Ace desperately wants to kick them back but he can't, obviously, and he knows it. He knows they know he knows it. Instead, he closes his eyes and turns his head to the side so he's not looking right up at the sun and that faces of the soldiers. Right about now would be a good time to get up and find Stormy. His eyes sting with the threat of tears at the thought that Stormy is out there, all alone, and could be killed by animals in the woods. But Ace also knows that Stormy is a smart horse and should be able to find his way back to the farm.

As he lays there with his eyes closed, he waits for the insults and kicks to start again now that the leader of the group is gone. One of the reason he has his eyes closed is because he can handle the insults, but not the looks. He cannot handle the way they look at him, like he's some kind of pathetic animal or something. Like he's a burden. And he is a burden, but only to them. But he still hates the looks they give him. Exactly like the looks the people gave him back when he was in school. And he hates it. So he lays there with his eyes closed, just waiting.

Now that Lio didn't have the extra baggage he was able to move a lot quicker. Almost leaving the other two men behind with how fast he was moving. The growth of the forest was growing thicker the further they got in. After a while they reached a camp. It was a rather large camp. The hut must have been a lookout spot. Lio stayed hidden from a far, watching the enemies go about. This was exactly what he was looking for. He had something to report back to the Chief. He made sure to take a mental image of the layout, or at least of what he could see from his spot.

Feeling sure of himself now, he turned and headed back. The other two still hadn't reached him, by the time he headed back. He ended up running into them. They looked sweaty and were heaving. Once again, Lio couldn't understand how they managed to get this far in live war. They were clearly unfit for it, but the military needed numbers. He motioned for them to turn back and follow him. They looked dumbfounded but followed with a word. Reaching in the field he had left the soldier and captive, in record times, he jogged over to them. He slowed as he reached them. Not another word to the soldiers, he simply lifted the male once more over his shoulder and headed back where they had came from. There was nothing else they could do without Chief's orders. They found what they were looking for and that was it. Or at least Lio found it.

Once they were back on the white sandy beach, he scanned the water. The fog was still heavy, so he couldn't see much. Although, he could hear the motor of the boat. It sounded to be heading towards them, he began heading back into the water. It splashed loudly as he trekked through the cold water. Breaking through the fog, he could see the boat. He waved a hand in the air to alert the driver. The slowed and headed towards him. Stopping just in front of him, he place the prisoner into the boat and then climbed in. The three other soldiers climbed in after. Rather not as smoothly as Lio had down it. Then they turned and went further into the ocean in search of the vessel.

Ace seems to settle down now, as he's no longer kicking and squirming. He just accepts being carried like a sack of potatoes and lets himself go limp. He notices they are going back to the beach, so he works up the courage to ask, "Please, if you're going to take me, can you please try to find my horse..?" in a croaky voice. He doesn't really expect them to do that for him, since he's an enemy in their eyes, but he still asks for the sake of it. They get to the beach and stop for a moment while it seems they are trying to find their boat through the heavy fog. He asks about his horse once again, but they are already heading towards where their boat obviously is.

No one in the group is talking. The waves lap gently on the beach, and then suddenly the leader of the group raises his hand, and then the sound of a boat can be heard coming in their direction. He is placed in the boat, and looks around. All he can see is the soldiers, the water, and the fog. He can barely even the sand, which is only about 5-10 meters away. Again, he asks about his horse, and then waits for an answer which he probably won't get.

Lio wasn't going to feed into their captives antics. They had already managed to piss him off and he wasn't going to tolerate anymore. Everyone was silent until their captive spoke up, asking the same thing at least three times. To which Lio ignored. Wh would they ever do any favors for the enemy? Their prisoner must have hit their head really hard if he thought they would find his horse. Finally, someone spoke up, "Your horse is dead. I killed it. What use was it anyways." The soldier had a cruel smile playing on their face. Of course, that was simply untrue. Lio was leading them the entire time, they hadn't even found a horse. The soldier simply wanted to be an asshole and scare their captive.

Lio watched the white sandy beach grow further away until it was completely out of sight. His eyes then focusing on the dark blue water. They'd traveled pretty far out, until they were able to pin point the enormous vessel. Going towards it, a few of the soldiers began waving. With how many soldiers that were on that ship, someone was bound to see them. Of course, they were still awaiting their arrival. Lio watched the deck for any movement. Finally, the machinery that had lowered them into the water, was once again lowering. This time it was empty, making room to pick their small boat back up and into the vessel.

