Credits To littlenake @ DA This female stands at a little over 15.4 HH, having a good amount of height to her. She is able to move swiftly across the place she calls home, their is also a certain elegance in the way she walks and a certain pep in her canter. Her body is a mixture of stocky and slender - yet she's make on the slender and lean side of the spectrum, being built more so for speed and endurance than brute strength. While she still can seal a good blow with her hooves, those bigger than her can do more damage of course. She can be said to be a greying mare, you can still see the dark shades of jet black lingering around her legs and hindquarters even though she has a small white cornet on her leg.. Her greying almost looks like stardust in a way, as if it had been dusted on her body - anyways the graying is also extends to her face, except the stark contrast of the white facial markings she dons and the soft pink flesh around her nose. This female often smells of wildflowers and morning dewdrops, a sweet and floral scent that pleases the nose. Her voice, is something smooth and silky, being pleasing to the ears for others to hear her speak.  Personality: When meeting this mare the first thing you notice is the way she carries herself ; she walks with a certain poise in her gait and her head held high, their is certain bounce in her steps and elegance in her canter. One can tell she was raised to be a well-mannered lady ; from the way she speaks eloquently, and always has some sense of charm to her words - the way she speaks is soothing, like honey dripping from her tongue and gentle on the ears of others. When she speaks, she has a definite purpose, she will not make a fool out of herself - as they say, she knows when to hold them and knows when to fold them. She has a certain gift of persuasion, being able to change the mind of others and get them to see it from her point of view - it can be said she is a tad bit manipulative, able to guilt others into doing something or being able to extract information she needs. Now, most don't ring alarm bells because for the most part she is a genuinely nice soul - it is only when you've invoked her fury will she up the ante. She's very intelligent and sharp ; able to come up with plans and solutions to problems rather quickly and effectively, and she's also good with others - able to listen and empathize with them and sometimes even sympathize. She is one with the people, and has a strong connection with them - always willing to listen to their concerns and help them when she is able to. However, while she is giving and warm - she expects it in return, so if she has helped you in the past and she requests your help in a genuine time of need you best believe she expects you to help her. If not, one will find themselves on her bad side - she hates those who don't repay their debts or help others in need, and not to mention ; she absolutely detests her time being wasted by another. She does and will hold a grudge for a long time about that indiscretion ; and you definitely will receive the cold shoulder. One can say she is a bit petty and vindictive when it comes to being crossed or fooled ; you only need to break her trust once before you find yourself needing to feel remorse for being so rude to her. This female is of an even-temper, able to keep her cool and patience under the most troubling situations - she can also hold a slight optimism, being able to rally and uplift others when they are down and give a heartfelt speech to inspire others to keep going. While she may be optimistic, she also is a realist ; able to see things for what they really are, however it's better to be optimistic and keep morale up than just rain on the parade. She keeps her bitter thoughts to herself for the most part - after all they don't do much in a tense situation, unless the moment really calls for it because someone is being dumb. One can say that this female is rather no-nonsense, and she doesn't stand for stupidity or anyone's bullshit - no matter the rank, she calls it as she sees it - if you're being a bully, then you're damn well a bully. She doesn't appreciate recklessness or foolish behavior out of those who are supposed to be mature, and she doesn't appreciate adults acting like children either - it grinds her gears when adults bicker like little children over something simple. Also, if you're being a jerk and abusing your power, then she will call you out on it. Just because you're in a position of power doesn't mean she will gravel to you - one has to earn her respect and loyalty, and that's a tough thing to do. She doesn't appreciate anyone who is unnecessarily bossy or micromanaging, and she will tell you exactly how she feels about that. This female is rather spirited - she holds herself in high esteem, not in a arrogant way, but in a way of that she knows exactly who she is and what she stands for and she won't let anyone or anything change that. She is confident in herself and knows her self worth and won't let anyone tell her otherwise. She is rather opinionated and bold - not afraid to speak out against injustice or go against it, she knows when to stand her ground and when to find a better time to draw attention to a problem. While she does care deeply for those she knows, there are few that she would do anything for - and that means anything, even if it means breaking one of her own morals if she loves you that much. It's to be noted, she doesn't see the world in black and white - she understands the grey areas and isn't afraid to use it to her advantage, even if it means making enemies or others misunderstanding her intention. While this female is truly a loyal creature, she's only loyal as long as you are doing your job right - she's not one to sit by idly as you make her life miserable just for fun, if you can't get it right or are doing wrong then she will make you get it right. It's easy for her to make friends, she's charismatic and charming - easily able to attract others with her manners, but she's wary of trusting others and letting them into her heart. Why? Because she's trusted before and gotten burned . . . badly, and she isn't keen on letting that happen again - so if one