StoneStripe|Stone|Female| 3 Stone didn't answer back at Shadow's words right away. His words he spoke had caused her to think more about her past and current choices. She had left home out of hope and lounging to do or have something new. To be away from the chilling and sometimes deadly winter nights and warmless summer days. She shivered slightly remembering a particularly cold night. . She remebered desperately trying to disappear within her mother's fur, remembering how as a pup it had been even worse. The wind howled outside the den drowning out the voices of mother wolves trying to sooth the young. Stone had felt as if she'd never feel warmth again despite her mother's promises she would. The night had been the worst of Stone's so far, especially when the pack awoken to two fallen pups. . " I don't know anything I'd want to pursue if it doesn't work out." She finally said. " I haven't ever thought of it. All I've thought is either I find a place or my life is as good as over." She said her eyes slightly closing. " But... But a friend or new pack sounds nice. Someone to travel with as well." Stone finished, before her breathing slowed and her eyes closed fully as she drifted off to sleep. |

Shadow of the Sun | Shadow | Male | 5 Shadow lifted his head from his paws as his ears swivelled slightly, his head craning back as he turned to gaze at Stone, a bit confused by her silence. He felt his muscles relax as he realised she had merely fallen asleep, the sun that had been filtering through the tree tops now dwindling to brilliant swirls of dark blue, purples and pinks as small silver stars began to line the sky above. ° Shadow let a gentle breeze ruffle his fur slightly as his nose breathed in the countless scents that the wind carried, of plants, the earth, prey.. With a final whiff, Shadow rose to his paws, shaking out his pelt all over as a small cloud of dust left the fur on his belly and legs. ° He silently turned as he padded a little more inside the den, curling up next to the wall away from Stone as he cast one more tired look to the den entrance, a long exhausted yawn leaving his jaws as it eased into a small whine at the end. He lay his head back down as his gaze settled on the silhouette of Stone as she slept, his eyes drifting shut as he began to fall asleep too. "night.. stone.." He mumbled almost entirely to himself before he drifted away. |

StoneStripe|Stone| Female| 3 Stone slept peacefully for the first time since her journey began. Her dreams no longer nightmares about the things that could go wrong or how much time she wasted. Instead they for once full of the promise of a home, a life again. . Stone awoke a little before dawn about the time she always did. Casting a glance over at Shadow, she realized he had gone to sleep as well. She padded quietly out of the den doing her best to try and not wake him. When she reached outside the entrance for a moment she sat. Looking up she watched as the stars grew less as the dawn light filled the sky. . With new energy within her, Stone stood back up and stretched before heading back into the forest. - Maybe I can find a rabbit or two. Or even a fawn.- Stone thought to herself. She paused at a small puddle to drink, before carrying on. Her ears picking every sound up in hope of prey, her nose taking in every scent. . Soon enough she came across a small rabbit. It wasn't much but food was food and she'd take what she could get. Stone crouched low, her belly fur grazing the coldish forest floor. After a few steps she lept, landing right into the rabbit with a pleased bark. Her teeth closed around it's neck and she shook her head side to side until the rabbit fell limp. She dropped it as suddenly a even smaller rabbit shot out of the bushes, and gave chase. . Stone's paws pounded the ground as she chased the young rabbit and her fur fluffed out a little. She kept her gaze intently on it and made sure to not lose sight. Before the rabbit knew what was happening she had it in her teeth and soon it was lifeless. Panting breathless after the case, she headed back. Picking the first rabbit up alongside the second. . She didn't enter the den, instead sat a little away from it. Dropping the rabbits onto the ground before sitting, her mind began to question. Should she share with Shadow if he awoke?Or claim she caught it and eat it all? Would that be selfish? She stared down at the food, her eyes now narrowed as she thought. |

Shadow of the Sun | Shadow| Male | 5 Abyss was all Shadow could see, all he could feel as he slept dreamlessly. He had long since lost count of the last time he could recall having a dream, whether it were pleasant or otherwise. The black surrounding him was calming as he surrendered himself to it, allowing it to carry him until the sun began to paint the skies, the songs of the forests birds beginning to drift along the air as Shadow gave a small grunt, his tongue darting from his mouth as he licked his dry nose. ° His eyes squinted open as he found himself comfortably laying on his side, the fur on the right side of his face pressed completely flat against his cheek, giving his face a wonky look. He let out a long yawn that transitioned into a well deserved stretch, his eyes opening a bit more as he finally decided to sit up. ° His eyes watered a little at the harsh brightness of the rising sun, the trees doing the most in blotting it's rays out of view. His paws tingled a little as he began to rise to his paws, a small layer of dust hanging onto his coat as he gave his body a light shake over. ° He glanced over at where Stone had fallen asleep, taking note of the small dip where she had been. His nose twitched as he picked up her scent close by, mixed with the smells of the mountains, the forest and.. blood? ° Shadows mouth watered a bit at the thought of food but he quickly pushed those thoughts aside as he quietly made his way out of the den, his back fur brushing along the mouth of the den as his hulking image emerged from the dark hole. His eyes quickly found her sitting nearby, triumphant with two rabbits laying at her paws. ° Shadow ignored his urges as he pressed to focus on the earthy scent she carried, padding over to her as he dipped his head slightly, attempting to appear a little smaller. "Morning Stone, seems you've had a bit of fun without me already." Shadow grumbled with a hint of amusement, his tail giving the faintest of happy wags as he settled near her, still keeping some distance between them. ° The last thing he wanted was for her to think he was about to steal her food, or worse. He wasn't a monster, he had standards afterall. |