Adjusting the boat into the metal arms of the machinery, the called out for the all clear. Then they began getting lifted up. Lio watched above them, still not having removed the cloth masking his face. After they were set back into the large deck, Lio climbed out, making no move to get the captive out. The Chief was already standing there waiting for their arrival. Lio walked over and began explaining as much as he could of the layout and how many men could have been there. The Chief nodded, but motioned towards the stranger in the arms of the other soldiers. The soldiers struggled to pull him out of the boat and keep him standing next to them. "Cadet Conner found them." He said simply.

Then the Chief said something unexpected, that had Lio bewildered. The tall male didn't show it though. "Take them to your quarters, and stay there Lio." Was all he said before turning on his heels and calling over the other soldiers. He stood there for a moment watching the Chief and others retreating backs. Finally, he turned towards the captive, a deep glare playing on his features. Pulling his knife out he cut the ropes that binded his ankles and pulled him up into a standing position. Grabbing them by there arm, he began walking them towards his room. "Move."

(Holy moly, that's a lot-
I'm sorry if my replies are really short, by the way... I`m not a very literate person...)

Ace of course doesn't believe the soldier when he says he killed Stormy. He was with them the entire time. He hand't even seen a flicker of Stormy's dappled grey coat in the woods, or the field, or even back on the beach. The gelding must've found his way home pretty quickly. He looks out at the ocean which stretches far, far away. He looks for the little fish that jump around but it mustn't have be a good day for them to be out, since he doesn't see any.

He yelps when he sees the massive vessel suddenly loom out of the fog. Ace stares up in wonder and fear at all the faces watching them approach. He watches the machine on the ship with interest as it elevates the little Zodiac they are in and lowers it on the deck. He studies the other people on the deck of the massive ship warily, examining each of them before his eyes land on one formidable-looking man, even more terrifying than the leader of the small group of soldiers. He keeps his eyes on the man and doesn't look away. He doesn't hear the conversation as he's thinking about so many different things, still watching the man, until he hears, "Take them to your quarters and stay there, Lio".

His head snaps around to look at the leader soldier (Lio, he assumes). The lead soldier cuts the ropes on his ankles with his blade and yank him to his feet. "Move," the soldier commands. Ace obeys, not wanting to piss the soldier off more than he already looks and sounds and acts. "Sorry..." he mutters to the lead soldier as he's dragged across the deck.

(Lol just felt like its only been scenes about Lio, so I wanted to speed it up XD Also Really? You're writing is really good!)

The rest had went a completely different direction, or stayed on the deck on guard. Lio stalked towards his room, his mind racing. Why couldn't he have just left the new prisoner with the rest? Why did he have to take them to his room? Plus stay there? The only thing keeping him sane was his job! Now they were keeping him from that too, what the hell was going on? So many questions bombarded him all at once. This pissed him off. He wasn't even the one that found the captive, but there he was forced to keep them with him. Of course, Lio couldn't object or suggest another idea.

Lio was behind the captive, he glared at the back of their head as he heard them apologize. They should be sorry. If it wasn't for them he wouldn't be stuck watching over them. After a few turns, stairs, and long hallways, they made it to his room. He threw the door open, shoving them inside. Closing the door behind him, he walked them over to a corner and sat them there. He placed his large rifle up against a dresser away from them.

Doing what he always did after a long day of guarding, he began getting comfortable. Just because he had someone in the room with him now didn't stop him. He wasn't around any soldiers or the Chief or any of them. He didn't have to keep up his tough act. He had nothing to prove when he was alone. Starting with his belt he threw it onto the floor boards. Unbuttoning his shirt he tossed it onto the floor as well. He had on a short sleeve underneath. Taking his cap off he set that on the small dresser. Finally, he took his balaclava off, revealing his sharp, handsome features. His expression was blank, as he set the cloth on the dresser. He didn't bother with his curls, letting them hit his forehead, a few falling into his eyes.

