him. Whenever the group leaves someone, they take anything valuable off of them too. Because if they’re a threat to the group surviving, or to themself surviving, then the stuff that would help them survive should go to the ones that are actually trying to do just that. Survive.*

Giles (24), Jusepe (23), Garvin (19), and Lucia (18), using the free train ride method, the train already having begun to leave too, Giles and Jusepe being loud and amused, Garvin and Lucia being half amused; “Goodbye Koko, won't be seein' you again! Stole your pack and boots and shit and left you on the tracks!”

Kody (21), having woken up to this being what’s happening and definitely angry about it; “Hey!”

Giles (24), Jusepe (23), Garvin (19), and Lucia (18), Giles and Jusepe waving, Garvin giving a half wave, and Lucia flipping Kody off as the train picks up speed; “Goodbye Koko, won't be seein' you again! We left you on a freight train, we ain't never comin' back!”

*Again, after the initial feelings of kicking Kody out, the group (minus Giles) kind of had to face the fact that they could be kicked out. And that they had kicked out one of them. After a few cities, it started taking its toll a bit more. Especially on Jusepe, who had been the closest to Kody at one point. Jusepe had been known as Payday due to the fact that he always seemed to have at least triple the base amount they had to come back with. Due to that too though, he was also one of the most indulgent of the group, doing whatever he wanted with the money because he had more stability with it than the others. After the kicking out of Kody really began to take its toll though, Jusepe started being even more careless with his money, which started to lead to bad decisions… So on the night before they leave, and the day they meet up again in the latest city, the group (minus Jusepe) subtly discuss getting rid of him.*

Garvin (19), totally judging Jusepe; “Started hangin' out at punk shows, and you got it in your head—”

Lucia (18), interrupting Garvin, about Jusepe, finishing the thought because she kind of did the same and is a total hypocrite, also totally judging Jusepe; “To leave home on a freight train, 'cause that's what the cool kids did!”

Giles (24), slinging an arm around Jusepe, coming across as amused and like he’s friendly mocking Jusepe; “Now you got some shitty stick and pokes and hepatitis C! Smell like an unwiped asshole and your socks stick to your feet!”

*Suffice to say, the decision to get rid of Jusepe was made. They took everything valuable off of him that night and left him just as they did Kody.*

Giles (24), Garvin (19), and Lucia (18), free train ride method yet again, Giles being loud and amused, Garvin being amused, and Lucia being loud; “Goodbye Pepe, won't be seein' you again! Stole your pack and boots and shit and left you on the tracks!

Jusepe (23), just as angry as Kody was to have woken up stolen from and being left behind, at least wanting his stuff back; “Hey!”

Giles (24), Garvin (19), and Lucia (18), Giles and Lucia waving, Garvin half waving as they leave; “Goodbye Pepe, won't be seein' you again! We left you on a freight train, we ain't never comin’ back!”

*Now with only Giles, Lucia, and Garvin in the group, it was a lot harder to keep up morale. Lucia in particular, who had come from a middle class family before running off to join them, had a hard time keeping a grip on herself and began slipping. She was known as Lucky because a few cities after leaving Pepe, she found a dog that she started to keep. Lucky was kind of a name for both Lucia and the dog, since the two became a duo that Lucia actually made sure came with them, as if the dog had joined the group too. Still, an animal companion wasn’t enough to keep her from slipping enough to cause Garvin and Giles to have to consider leaving her. Garvin really didn’t want to, given how close the two were but well…*

Garvin (19), watching Lucia closely, mumbling and hoping she pulls herself out; “It's a fifth of rum for breakfast and you’re shootin' up at lunch. All coked up in a Walmart screamin',”

Lucia (18), towards a random stranger; “I don't give a fuck!”

Garvin (19), realizing Lucia won’t; “Fuck…”

Giles (24), arm slung around Lucia on the way to get ready to leave, tone friendly and mockingly amused; “Your dog is fuckin' starvin', but you spend a bill on booze?”

