"You have to have a nice attitude towards everyone, the respect you show them, how well you get along with all humans, your abilities, and how smart you are," I said, as I was avoiding telling him the truth.

I nodded as i listened to Nightmare, "I can do that! I just need to be patient!" I stood up, "Thanks Nightmare, i was a little discourage but now i know i just need my father to make me one of them and then do what you said mixed with time and ill be a true member in no time! Anyways bye!" I then trotted off. I couldnt wait for Dad to get home so i waited by the gate. I half wished it would open but i knew that wouldnt happen, yet. After waiting a bit though, i decided to take a nap so i layed down and curled into a ball before closing my eyes.

"I did it!" I screamed jumping with joy. My father ran out chuckling and quickly nuzzled into me with a headbutt.

"You're an Honorary Military Raptor now!" My dad said happy for me, I passed all my assignments with flying colors

"Actually," Curse walked up saying and the others walked up behind him "We were wondering if you wanted to become an official Military Raptor and be a part of our pack," He said and the others nodded. "Of course, I understand if you don't want to since your rank would go down and it wouldn't be universal. You would also be the only female in the pack." He said almost embarrassed but with a flustered town to it.

"I will think about it," I said, it truly was something I would think about.

"Good choice," my dad said to me quietly, "Never make on-the-spot decisions if they aren't required," He said with a smirk. He knew he taught me well, I gave him a soft smile in return. "Your headpiece will be removed and replaced with a military-grade one," he said letting me know

We made our way back, and my father and I went through the gate to see Amor sitting right there.

"Well hello there Amor," My father said

I was about to fall asleep for good when i heard the gate open. My head shot up as i watched Zier and Rose entered the enclosure. I then got up, feeling embarrassed. "Oh, uhh hi Zier! I was just waiting for my father, not Rose, uhh or you." I realized as the words came out that i had messed up. What i had just said was probably the dumbest thing i ever did with Rose around. I closed my eyes shut and took a deep breath, calming down. "That came out wrong. I was waiting for my father though, so he can pick me to be a military raptor and then with Nightmare's advice i can be in a higher rank and not get pushed around!" I then turned to Rose, "Hey Rose! How'd it go? By the smile you had when you entered i bet you made it!"

I knew what was coming, my father was not going to be too happy. His face was one of pure anger, I lowered my head and quickly backed out of the gate. I could never deal with his yelling, it always terrified me.

"And what makes you think you can become a Military Raptor!? Hm!?" I said furious, I noticed Rose had backed out so I didn't hold back. "The decision is not yours to make, and it is already way too late in your life to be taught to you. You aren't even a loner, so you don't have the qualities needed to be one. It's also not that simple, It's hard for some fathers to pick and choose. At one point we have to completely abandon them for a night or 2 and see if they can survive on their own." I said with anger laced in my tone. I was fighting back the urge to yell "Most Military Raptor fathers don't do it because they can't handle the things required. I almost didn't pick one until Rose basically proved to me that she could. For peat's sake, she sleeps in a tree instead of with the rest of us," I exclaimed, "The only reason I even chose one of my children was because I knew she could do it, I wasn't going to live with the guilt of returning to my love and saying the child didn't make it through training."

I was shocked as Zier started to yell. Rose back out and i understood why. I lowered my head in full submission, i even made myself look as small as possible. "I- i didnt know, i just wanted to be able to go outside with Rose oh and umm the others." I wanted to run away and hide but i stood there, hoping this would atleast help with my reputation, not the getting in trouble part but the withstanding the yelling part. Behind me being affraid though i felt alot hurt as yet again another raptor didnt think i was good enough. All i wanted was to fit in and yet it just made me get into trouble.

I thought about my decision, the odds were too great. I decided I would ask for a small compromise. Curse came into view and they were just about to go in for the night.

"Curse!" I quickly said and his head snapped up,

"Yeah?" he asked as I trotted up to him

"I wanted to see if we could come up with a small compromise," The others' attention was now on me too

"Go ahead," he said

"I would prefer to keep my current title, being I'm treated the way I am. So I was wondering if I could still be seen and act as a member of the pack with you guys but still have my universal role?" I asked, it was asking for a lot

"What do you guys think?" he asked the rest and they quietly discussed then he turned to me, "we are all fine with it! But I have a question for you now." He said

"Shoot," I said

"Why are you out here again?" He asked and my expression dropped. He noticed the change "You don't have to answer if you don't want to!" he said in almost a panicked way but with an awkward smile

"The moment we got back Amor was waiting at the gate. When he explained himself saying he wanted to be a Military Raptor my dad lost it. I quickly backed out to avoid hearing the yelling. He hasn't done anything to make me afraid of his yelling, it just scares me in general." I said

"That is understandable, your father scolding is terrifying alone. I can't imagine what he is like when he is completely mad." He said sounding understanding.

"I don't know how long it is going to be, I'm debating on sleeping out here or outside the facility instead of going back," I said

"Well if you want we could sleep out here with you, I mean the boys have been asking if we could for a while now. So why not, we could all sleep outside the facility tonight!" he said encouraging it and the boys started to get excited

"That would be great," I said with a thankful expression and we all headed outside the facility. I scanned looking for a good and stable tree.

"What are you doing?" Curse asked as I spotted a good tree

"This," I said jumping into the trees and curling up. He just stared at me,

"why don't you sleep down here with us?" He said with a worried but joking tone. "I'm afraid you might fall in your sleep," He said

"Alright then, I'm not gonna argue. It's just become a habit because I'm used to having to hide from my family. They all like to huddle together in a bunch when they sleep." I explained

"I'm guessing it makes you feel trapped?" He asked and I nodded, I was grateful he understood. I curled up, everyone was about a foot or two away from each other. It definitely felt more comfortable than my family's den.

All my focus turned to Rose as Curse and the pack went up to her. I watched, trying to listen to them but it was impossible with Zier's yelling. As the went off together I watched with a longing look. I so wished i could go with them, but atlast i was nothing. I finally turned my attention back to Zier as Rose went out of sight.

I groaned "I give up. Your attention is clearly elsewhere," I said "Go ahead, ask your father, maybe you will listen to him," I said going to the den to sleep with the rest of the pack. I felt bad for driving Rose away a little, I wasn't too worried though. If she didn't show up in the morning then I would become worried

We all got settled in, I was near the center of the sleeping group. "Goodnight boys," I said to all of them

"Goodnight Rose," they responded in sync and I laughed a bit as I set my head down.

"Goodnight Rose, I hope you sleep well," I heard Curse say next to me and I glanced at him

"Good night curse, I hope you have lovely dreams," I said

"Then I hope to dream of you," He said quietly enough that I barely heard it but my face still turned red. I quickly curled up into a tighter ball and I heard a small chuckle come from him. Sleep didn't take long to hit me, and I was out within a few minutes.

I felt bad as Zier walked off. I wanted to protest because i was listening, atleast for the first half. I sighed before stretching out, after all being in that tight ball was a bit unconfortable. I then decided to go see if there was somewhere i could get high enough to see Rose and the pack. After a small time of searching i sat atop the large den. I could see almost the whole island. Soon i spotted Rose and the pack. It was a bit hard to see since there was trees in the way but i felt anger as i could see a blush spread across her face. Just then i realized that my eyes had focused in so much that i could just see Rose. My eyes started to burn so i shook my head. I then accidently fell off the den. When i woke up dad was standing over me. "Are you alright?!" I got up and nodded. He sighed a sigh of relif before turning to our home. After i didnt follow her turned back to me. "You coming?" I shook my head no. He relucktantly left me and i curled up under a tree, dreaming of Rose.