Of course, he wasn't going to say anything to the captive. He would simply act like they weren't there. Opening up his drawer he searched through the uniforms in there. His hand touched a hard surface and he pulled it out. It was a book. He actually had a few he snuck in with him. The other thing keeping him sane. Tossing his large body onto the small bed, he sat up against the wall. He bent down to unlace his military boots, before also kicking them onto the floor. One long muscular leg dangled off the bed, as he opened his book. His eyes lit up as he read the words on the pages.

(Thank you... I really want to be able to write a lot more though..)

Ace stumbles and nearly smacks his head on the wall as he's pushed into the corner, but doesn't. He looks around the room and sees a small bed and a dresser, but not much else. He sits there, thinking about the day's events. He notices the soldier settling down and taking a book out of one to the drawers in the dresser. He wants to talk to someone but the soldier is obviously pissed with him and there's no one else in the room. Plus he's literally their enemy, even though he's not in his country's army. But he decides to talk to the soldier and probably piss him off more, because that's just the kind of person he is, being the youngest sigbling of his brother and sisters.

"What are you reading..? It looks interesting..," Ace says quietly, almost whispering. He hasn't read a good book in ages. He used to read heaps, but ever since he started helping his father with their family's farm, he's barely had time, and he figures since the soldier seems to be in a better mood when he's reading, maybe he'll be inclined to talk?

When pigs fly, he thinks after a moment.

(I mean you can write a pretty decent amount already. :)

Lio liked seizing opportunities to get out of the vessel. Even if it was for a little while. Although, he wasn't some crazed military man that enjoyed killing. He did it to survive. Survive what? He didn't even know. It wasn't like he enjoyed being in the military. It was forced on him by his father. Growing up that was the only idea his father burned into him. Always saying things like, 'You'll fit right into the military, son,' after a mundane task. So there he was in active war, risking his life, instead of living out his dream.

Lio's eyes were quick across the words on the page. He had forgotten he had to stop on a good part to go to work. This only made this break even better. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing that he was ordered to stay in his cabin. He could catch up some reading. Funny, one look at him you would never think he was an avid reader. That was the thing, he hid his books from other soldiers or his superiors. If they found out he snuck them onto the vessel he would probably get in trouble, have the book thrown over board, and be the talk of the week. If one did anything other than shoot enemies, gamble, or play dangerous games, like the knife game you were made fun of and no one would take you serious.

The tall male had almost forgot that someone was in the room. Looking over his book and over at the captive in the corner, he rolled his eyes. He shook his book slightly, showing the cover. "Are you blind?" He asked sarcastically. The cover of the book read, "The Vagrant." A book he was growing to be a big fan of. His eyes went back to the words on the pages.

(Oh my goodness-
I read the last paragraph and almost said sorry to your character for annoying him-)

"I-I'm sorry... I couldn't see the cover..." Ace mumbles, looking down at the ground. He felt slightly embarrassed, and also a bit upset. He was only trying to be friendly. But he shakes it off, knowing the soldier is reading, so he probably won't want to talk. He goes back to not saying anything, just thinking. Eventually, he closes his eyes and later falls asleep, his head leaning back against the wall and his legs brought up to his chest.

(I'm very sorry for such a short reply, but I'm honestly not sure how respond... Sorry..)

(Lol It's a good book, can you blame him? XD Also don't worry about it, it happens)

Lio kept reading and wanted to roll his eyes once more at the captive apologizing. He wondered if they thought the more he apologizing the more likely they'd set him free. It wasn't. The sad truth was, he'd probably spend his last days on earth in captive by the US military. It was no joke. Part of him wished they hadn't taken him as a captive, but they had no other choose. They couldn't just let a Brit go like that. What kind of look would that give them?

After a moment, Lio's gaze flickered to the male in the corner. He studied them for a moment, seeing as they had fallen asleep. They looked young. He wondered why they had even gone out to the beach, knowing what was going on with their country. It seemed highly dangerous to wander around an area where war was alive and well. Seeing as he was captured only proved that further. Glancing back at his book, "You're right. It is interesting." He said to no one, since his captive was sleeping anyways. His voice quiet, but deep. He had wanted to answer before, but choose not to. He craved to just blab on about this book to anyone who was willing to listen and that wouldn't throw his books over board, or make fun of him for reading.