StoneStripe |Stone |Female|3 Stone watched Shadow emerge from the den not long after she came back. As he walked over Stone relaxed a little and stopped staring at the rabbits. Instead she listened as he greeted and watched as he sat some length away. . " Good morning, Shadow. And well I guess not all of us can sleep the morning away, not implying you were of course." Stone said with a hint of cheeriness in her voice. She looked back down to the rabbits at her paws then back at Shadow. With a paw, she pushed one towards him but not all the way. Just enough he could garb it if he want. . "Your welcome to share of course. If not perfectly fine, more for me then" She said before starting to eat her own. If Shadow declined she wouldn't let prey go to waste. As the rabbit's still slightly warm blood touched her mouth she silently thanked it for its life. She ate rather slowly, wanting to make it last longer. |

Shadow of the Sun | Shadow | Male | 5 "Ah, thank you. But surely you've noticed.." He said thankfully yet slightly guiltily, a look with a hint of shame as he beckoned to himself, the rabbit appearing like nothing more than a crumb compared to the rest of his hulking body. ° "Perhaps it'd be best for you to have them both. I'm sure I can find something to sustain myself with." Shadow grinned as he pawed the rabbit back to Stones paws, leaving it in front of her to eat. ° Shadow raised his face towards the tree tops as he took in a deep breath of the morning air, his eyes flickering shut as he listened to the sounds around them. ° "I will wait for a bit before I head off. There was a warren of rabbits down the hill to the east, but I caught whiff of a herd of deer passing by the south. You're more than welcome to join me if you'd like." Shadow said as he settled to lay down on the ground by the mouth of the den, small rays of sun dotting his pelt like shiny Dalmatian spots. |

StoneStripe | Stone | Female | 3 " Alrighty then." Stone gave a small shrug at Shadow's words, and understand why he didn't want to. She quickly finished the first rabbit and then devoured the second. She then cleaned the blood off her muzzle before lying down. Lying her head on her paws she fixed her gaze on the forest. . " Sure I'll join you, my legs can do with more stretching. Despite the fact I traveled forever I can never seem to get bored of running." Stone said. She looked at Shadow for a moment and watched as the sun changed his pelt before looking away. She returned her gaze to the forest, wondering if it was really a bad place under the fairly fine morning. . She didn't really move, she enjoyed the wind slightly ruffling her fur and the sun warming her pelt. She didn't mind the fact her stomach and paws where probably dirty now. She was looking forward to hunting with Shadow, wondering if he was good at it. She realized how comfortable she already was around him, despite knowing him for only a day. But then again, it was normal for her to quickly trust someone. . - But that's a bad trait to have.- She thought, remembering times it had cost her. Betrayal was a thing Stone knew all to well thanks to her journey. But she still didn't know why she couldn't help but trust Shadow. |

Shadow of the Sun | Shadow | Male | 5 Shadows ear gave a soft flick as he set his gaze into the ever expanding forest, trees lining as far as his amber gaze could reach as he opened his senses, taking a moment to feel at one with the world around him. His nose gave small twitches as he sniffed the scents carrying on the breeze, his fur warming the skin on his body as it absorbed some of the sun's light as it filtered through the tree leaves. ° With a small grunt, he lifted himself to his paws again, a soft shake running along his spine as his fur let go of its extra coating of dust and pebbles, a small dust cloud settling down to the ground as he began padding forward. "Alright. Let's head off. If we do well early, perhaps the rest of the day can be spent relaxing." He spoke through a slight smile, enjoying even just the idea of getting to lounge about in the sun later, on a full stomach at that, sounded all the more appealing to him. Eagerly, his tail wagged as he cast a glance back, making sure Stone was following before he headed further into the forest to track down some animals of prey for them to hunt. |

StoneStripe | Stone | Female | 3 Stone took a moment to get to her paws as she had started to drift off under the warm sun. Once standing she shook out her own fur before following Shadow. She caught up and walked beside him, a little bit behind though. She listened for any sounds and remained ready for any scents. . " Relaxing, that sounds even nicer then it usually does." She commented before scanning the forest. She knew Shadow would know the forest way better then her, so she was really only looking for any possible large prey having strayed or such. Her pawpads warmed themselves on the forest ground as they walked and the sun warmed her fur, causing it to go slightly golden. . " Is there any prey problems here at any time?" She asked after a moment. So far it hadn't been to bad as she had seen, but she knew she shouldn't assume all was good just yet. |
