|| Personality || Quesnel is a gentle and soft-spoken individual, that tends to stay to himself and tenses up around strangers. He is easily flustered, and will immediately stop talking if in an uncomfortable environment or situation. He has been known to attempt to hide behind objects or even walk out of the room. He is intelligent, even if he doesn't show it all the time, and can remember even the smallest of things with little to no effort. He's a determined sort, and despite his rather quiet nature, when he puts his mind to something, he won't stop until it's done. However, he does also tend to be a bit nervous and timid about some things, and while taking a while to make a decision, before actually acting on it. He enjoys the company of close companions, as everyone does, and will do everything in his power to keep them safe, even at the risk of his health, whether it be mental, physical, or emotional. This particular tidbit of his personality is his greatest weakness; sometimes, he forgets to take care of himself when he's busy taking care of others. Looming at a staggering seven-foot-ten, he has a rather muscular frame that can come across as extremely intimidating to most. His dark almond skin is mottled with lighter splotches, almost cream. These spots are most prevalent around his lips, eyes, ears, and on the back and palms of his hands. As mentioned before, his body is rather large but has a certain softness to it that gives him the impression of a pillow, especially with the soft clothes he's usually seen in. His hands are rough and calloused, with several scars atop the vitiligo spots from burns and, strangely, teeth marks. The right side of his face also has these scars, although, there are significantly more claw marks than teeth prints. His face is oval, with full cheeks and a strong jawline. His nose is rather large and is hooked slightly. Chocolate eyes grace his handsome face, tilted upward slightly, and framed by soft lashes. Sitting atop them are thick eyebrows that are almost always furrowed in worry. Lines crease underneath his eyes and cheeks, marking his constantly fussing over small things. His hair, naturally long and ratty, is a sort of dark brown, with tints of red just beneath. When down, it reaches just below his shoulders, and always seems to hang loosely in his face. However, when he feels comfortable, he'll tie it back in a low ponytail. Even more rarely, when alone, he'll occasionally braid back, looping beads through it. He wears mainly loose, oversized clothing that masks his large frame. Dark colors are his absolute favorite. He switches between two different outfits, the first consisting of a large, black, puffy jacket with tan faux fur collar atop a murky green long-sleeved shirt, navy blue denim jeans, and black boots that are scuffed and well-worn. His other favorite outfit is primarily for when he's in a comfortable environment; a soft goat-fur sweater dyed dark brown with darker brown threads, black denim pants (that are significantly tighter on his legs), and comfortable white tennis shoes. 〖 ✧ 〗 || Familiar || Cerise is a hulking female grizzly bear, with bright green eyes that shine with a kind light. Her shaggy dark brown fur is surprisingly soft, and, like her owner, has an undertone of red. She is an older individual, about fifteen years old (seven and a half in human years). She's the cuddly type who will take any and every opportunity she has to tackle-hug Quesnel to the ground. However, she's also extremely protective, and will often growl if anyone gets too close to Quesnel unless he gives the okay. She's oddly playful and gentle and is very aware of her overwhelming strength and wicked-sharp claws and teeth. She has an incredible nose, a fantastic sense of direction, and a vast knowledge of forest life. || Broom || Candide is Quesnel's chosen broom, and their name means. They use the pronouns they/them. Candide means "white", and it is very fitting for this particular broom, as the handle is carved from White Aspen wood, and is a pale creamish-white, mottled with contrasting black here and there. It's sanded down so much that the handle is almost soft to the touch. To add an extra layer of softness, a thin bit of tan leather is attached to the middle. Thick boar-bristles grace the end and are very pointy and it's very uncomfortable when poked by them. Strange carvings mark all along with the handle, curving and spiraling out in graceful patterns. These markings are runes created by Quesnel. No one knows what they do, but some have speculated that they connect Quesnel and Candide's mental states, so that they may communicate simply by thinking. Candide is, like Quesnel, very standoffish, and prefers to be by themself. However, they always seem to be there whenever Quesnel needs them to be, even when he doesn't vocally call for them. They are a very helpful and swift broom, however, Candide was not created to be flown on, so their flight speed/hovering ability is extremely limited. || Family || Quesnel never knew his father. His mother, however, was his best friend. Her name was Madeline, and she raised him to be kind, polite, but strong. They lived together for eighteen years on their farm, caring for their crops, livestock, and selling the best of their products for a meager amount. Despite all of this, they were happy. Quesnel spent hours chopping wood for the fire, and that's how he became so, well, muscular. As he grew older, he realized that by staying home, he couldn't provide properly for his mother. So, he set off for the city, bringing with him rare herbs he had found in the forest near his home. He spent years trying to perfect his potions, and yet, he still can't quite get them right.