Garvin (19), totally judging Lucia, words half mumbled with slight bitterness as he actually thinks about it; “Your parents bought you Nike, you prefer some tattered boots…”

*Easy to say, Lucia was left behind the next morning. The dog was left behind too. They did, in fact, take her valuable items though, as per usual.*

Giles (24) and Garvin (19), free train ride method as per usual, Giles loud and amused, Garvin loud and half amused; “Goodbye Lulu, won't be seein' you again! Stole your pack and boots and shit and left you on the tracks!”

Lucia (18), absolutely pissed since something like this had never happened to her before in her entire life; “Hey!”

Giles (24) and Garvin (19), Giles waving and Garvin half waving; “Goodbye Lulu, won't be seein' you again! We left you on a freight train, we ain't never comin’ back!”

*Surprisingly enough, when it’s just Giles and Garvin, a lot of Giles' traits become abundantly clear. Things that had seemed fine before now are obviously terrible. Or things that hadn’t seemed fine before but were at least tolerable, didn’t matter because the entire group was there and had their own things making Giles seem tame in comparison were now reeling their ugly heads in. In particular, Giles' treatment of everyone in the group, now just Garvin. So while before there were multiple people to scatter the treatment around to… There wasn’t now. Which made things a lot easier to notice. Another thing was Giles’ ideas, habits, and overall behavior. At first though, Garvin really didn’t care that much.*

Garvin (19), beginning to judge Giles but still trying to survive within the duo; “Flew a sign and made some money, now it's time to buy some food.”

Giles (24), arm slung around Garvin with a different idea in mind; “Fuck that, let's buy some heroin!”

Garvin (19), eye rolling and shrugging; “I guess that's just as good…”

*Giles' nickname, Beast, was actually given to him by Jusepe before anyone else ever joined. Because Jusepe had been the first to travel with Giles and had seen some of what Giles was like in a duo arrangement. Of course, habits only get worse with time. And, frankly, Viar probably would’ve gotten along with Giles, to put lightly. At least from what I’ve seen/read/heard so far. Anyways, after a few more cities, it really starts to become apparent that Giles sees a lot of this as a game, that Garvin needs to leave Giles behind before he gets left behind instead or is left a shell or whatever else that could happen.*

Giles (24), tone mocking and amused; “Fuck a restaurant, there's a dumpster, let's see what treats lie inside! It's like Christmas everyday, except the gifts are filled with flies!”

*So, when they’re supposed to be leaving that city together, Garvin steals anything valuable off of Giles and leaves him behind instead. Just like had been done to Kody, Jusepe, and Lucia in the past.*

Garvin (19), free train ride method, and definitely amused; “Goodbye Gigi, won't be seein' you again! Stole your pack and boots and shit and left you on the tracks!”

Giles (24), surprised and pissed at him losing his own game;Hey!

Garvin (19), half waving and flipping Giles off as train picks up speed; “Goodbye Gigi, won't be seein' you again! I left you on a freight train, I ain't never comin’ back!”

*Garvin surprisingly had a harder time moving on about Lucia. The two had been kind of close. Garvin hated having left her behind. He also kind of hated that she left her old life behind, one where a good survivable path had been laid in front of her when he had never had that chance. She threw away what some people would’ve loved to have even a glimpse of. It was complicated.*

Garvin (19), acknowledging what he did to her wasn’t good, wasn’t right; “Goodbye Lulu, won't be seein' you again… Stole your pack and boots and shit and left you on the tracks…”

Garvin (19), acknowledging that she made her own choices and had to deal with the consequences; “Goodbye Lulu, won't be seein' you again… You left home on a freight train, you ain't never goin' back…”

Yeahhh- Giles and Viar meeting would be the absolute worst. Though, honestly, I also totally want to see Garvin meet Viar and play one of the games because like- That'd be hilarious. Especially if Garvin ended up completely fine after because of that street life making him absolutely immune to most stuff at this point XD
-
Honestly, I kind of want to see you do Lemon Boy now since you mentioned that one before lol
