Okay so, not sure how to word this. But I have a series of theories about the WP community that all kinda go together, so Ima make three polls to gather data and see if my theories are correct or incorrect. I'll link the other two at the bottom of this post! Please comment your thoughts on this theory and if you've noticed other things as well! Okay, so, I was just going through the art side of the forums, and took a look at Collar's Adopts (Collar's Adopts ) and I noticed he does designs (absolutely adore his art style) but I noticed, especially on the last two on the latest batch, the designs themselves aren't all that complex. (Now I'm not counting the double heads/tails or edits to the base such as the skeleton ones or the chain ones.) And yet, they pretty easily sell for 6+ apples. I also took note that he doesn't do any shading on these adopts. Meanwhile I've done some designs that are just as complex with shading, and yet I have a hard time selling them for even 100 mush. And like I said, I don't know how to word it but I found that as an interesting observation that now that I'm typing it out, I realized translates to real word things like Gucci and smaller businesses. The larger, more well known brands, or in this case people, can sell their designs for higher just because they're more sought after. And I wish I could partner with another, more well known artist to test that theory. I do see what youre saying! Some artists are very well known in the community and their art is in higher demand

Naturally. If someone is well known their art will be in higher demand, and people will pay more for "less" to just have an art piece from that person, it's a kind of self-fulfillment but it plays into social roles a lot too. Unfortunately it makes a strange kind of gap between the newer artists who charge <1 apple for their art and the ones who charge at the very least 30. Speaking from experience, though one can for sure say that time, well, costs. I've had several artworks I've worked with up to 11 hours, and while it might not always be true that newer/less experienced artists spend less time on their art, maybe quite the opposite in fact, that's really just how supply-and-demand works. In real life, too. If more known artists charged very little for their art they'd get swarmed and lose motivation (of course, wp inflation plays into this a LOT) I could also add here that there's usually a certain kind of art style that appeals to people, and that might also be a cause for the subjectively unjust spending on here. Simply put, no one's art style is bad and in fact it SUCKS if you have to change such an important part of yourself just to sell better, but some art styles are preferred by the masses while others unfortunately never get as much recognition. It saddens me cause I'm very often in favor of more unique art styles :p . Essay over lmao. But I love talking about these things and you absolutely have a point

I enjoy these little things too, I just wanted to see other people's thoughts on things! As an artist who can't draw worth a shit but loves to color (and does pretty well at it if I do say so myself :3), it's another thing that is alot harder to get attention and people who want art from me. Everyone wants someone who can draw, which I completely understand, I just wish there was also demand for us little guys who cant draw lmao
