We haven't seen the true amount of Gorōta and Gen'ya angst yet, but trust me, it's there.

Also- Nico telling Revan that he's not the only person to lose people would end so terribly. It'd turn into a whole argument. Not one where Revan denies what Nico said, but one that's a lot of distancing and pushing away and feeling guilty because of that exact reason. He knows other people have been through things, he knows that compared to others his life is easy, he knows others need help more than he does due to those facts, and he knows he should just get over it and move on. (Crywanks' line of 'I know I am privileged and also hurting' works rather well there).

Can't wait for when the group realize that Aries was literally branded by the arena. Man, that is going to be a great time for everyone, mhmmmm.

And, yeah, that makes sense for Briar's memories of it. Aries himself is going to have both a very foggy and very vivid memory of it. Some moments will be vivid and others will be out of reach.

Actually, I can't wait until the arguments start up between Briar and everyone else. A lot of it will probably be because they just act without thinking based on their gut, but, also, Horatio will unintentionally start blaming Briar for shit without even realizing it, mainly due to what he's been told about the past judgement holders. Really though, I think the only people who will be spared from Briar's distressed lash-outs will be Aries, Nico, and Gorōta. Probably not Micha, surprisingly, but you'll see why later. :)

Anyway, all of those will be bad. For various reasons, haha

Yeahhh. Not good. Not good at all. Especially if Briar and Aries are dating at the time, and especially if everyone's got a better feel for their powers by then. Horatio and Briar will be scary. Very scary.

So will Micha, actually, though his anger is more quiet... He may try to bring down the whole filing arena with a tornado while not saying a single fucking word.

And then there's Nico. They'll be angry too, but he's much more likely to actually just try to comfort and talk to Aries than go seek revenge, haha

Yeahhh, poor Revan will probably get yelled at a lot. Mostly by Horatio, but also by Briar. I mean, eventually, when Nico feels like everything is falling apart and they shut down completely, Briar's the one that'll end up being the source of consistent support for them, I mean, they'll probably learn more about Nico's trauma before anyone else (except maybe Revan, depending on how much Nico slips up, haha), and when they find out that Horatio and Revan are being toxic, there will be a whole lot of shouting and anger... after they make sure their bestie is calm again and in a decent enough state of mind, of course.

Ooo, fun. System reboots are great for sure, that'll be interesting-

I will say, though, the mirror thing is kind of a double-edged sword. On one hand, when Briar's in the state of mind like they are now, a mirror is very helpful because it allows them to see that they at least resemble a human, which is the first necessary step for getting out of their head.

On the other hand though, Briar used mirrors all the time, and it's not necessary healthy for them. They over analyze every aspect of themselves, and remember that thing about them having different ideas in their head about what they're supposed to look, sound, and act like? Well, half the time, those ideas aren't accurate, and, when they aren't accurate, Briar panics because they quite literally don't recognize themself. They'll start trying to alter their behaviors and appearance based on the narrative that they made in their head (which is basically a bunch of different little things that people have fed to them over the years mashed into one thing. You need to look masculine. You need to look feminine. You need to be quiet. Be brave. Submit. Fight back, etc.), further losing sight of who they actually are. The mirror can give them clarity or confuse them further. Oh, and, also when their narrative doesn't fit, it can cause extreme panic, especially if someone else just told them something about themselves that they don't find accurate.

Again, a lot of this is based in trauma. They try so hard to be what everyone else wants, grabbing onto different parts of others personalities, what they look like, and things they enjoy, and forcing them onto themselves, all to be what everyone else expects or wants.

It's also why they struggle to take sides, it's hard for them to figure out their actual opinions.

Revan being both relieved and insanely guilty whenever he's yelled at will be fun. Because absolutely nothing is getting solved through an argument. All it does with Revan is prove him right. Even if the point of the argument is the exact opposite.

Haha, yeah- The system reboots are a slippery slope too, since pain is what triggers them. One type of pain will do a system reboot that immediately ends up with him right back in the mindset and a different type of pain will do a system reboot and work as long as it isn't too little or too much. Burning pain will end up with him back in the mindset because it's similar to the pain he felt during the branding, which was literally something done to condition him into that mindset. Whips are similar, as are stabbing pains or slicing pains. Getting punched works fine, as long as it causes substantial pain/damage.

A lot of Aries feeling like he needs punishment stems from the fact that he can actually end up in the mindset if he goes too long without it. That, and all the conditioning that he'll get punished for just about everything so not getting it isn't right. He did something wrong, so he needs it to make he doesn't do something wrong again. And if he gets denied punishment for too long, he ends up in the mindset of being an item again. For a few different reasons.