wants to truly be her friend then they have to have the patience to consistently get her attention and stand by her side. It pays off in the long run, because you'll never find a friend as loyal as this female. Just know, that once she calls you her friend, you have someone that will stand with you until the end of time itself or until she takes her last breath ; just don't break that trust or you'll lose such special bond. It's not common for this female to get upset, however annoyed or miffed are part of her. Once can tell by her speech that she's beginning to become a bit annoyed by something, her words become more sharp and witty - while the sweet flowery tone of voice is their, their is more sarcasm and wit in her remarks to the object or person of her annoyance. She can be quite sassy when she wants to be, and she's quite mouthy when she's annoyed - she can and will argue with you up and down as well. Now when it comes to her real anger ; when she's mad, you better take cover - no one is able to escape her wrath. It's safe to say, when she's mad - she is on a warpath and anyone who tries to get in her way will be crushed and ground to dust ; the object of her fury will have to deal with her, she can and will threaten them - but also, she is not above getting physical either, if they're itching for a fight then she damn well will give them one. And she will not be gentle about it, she will go all out and there will be blood drawn - so it's safe to say, be careful when challenging her to a fight because even when she angry to challenge her makes her annoyed and she will prove herself to be superior. It is to note that she can be rather fierce ; a force of nature not to be trifled with, she is a fierce protector of those she knows and cares for - sometimes even willing to put her own life on the line for them. While she may have an easygoing spirit most of the time, you can see her fierce nature blaze within her eyes in moments and other times you can see it when she's using it for good. When it comes to her family ; you best believe that this female is highly protective of her own. From her brothers and sisters to her nieces and nephews - all of them fall under the umbrella of her love and her protection. There is no question that if you hurt anyone that is her family, you better believe that she will bring the pain to you - she doesn't tolerate anyone who will slander or harm her family members and if you thing of doing such a thing she will find a way to make misfortune come your way. Now while she is protective of her family, there is no one that she is more protective of than her children - especially her younger ones. She loves her children and she protects them with her life and all her souls ; after all that is a mother's sword duty to do so. She raises her children with love - yet, there will always be a firm hand if needed. She makes sure her children have manners, because she will not accept anything less than that - and they will be taught how to be respectful as well. She will not raise disrespectful hooligans ; and if her children are being naughty she knows just how to handle them. Even when her children are older they better show her some respect as their mother and better not think just because they're nearly grown it'll save them from a lecture about their deplorable behavior. While she gets that other mother's maybe worried about her children ; she doesn't appreciate mares taking it upon themselves trying to discipline or raise her children in any way., and she will let it be known. Unless you are her mother or father ; do not try and make "helpful" suggestions to her on how to raise her children. When it comes to romance, this female is a rather possessive when it comes to her lover ; she doesn't tolerate females trying to make a move on her partner and if he's encouraging them, he'd better run because he will receive a scolding too. She also doesn't like females making bodily contact with her mate because it means that female has gotten too comfortable. Of course, this doesn't apply to his family or friends (unless they begin looking suspicious) . She is a loving partner, doing her best to make them smile and make them happy - she loves being with them and learning things about them. She is rather softer and more affectionate with her partner than most ; and you can see her being more carefree and happier with the person that she loves. And it is well noted that this female likes the small things ; surprises, flowers, little spontaneous dates, & anything creative. As long as you know how to keep her happy, she will be a loving and happy partner. One thing to mention is : she doesn't tolerate cheaters or someone who will treat her like trash ; so if you switch your behavior towards her, then she's switching hers towards you. Appearance: words words words words Personality: When meeting this young male, you can sense a rather regal and dignified aura surrounding him - one can tell from the way he carries himself that he thinks highly of himself. His posture is never lacking and he always hold his head high, even in the face of danger. This can lead to one thinking he is arrogant - and my, he can be a bit arrogant at times. This young male doesn't like to be wrong, and he can and will go out of his way to prove that he is right ( even to his detriment). He is young and a bit reckless, and wants to be right about most things - but, that doesn't mean he doesn't know when to bow out and be humble, he isn't above learning a valuable lesson ; when needed. His demeanor is a bit haughty, with him seeking attention from those higher up and doing what he can to show and prove his intelligence and worth - his eyes always seemed to be narrowed in disdain or contempt of even a perpetual scowl. One can note, that while he does like to brag and boost his own ego at times - as much as most won't like to admit it - he can back up his claims with action. His pride wouldn't allow him to speak oh so boldly and not be able to keep his word. One can say that this young creature is rather industrious - he is rarely seen lazing about camp. Much to others surprise, one can find him doing small mundane tasks for those who can't do it for