Aries and Briar are so wholesome yet so angsty. Like- Aries trying to give Briar all the control in the relationship and Briar just being confused and concerned about that, trying to give Aries compliments and gifts is just- Greatness.

I feel like any arguments these two do have are just because of past trauma and their own tendencies(aka terrible coping mechanisms)

Haha, yeah. Briar not liking his 'friends', 'family', or past 'partners' will be very strange for Aries. He'll be confused and nervous just the entire time, apologizing to both Briar and them just like- As much as possible.

The amount of times Briar will repeat that they aren't upset with Aries at all will be significant for sure, while they also get increasingly angry at the 'friends,' 'family,' and 'partners' because it's their fault their precious idiot feels the need to apologize for something that isn't his fault. XD

Arguments due to Aries's trauma will be crazy. Like, Aries dehumanizing/harming himself, insults to both parties, and even threatening Briar(physically or just threatening to leave) because he doesn't know how else to react to issues other than to apologize, and if that doesn't work then he'll switch up tactics and try what's basically the opposite.

Haha- Yeah. (Usually) The angrier people get, the more apologetic Aries is. So it's a whole cycle waiting to happen.

Oof, yeah. Briar's got a lotta trauma related to people leaving and turning them away, so that should be fun :)

Also, Briar's typically good at keeping calm (when it comes to people they care about, that is), but if Aries pushes the wrong button, they'll likely lash out as well, haha

Aries has a ton of trauma that's basically just taught him that he has to listen completely to others otherwise they'll leave or hurt him and he'd deserve it(and he better apologize if he messed up at all, or if he notices someone's upset because that's obviously because of him). He also has a ton of trauma that's taught him that he has to fight for survival, others, and his right to literally anything. And let's not forget the dehumanization trauma that taught him that he doesn't count as a person, and thus anything that's usually valid for people is not valid for him.

So things get very messy with him.

He'll usually apologize and take all the fault for anything at all- But if the apologies are denied long enough, then he gets confused and the dehumanizing trauma starts to interfere which ends with him reading into everything as threats and insults and he can end up getting overwhelmed to the point where violence seems like the only option.

And if Briar's the one to lash out because of something that Aries did on accident, then he's immediately going to slip into giving them all the control and apologizing just as much as possible. If those apologies are denied then it's a fast track to dehumanization of himself and threats to Briar because he doesn't understand why Briar wouldn't let him apologize. Which obviously just means that either Briar doesn't understand how the world works, so he needs to remind him(the threats) or that Briar's is denying the apologies because they're that upset with Aries that apologies won't cut it but Briar won't hurt him because of some random unknown reason like morals that Aries thinks can be breached if he threatens Briar(thus getting the punishment he obviously deserved in return. Orrr, he'll think the denying of apologies is due to Briar being aware that things can't feel sorry and can't apologize and so the dehumanization starts.

So basically- The arguments would end up being really bad for both of them.

Mhmm, extremely fun. Briar also has some dehumanization trauma (though it's not nearly as bad as Aries's-), so that's a thing too. Though, realistically, Briar will probably panic more if Aries lashes out, lash out in return, and then immediately regret it and basically try to figure out how to not pull away while simultaneously trying to apologize and make things right. It'll be messy for sure, lmao

Also, Aries not understanding why they won't accept his apology will cause more stress because it wasn't his fault, for fucks sake, please stop hurting yourself like this, it's hurting me- Fun!

Also, the arguments will definitely be worse after the exile because Briar will snap easier. They'll basically be in the mindset "The first family that I really trusted and thought cared about me already threw me out, who's to say you won't too?" Even though they definitely trust Aries more than anyone (except maybe Nico) at that point

Man, them both having dehumanization trauma is going to be crazy. Aries will be constantly trying to assure Briar that they're a person and totally worth everything and everyone in the entire universe. Meanwhile also just refusing that same idea if it's ever brought up for himself. Because obviously the people who told him that he's not a person were right and the ones that told Briar were wrong. Which is completely understandable seeing as those people had never met him and thus didn't have anything to actually base the knowledge off of.

Man- That will definitely be messy though. Like. Aries lashes out, Briar lashes out, Aries lashes out more, Briar's panicking and trying to help, Aries being confused and lashing out more, and just this cycle of terrible angst until Aries kind of just breaks down due to overwhelming regret and confusion.

Yeahhh- Meanwhile Aries is like Why aren't they hurting me? They're supposed to hurt me- I messed up, apologizing didn't work, so they're supposed to be punishing me instead. Either that or just a whole bunch of dehumanization while also basically saying the same thing.

As for the exile time- Aries is basically just going to listen to whatever Briar says while also trying to protect them since that's obviously how you help someone who's quick to snap and needs the help.
