Probably the Sovereign, but she can’t realistically see that happening. Plus she’s got training to get through first. Ugh.
Thoughts On The Other Clans:
Viri likes to be judgemental, and so she will judge.
Starting with the Myrleon, the most foolish of fools. They are led by the biggest fool of them all, the Myrleon King. Based on her limited knowledge (Vi tends to eavesdrop on her parents) she has determined that this particular group of people are doomed. Secretly though, she has a lot of sympathy for those who are unhappy with the life they have been dealt. And the King who has inadvertently put his kingdom in danger must indeed be an unhappy one. It is a shame how they all appeared to get themselves into danger though, causing this whole calamity.
As for the Solean, Vivi does have a little more sympathy. While she does find them a bit peculiar due to their extravagant colours, she does believe they will adapt better to life down in the Abyssal plain. However, she has judged them as somewhat cowardly, leaving their homes instead of defending them until the end as a Kothes would do. Still, a home is not as important as a community (or family, Clan), and she somewhat respects their own decision to displace themselves in order to escape the humans. Sometimes it is better to not get caught and plan a solution for another day. That is if they are to leave at some point. She does not appreciate being confined to the trench for the most part due to their and the Myrleon’s presence.
Appearance:
The brightest colour to Viridian’s appearance are her watercolour green-blue eyes. The colour she is named after, they are surrounded by the darker void-like black of her sclera. Bright against her face, her long eyelashes carefully frame them and slightly lim the luminous hue. Her eyes are also angular, sharp and upturned slightly in an almond-like shape.
Her facial features are also sharp and harsh, such as her cheekbones, nails, pointed ears and nose. She has very few soft features, the only ones being her bow-shaped, reddish lips against her purple-smokey grey skintone. She channels all her emotion through her mouth, with nothing conveyed by the movement of her impassive eyes or her sharp eyebrows. Her lips however easily slip into a wide smile, displaying her sharp pearly white teeth and her spirit being clearly displayed across her face. This is the place to judge her current state, and even the slightest twinge can indicate her annoyance or suppressed giggle.
For the most part Viridian has a petite body built for squeezing through narrow spaces and sneaking into cracks and crevices. She often does, subtly listening in to whatever she can in order to stay informed, or keeping to herself in a cosy corner to entertain herself. For her, safety comes from the feeling of cool stone against her shoulders and the slight pressure of water as she swims further into the depths. That said, her shoulders are not narrow and are instead widely set. She’s very adept at flexibly twisting them so she can slide through the crevices, though this will become harder as she continues to grow and build muscle.
As of now, her physical skills seem to lie in small spurts of strength and already she has begun to amass some discreet muscle but of course she has far yet to grow. Her powers in water control are also on track to become considerably strong. Her tail however is also still not fully developed, reaching the length of around 5ft. It shimmers a purple-black with the dorsal fin jaggedy and haphazardly in the middle-back of her tail. The fluke is wide and powerful, mostly spiked across the bottom and connected by thick scale-plated membrane. The smokey-black scales also scatter across her back, arms and shoulders until they reach the top of the tail. Similarly, her bioluminescent splotches are mottled across these areas and shine a dark violet – although for safety and a little bit of sneakiness, she tends to cover these.
Meanwhile, her clothing choices are reasonably simplistic. She isn’t a massive one for excessive styling, but finds no fault in trying new things every once in a while. She wears short tops that don’t cover the gills by her ribs, but that’s all the specifics. Her hair is her actual centrepiece, although recently she has cut it to just below her chin. She likes to braid sections, and to attempt to wear jewellery like her mother but Viri often removes it after a short while as she finds some of them distracting and irritating. A similar purple-black to her tail, her hair is slightly lighter and remains mostly tamed the ocean. She slightly regrets this cut, and cannot wait for her hair to grow out into its former semi-wavy state.
Personality:
Viridian gives away no secrets in her melancholy expression, quietly going about her own business. She is very unlikely to interact with those she does not know well (of free choice at least), and much prefers time by herself or with close friends & family. Visibly self contained, Vi likes to keep to small nooks with her chin resting coldly on her chin. Her expression isn’t always unfriendly, but she must actively twist her lips into a brightening grin or smile in order to show some kind of positive emotion. Her eyes will always appear an emotionally blunt or dull window, despite its green hue. They are not the window to her soul – one would have much better luck looking towards her lips for some clear indication of her current mood.
That said, she is not always a stone cold emotionless void. Viri gets along well with certain people, breaking free from some sort of shell in order to do something helpful for someone else. She is not particularly helpful though – lacking in both patience and good communication skills, but her knowledge is useful to the right kind of people. She can learn quickly herself, taking note of anything one may do or say in case it comes in useful later. She is a diligent assistant, though has a slight tendency to deviate from the task set of it does not appeal to her, in order to attempt something different, or the same task in her own way. Very independently minded, Viridian can appear self absorbed but this is not generally the case. She is more often caught in others’ shared thoughts than her own.
Viridian has a keen eye for details, absorbing information faster than a seasponge and tucking it safely away in her memory. She is much like a vault, hiding all sorts of useful and obscure pieces of information just out of sight, ready to be presented at any time. Plus she absolutely will, bringing up the smallest things one may have said just to win an argument. She is brilliantly intelligent for her age too, knowledgeable about a range of relevant topics. Just don’t make her uncomfortable by asking for some sort of presentation; Vi will happily share small titbits of information here and there of her own free will. But she also hates talking excessively and will clumsily slip over her facts until everything becomes a mess of quizzed. She does not cope well with pressure.
She has a bit of a revengeful streak too, and will happily scheme against anyone who has embarrassed or wronged her whether purposeful or not. It is not often someone will get under her skin or on her wrong side, but on the occasion it is on purpose – Viri will use all she can against them. She certainly has her chaotic moments, both playfully and slightly more sinister. Generally though, she’s a pacifist, though not above causing others some headaches if she believes they deserve it. When it comes to real issues, she privately does not believe these can be solved with just weaponry and threats. Diplomacy and strategic planning and what she believes are the key to creating advantages that put her Clan back into safety. Realistically, she does not believe removing the ‘threats’ of their Myrleon/Solean cousins will solve the human issue. It appears to be more complex than that. Although she is aware she does not know the full story, just sections from eavesdropping as often as she does.
Though quiet, Viri is not unconfident and is very self assured. If fact she has a slight tendency to be overconfident around those she trusts, getting up to some slight mischief and causing them a bit of ‘innocent’ chaos. She is very committed to her own beliefs and sticks to them stubbornly, but isn’t above adapting them as new situations present themselves. She also has a great sense of humour, and her brittle exterior can be easily broken by a wiry grin brought out by one of her siblings.