themselves or even offering to entertain pups. He is surprising patient and gentle with them - he's much more calmer with foals than peers his own age. But don't be mistaken, though he is one to like to work - it doesn't mean he wants to do it all the time, he can and will complain if it's cutting into his rest. It's no secret that when he has down time that he enjoys soaking up the sun while taking a peaceful nap ; either that, or he's taking some scenic walk around the territory because he loves to look at the landscape and appreciate it. And just because you can make him do a task, doesn't mean he will do it - he isn't a pushover and he won't be tricked into doing someone else's work. And for one thing, he despises someone lazy and one who would not do their tasks just because they know someone else will handle it. It can be said that this young creature has a certain confidence in himself as well. He is a very well-spoken young male and he has manners gang have been drilled into him since youth. When he does speak, his words are thought out in a methodical manner - even when he's seeming "bragging" or "gloating" even his "whining" is thought out. He says what others want to hear at times, and he never speaks without a purpose. He is a very keen observer and listener - soaking in information even if it doesn't seem like he's paying attention, he is. While he can gather information when he's in a crowd - it's to be noted that he can slip into the background as well. Now his words can vary, he can be rather polished and flattering when speaking - knowing how to charm one with his words. Always being respectful to those who hold higher rank and more experience than him. But he can also be rather sarcastic and snarky as well, just because he prefers being polite doesn't mean he can't have a bit of an attitude at times. This young male is rather good at controlling and keeping his emotions under wraps - one can rarely tell if he is upset. Aside from him being slightly passive-aggressive in his behavior, he will also put more sarcasm and wit into his words. However, those close to him know that his true anger is something that one doesn't wish to see nor experience. It's also noted he's more likely to use his more snarky language when he's upset or having a mood. Most notice when he's sad or he's in deep thought as he's more quiet and resigned - at times he can be rather melancholy when the situation calls for it. He can be rather stoic at times - bottling up and keeping his emotions to himself, it isn't healthy but he finds it hard to open up and trust others. It's possibly why he has so few friends. He does have a mask that wears and it takes a lot to get it undone. However, those close to him will tell you that those who do find a way in his heart will have his protection and love. One would say that this young male is a suck up or people pleaser. And he would vehemently disagree with that statement while being upset that one would even call him that. It's due to not receiving proper acknowledgment that he craves recognition but that too he would deny. While he may try and please others, that doesn't mean he will change himself for them. He is confident in who he is and he knows he's flaws and well, he's working on that part about him. Overall, one can say he's a rather determined and spirited young male - one with passion and who can care deeply for others (though he won't admit that either - it's a weakness, being attached to others gets you hurt.) He's still young and has much to learn, but one things for sure - he's a quick study and he will adapt to anything you throw at him. Olma is a Norwegian Fjord horse with a brunblakk coat; her fur a sandy color, darkening into a more reddish hue by her head, neck, and leg joints. Her undercoat is pale, an off-white in coloration. This white is seen on her snout, chest, belly, and legs. Her nose is tipped in a charcoal color, and her forelegs joints have a chocolatey color to them that fades out to red then cream. She has the iconic charcoal dorsal stripe, as well as ears that are also tipped in charcoal. She can best be compared to the noble takhi with this coat and appearance. The mare has a long mane, a creamy white in coloration with a more charcoal coloration to the center line of the hair the breed is most renounced for. Her tail is also long, starting off as a creamy white and ending in charcoal. Her hooves are a mute greyish brown color, and has minimal feathering in the back that is the same off-white color as her undercoat. Her eyes are a dark brown, appearing black from afar but when the light hits them just right they have an ethereal glow to them like any other. Olma stands at a solid 14 HH tall (4'8" by the shoulders), and weighs a hefty 1.100 lbs. While she is a small breed, she is a draught horse and is very strong. On the mention of draught, she is from a light draught breed and so is not only strong but bred to be agile. Her kind was made for the mountainous regions of Norway, which helps a lot when it comes to any kind of rugged terrain she may come across in her habitat. She has some nicks and marks on her body, typical injuries one expects to receive from predators or other horses. On her left side below her wither is a complete bite mark, though old, that Olma received from a predator. On her right almost halfway down her back near her spine are two nicks she received from a lone stallion who attempted to make advances towards her and she turned down (she kicked ass don't worry). She has another few scattered nicks on her flank she also received from horse fights. Personality: Ah, Olma, a strong hearted and minded mare. Olma has nothing more than her foal's best interests in her mind. She cares deeply for Gyllir, and will do anything and everything to keep him safe and out of harms way- and she has the scars to prove it. She tends to be lenient with Gyllir, however will make sure her "house" rules are understood and that he is always within 10 feet of her. The protective mother instinct is strong in her, though so is the nurturing kind. Olma is gentle with her foal, making sure to explain things to him rather than getting angry and huffing and puffing about it. She follows