I definitely think you should talk, I voted for lunch or recess since you do need time to actually talk through it but 'after school' there's a chance they could leave etc and you'd miss your chance so lunch/recess would be best I think.

Ah. I might have to get my friends to drag him over at lunch or recess.

Well, he walks to the elementary to go to his mother's classroom and I have to pick up my brother and sometimes my sister.

So I'd talk to him on the way there since all the schools are right next to each other.

Well it's better not to let things build up. The time between the start of school, to the end would be a long build up for you so it's better you decide what to say, get it done with and then you have time to process, deal with it before your next encounter. If you let emotions fester too much it can lead to people saying what they don't mean, chickening out or the sort alike.
