POV: Dakota

Dakota huffs in annoyance as the other female tells her to take the scruffy little dog to the quarantine cave, but does so anyway because Lilly is basically the healer and if Dakota puts up a fight and argues with her, then who knows? Maybe there'll be one less dog on the island next time someone gets injured.

She takes the little dog by the scruff and carries him gently to the quarantine cave. She sets him down in the furthest corner from the entrance so that the wind doesn't get to him and nods to Mayhem as she leaves the cave.

Ace follows Dakota up to the trees where she usually sleeps and curls up next to her, shaking slightly. Dakota feels immensely sorry for the Border Aussie and allows him to spend the night next to her.

Lilly would head up to her own sleeping quarters, stopping by Dakota and Ace for a second. "You two need anything? I'll be awake before the sun breaks," She'd ask, tilting a fluffy head.

..

Mayhem would sit down. She knew there were some dangers on the island- it was nowhere for a recovering dog to be jumping around.

POV: Dakota

"Not at the moment, but thanks for asking. I'll see you in the morning." Dakota lays down her head right next to Ace's head and promptly falls asleep.


POV: Ace

Ace wakes up sometime in the night and can't fall asleep again, so he gets up and wanders over to where Mayhem is sitting outside the quarantine cave.

"Hello Mayhem... I can't sleep... May I stay with you...?" Ace asks quietly, sitting down in front of the female with his head hanging low, looking up at Mayhem with wide eyes.

Mayhem would nod. "Go ahead, it's better to have someone and not be so lonely out here," She'd warmly smile, standing up and pulling the male close.

..

Lilly nodded and went to her den, falling asleep in a blanket of moss and leaves.

POV: Ace

Ace snuggles up against Mayhem, happy to not be alone in the cold night. "Thank you," he says quietly. After a moment of silence, he asks, "How is the new arrival..?" tentatively.

(Oh my goodness, sorry for the very short reply...)

Mayhem nodded. "He'll be fine. By tomorrow we'll know if he'll survive or not," She yawns.

(Sorry for such a late reply..)

POV: Ace

"Ah. OK. Hopefully he does," Ace replies slowly. He closes his eyes, but still finds it almost impossible to sleep. He adjusts his position multiple times, but that doesn't do much.
(That's OK.)

Mayhem curls around the smaller canine. She tries to allow him to sleep, while she kept watch. The female ended up dozed off herself, and heard a earsplitting howl.

...

"What in dogs name?" Milo barked. "Why am I on an island!?" The small dog howled, frantic.

POV: Ace

Ace's head snaps up at the sudden noise. He looks around for the source of the sound before realising it came from the cave. He sighs, and rests his head on his paws, closing his eyes.

Mayhem sighed. She got up and stretched her legs, before walking into the dim den. "Calm down, you're fine! You are safe here, you aren't dead! Hush your mouth Little Dog!" The female grumbled sitting down next to the canine. "So, what's your name, Little Dog?"

Milo paced back and forth, yapping off questions before the female sat down and called him little dog. "Hey! I'm just.. small. Milo," He finally was able to get out and sit down himself.