gentle parenting, and always gives him attention when he asks for it. She likes his rambling, though sometimes she can't always keep up with his bursts of energy since she gets tired after a while. She doesn't sleep much since she needs to watch over him, and make sure her baby is safe above all else. The downside of being a lone mare and single mother. Olma is wary of stallions, especially at this time, and will make sure they remain at least 50 feet away from her and her foal at all times. The further the better. She won't hesitate to buck, bite, or stomp another horse if it means defending her family. She might be small, but she has resilience and will make sure her patience is not tested. Outside of her protective nature and her hostility towards stallions, Olma can be a pleasure to be around. She isn't very talkative, the opposite of her foal, he takes from his father it seems, so she tends to make a better listener. This doesn't mean she won't hold conversation, Olma will happily do so when it comes to that, she just isn't one to always initiate. She's headstrong with her opinions, hard to sway unless you have good reason. Because of this she is labeled as stubborn, and usually in a negative light. Yeah, she is, but that's how she is. She's also blunt, not a fan of sugarcoating unless it's for the sake of the youth. This is often taken as rude, but she has no intention to be rude most of the time when she is being blunt. She just prefers to lay it all out, no fluff or funny business attached. When it comes to attachments, Olma can grow fairly attached to others. But this only happens if she trusts the other horse. Trust is important to Olma, and if you break her trust you won't be able to earn it back as easily as you did before- and that's saying something because it's already hard earning it as is without making it harder on yourself. When I say this mare gets attached, I don't mean she becomes helpless and reliant. Not at all. Olma is independent, has been for months now, but with independence comes loneliness. Company is something she would like, more than just her foal. For Olma it's hard to find a horse who will keep her trust, so if she finds one she gets attached and wants them around. Her former mate was like that, however he passed months ago and she's yearned for him or at the very least someone, doesn't matter who, that can be like him. Someone to keep her company. Someone to be good friend with her baby Gyllir. Gyllir is a gulblakk Fjord, being a pale off-white coloration that darkens to a creamy greyish-gold champagne at his neck, head, and legs. Much like his mom he has a pale off-white on his snout, his nose tipped in a faded charcoal. His mane is a frosty white, containing faded charcoal roots. His mane is very short, and sticks upright until it starts to grow in. His tail is the same frosty white, also tipped in faded charcoal. Much like his mane, it too is fairly short and doesn't reach past his knee. The hair itself is soft, sticks out, and looks frizzy at times, giving him a cartoonish or toy-like look. His hooves are a greyish-brown much like his mom's, and have yet to grow any feathering. Like all foals, Gyllir has a bit of a dish that he's growing into and has gangly legs that he still occasionally stumbles around with. His eyes are big, a similar dark brown to his mom that too look black from afar. They hold a world full of curiosity in them, always big, opened wide, ready to take in the world around him. He's about half his mom's height by the withers, so around 7 HH tall, and is a decent 150 as of now. Personality: Gyllir is a silly colt, full of life and curiosity. He's incredibly friendly, however often gets overwhelmed and nervous when he experiences too much stimuli and shies away behind the safety of his mother. When he overcomes these intense emotions, he is hard to keep still. He just has to trot around, canter, and sometimes gallop with glee. It's even hard to keep him quiet, the foal nickering on about whatever crosses his mind. He changes topics as quickly as he introduces them, generally being a confusing mess at times when he does ramble on. Though, Gyllir doesn't have any current friends to ramble to so he settles for his mom. For a foal of his age, this little guy doesn't seem to hold any ambitions that herd born foals may have. He doesn't know of the herd, of hierarchal systems, or anything of the sort. He is, in a way, free from any societal topics. His only concern is hanging with his mom, exploring, and wanting to make new friends. It's all simple, and quite problem-free, though he does get lonely at times. Sometimes he wonders why there aren't other horses around, but the thought can only last so long before it gets replaced with something else. Sometimes Gyllir has what Olma refers to as "blanks," short periods of time where he stops whatever he's doing and is still and quiet. It's like a glitch, or a pause, and after a few seconds he is back at it again. In people terms, he is the horse equivalent of an orange cat. Orange cat behavior, except its gulblakk fjord behavior. Lycus is a rather stunning stallion, though he isn't the type to flash it around or flaunt it to others. He has a good, solid build, one that is tall, muscular, and overall well balanced in figure. Standing at 16.3 hh, Lycus is certainly not the tallest stallion there is, but it's still an impressive and capable height, allowing him to hold his own in fights where he might be the smaller stallion. Typically in these situations his experience softens the disadvantage he might have for being smaller.
The stallion has a painted coat, it's color difficult to name without taking a closer look. Many would incorrectly call him a brown, or even bay, paint, maybe even a dark grey paint. However, neither of these would be correct. Instead, Lycus is a grullo paint stallion. His hooved are white as well, and his mane and tail match this, appearing white, though they tend to transition to a more blonde color at the ends, but that's just because he's a wild horse and a little unkept. Aside from his coloration, Lycus tends to stand out because of the bright, ice blue colored eyes he has lying within the greyish backdrop of his face.
