Kai is the epitome of a girl from the shadows and she shows it strongly in her appearance. She has long, flowy black hair that looks as if it were made of the essence of night. It tumbles over her shoulders and down her back, swirling around her body when she moves. Her shorter, chin length, bangs frame her face perfectly, often falling into her eyes. Almond shaped and long flashes, her eyes are a piercing ice blue, with a ring of cerulean around the outer edge. Her slender, sloping nose is dotted with freckles, as are the areas just below her eyes. In right ear, she has three earrings; a long golden snake, a diamond stud, and a ruby stud. Her left ear has a matching golden viper, along with a tiny silver ring in the upper cartilage. Kai prefers to wear open shirts, as she feels it gives her more freedom to move, and more connection to her magic. Her typical top consists of a rather revealing red leather shirt, with a tight conformation to her body. It has a tall collar, coming up around the back of her neck. She loathes skirts, instead wearing a pair of black leather hunting breeches, with a matching pair of black hunting boots. Kai is a confusing person, to say the least. Her sanity is.... well....... less than questionable, she is just good at hiding it. Nightmares take over the small bit of sleep she gets, and her waking hours are usually consumed with her trying to ignore the monsters we call memories lurking in the corners of her eyes. Voices of the demons she faces whisper in her ears, however, Kai doesn't fear what she has dealt with before, having dealt with many of her usual companions since she was 5 years old, she has become quite good at tuning them out, but sometimes someone new creeps into her brain and she loses her control. Kai suffers from insomnia, which explains why she can be found awake all day and throughout most the night, and is also manic depressive, often having violent mood swings. She also suffers from depression and PTSD. Kai is a callused girl. She can often be cold and without mercy, killing without a second thought, and her intellect only makes it worse. She is a skilled fighter and a trained killer. She has done terrible things without remorse, and she would do them all again. She can also be something of a bitch, finding joy in taunting and irritating others. While she is a friend that would always be there for you to lean on, she tends to treat her friends and enemies with the same hostility, just more jokingly with one than the other. Kai is a good friend to a select few, and can often give good advice and be understanding. However, it takes a little bit of work for her to actually trust you and consider you a friend. She isn't too picky on the kind of person she would befriend, whether its someone who she can fight beside, or someone she can learn with, some who she defends or someone that pushes her harder than she pushes herself, on the rare occasion, she might befriend someone who would be considered "girly". As long as they don't hurt her, she will keep them around, and while she may not be the best at showing affection, she does have her moments. Kai can also be something of a flirt. You might not even notice it, she can be both subtle and blunt. Though she doesn't really have a type, she leans towards those who are a challenge to her, someone who she can race and fight with, and those who are "fit". Despite all of this though, she is rather introverted. Sure she can be social if she has nothing else better to do, but she loves solitude. She is perfectly fine with spending her time alone in her home, her hands hitting the tough leather of a punching bag or her eyes devouring the words on a book. She is the kind of girl that will show up at a club just to sit at the bar and drink and dance by herself even though she could be talking to the people around her. And she can do it while having fun. Kai is cunning as well. A master at acting, she knows just how to deceive others into giving her what she wants, or just simply to mess with them. It's often difficult for those around her to tell just which version is actually her, especially when her mask keeps changing. Strength is something that has always been apart of her life. Emotionally, physically, even mentally surprisingly. She has blamed weakness for many things since she was 5 years old. She believes that if she can use knowledge to diminish fear, then she will be freed of weakness, but some fears cannot be diminished, some weaknesses cannot be dismissed. Appearances have never really bothered Kai. Of course, she always made sure she didn't look like shit, but she didn't wear makeup or try to fit into a tight corset. She didn't care what others thought about her at the end of the day, as long as she liked who she was. Kai is confident in herself, not to the point of cockiness, but self-love and acceptance. She understands and accepts the bad parts of her, and uses her good parts to keep going, loving all of herself. She knows she is beautiful, but understands it is a cold, hard beauty. She knows she isn't always the easiest to understand as a person and accepts that she rather keep her identity a secret. Kai also is an adrenaline junkie. She loves to put herself in danger just got the rush, get into a fight because she finds it fun. Cause trouble because she enjoys doing so. Kai also loves alcohol and its usually impossible to know if she is sober not, since she acts almost exactly the same in both states. The only indication is whether she has a drink in her hand or not, and even then, not always a reliable source. Kai can also be jealous sometimes, but not usually of a person, but rather an experience, a relationship, things she missed out on. A mother loving her child, a father defending his daughter, a brother teasing his sister, a loving boyfriend kissing his lover. A little girl holding a toy instead of a sword, an innocent child instead of a soldier. A happy family. She is also naturally curious, and rather observant. She can often be found hiding in plain sight to avoid suspicion, while discretely taking in everything around her. Kai isn't completely horrible though. She has a soft spot for Kai and pets, and will often defend those who won't defend themselves, and while she is a complete jerk most the time, she never fights someone who won't fight back. Kai is many things, and somehow manages to be all of it at the same time. She is still a girl with secrets though, she just keeps them hidden away from those who look.

Roleplay Example:
The silence of the town was unnerving, making the hair on the back of Kaias neck stand on end. Axels hackles rose, but he stayed quiet, sniffing the air nervously. A lone rabbit hopped out from under an overturned doghouse, eyes wide with fear and nose twitching. Kaia considered sending Axel after it, it was big enough to make a good lunch, but before she could a blood curdling snarl ripped through the air. A boy, no older than eighteen, limped out of a bank, one foot dragging behind him. His face was haggard, part of his cheek missing. His hair was missing large chunks, but perhaps the most terrifying thing about him was the blood that coated his hands. "Shit," Kaia muttered, cocking her gun. Axel moved protectivly in front of his master, teeth bared. The zombie hadnt noticed them yet, its dull gaze still on the rabbit. The small creature had frozen in terror, staring blankly at the approaching zombie. Moving behind a large blue Jeep, Kaia took a deep breath. She didnt know if this was the only one or not, but they had to be careful. No running in guns blazing when there could be ten more zombies hidden away somewhere. "There goes our meal." Axel huffed his agreement, whining as the zombie boy lurched closer. A momentary distraction, Kaia heard the faint call of a bird, presumably a raven or crow, from outside the town. She didnt have much time to consider this though. Four more zombies came wandering out from the bank, intent on a feed. One of them, a black haired women with one arm missing, seemed to spot something behind the Jeep, because she groaned loudly and jerked towards it. Muttering nurses under her breath, Kaia stood. Nowhere to hide anymore. The zombie woman screeched, alerting the other four to juicier meal than a little bunny could provide. Raising her gun, Kaia fired of a shot into the chest cavity of the woman. The zombie crashed to the ground, but the others moved faster, closing in around Kaia and Axel. Axel jumped for one, grabbing its leg and ripping it off with a violent tearing noise. The zombie groaned, looking down as if confused. No pain registered with these creatures. Three more bangs echoed in the empty air as Kaia fired at the others. One fell, but the final two shots merely went right through various extremities. The gun clicked as she tried to shoot again, but nothing happened. "Shit, out of bullets."
Other: Kai has two pets for which she cares, a black fox and a panther. Her fox has golden eyes and a fluffy white underbelly. His name is Valient. Her panther, a handsome brawny creature, is named Caligo.
