The waves crashed against the large Navy vessel. There was seemingly nothing for miles. Only dark blue water surrounded the ship. The overly tall male walked towards the railing of the ship. His fiery amber eyes scanning the blue surrounding. The sky was a pale color, with cloudy gray clouds. Making one believe it was getting ready for a down pour. The sounds of the waves crashing was almost comforting to the tall male. It gave him a sense of tranquility. Unlike the sounds of rapid gunfire. There was no real way of knowing if that sound would be joining the sounds of the calming waves.
The male dragged his gaze across the ship itself. Looking for anything out of the ordinary. The vessel rocked back and fourth with the harsh motion of the ocean. The male seemed unaffected by the jarring movement. He'd been doing it for far too long, of course it felt natural. The heavy, large M4A1 rifle, did not sway in the man's arms. The barrel of the weapon was angled downward. His large hands encased both sides of the rifle. One finger loosely above the trigger, and the other large hand on the forestock of the weapon.
The man was dressed in a dark blue camouflaged uniform. Black military boots encased his feet. A flight cap sat on his head, his jet black curls peaking out from under it. If the uniform and large weapon didn't seem threatening to any possible enemies lurking on the sea. The man himself certainly did it. With his tall stature and muscular build, paired with a fiery gaze that looked to kill, it could make anyone think twice before approaching him. His expression set into a stony glare, as he continued to scan his surroundings.
The young man carefully approaches the horse, who frets and stamps his hooves. The man holds his hands out, muttering soothing words. Carefully, slowly, the man places a hand on the fearful horse's neck. Smiling slightly, the man walks around the horse, all the time keeping his hand on the horse's back.
"There's a good boy..." he mutters. Once standing next to the gelding`s hind left leg with his back facing the horse's head, he gently picks up the horse's leg and picks the dirt and mud out of the gelding's shoe. He repeats this process with the horse's other legs until he's standing by the horse's head again, holding his halter with one hand, stroking the horse's head with the other, all the while talking soothingly and looking into the horse's eyes.
After a moment, the black-haired man grabs a brush out of his kit and brushes the horse until he practically shines. Then he saddles the horse up, puts one leg in the stirrup, and swings the other over the horse's back. He taps his heel lightly against the gelding's side and they set off for the beach.

The sound of a large heavy door clanked shut, a few feet behind the tall male. Soon after the sound of thunderous steps began marching towards him. The tall male wasn't at all alarmed. He knew those footsteps all too well. They certainly were not the sound of an enemies footsteps. Although, with the way they marched towards him, they might as well be. The tall male formally greeted his Chief. "Leo, gather your crew and prepare a zodiac." The man ordered. The tall male, Lio, as the Chief liked to call him, gave a simple nod of understanding.
The Chief turned on his heel and marched away. Lio headed in the opposite direction that his Chief. His steps were quick and purposeful. Jogging down a few steps and long narrow halls, he threw the door open. Behind the door was his crew. The crew was made up of five other men, that didn't include him. Frankly, they were all very unhelpful. They didn't take this whole war very seriously. They were the type to have joined the military thinking it was exactly like their videos games they played back in high school. That couldn't have been further from the truth.
"Chief has us scouting." Lio's voice was deep and powerful. Yet, it held a velvety tone. It wasn't an easy voice to forget. Turning back around he headed back up to the top of the vessel. With his quick, wide steps he reached it rather quickly. Stalking towards one of many grey Zodiacs, he began preparing to drop it into the ocean. Lio didn't bother looking for his crew, knowing very well they would be late. Pulling the strap of his weapon over his head, he swung it so it landed on his back. Clipping a few ropes into place, he rolled the heavy machinery over to the lowering area.
Once there, he readjusted a few ropes, putting it into position to be lowered. Turning back around he saw the five men making their way towards him. Climbing into the small boat, he pulled his weapon back around, and into his large, rough hands. The other men piled in next to him. Finally the small boat was beginning to be lowered into the dark waters below.
(Lio is pronounced like Leo. The spelling is different.)
Ace laughs in joy as his trusty steed speeds through the thin forest towards the beach. He crouches on his horse's back in two-point position, head low beside his horse's broad, light grey neck. Jumping over fallen branches, feeling like he's flying. Ace looks up suddenly to see a low-hanging branch hurtling towrds him. He flattens backwards so his head is resting on his horse's rump with the skill of an experienced rider, while the gelding runs straight, waiting for his rider to regain his balance.
After two hours of riding, the gelding and his rider burst from the trees onto the soft, white sand of the beach. Ace pulls slightly on the reins, drawing his horse to a trot. He steers the gelding towards the water which is lapping calmly on the beach. The water splashes against the horse's legs as he trots along the water-line.
"Good boy, Stormy," Ace says, giving his horse an affectionate rub on his neck.
The tall male was in charge of steering the small military boat. He maneuvered it skillfully, at a rapid pace. The fog made it hard to tell there was even land ahead, but the captain of the vessel must have alerted his Chief. That was why they had sent his crew out for scouting. The large military vessel was never meant to be docked anywhere on enemy land. No matter what happened, it never docked when out in the ocean. Obviously, unless they were back at base. They had always sent out scouting boats to check any lands that had been discovered in route.
One large hand remained on his heavy weapon, while the other steered with the motor. Finally, breaking through the fog, the men could see white sand ahead. As well as a tree line. From where they were, they couldn't see any people. They reached the shoreline in no time, with how fast Lio was going. Slowing the boat down, he got close enough so the men could unload, but not enough for the small boat to get stuck on the land. Lio made no motion to get off, as one man had to stay back and steer the small military boat around. At least until the land was cleared.
One of the men turned to Lio, they looked nervous. "Hey, man. Is it alright if I stay on Zodiac and you guess scout?" The man questioned Lio. He simply just nodded. He preferred to scout anyways. Standing up he swung his legs over the boat and landed with a loud splash in the water. It was up to his mid thigh, but for the other men, they were almost hip deep. Lio was among the tallest in his crew. Although, the other men had climbed out first, Lio beat them to shore. He yanked up his navy balaclava. Shielding the bottom half of his face. It was meant to cover his whole head, but he only used it to cover the bottom half of his face. With that he glanced around, feeling rather vulnerable he made a bee line to the tree line, not waiting on his crew to follow suit.
Ace's head jerks up at the sound of voices. He looks around but a thick fog has settled on the beach and he can't see much. Stormy stamps his hooves fretfully. Ace hears a loud splash that sounds like someone jumping into water from a boat. Stormy is getting increasingly nervous, and Ace decides to try and head back to the trees as quickly as possible.
He gently pulls the reins to turn Stormy around, but suddenly the gelding lets out a shrill neigh, and bolts for the forest. Ace is taken by surprise and tumbles off, hitting the ground with a heavy thud. The wind is knocked out of his lungs and he lets out a cry of shock, before slapping his hand over his mouth. He brings his legs up to his chest and places his forehead on his knees, looking at the ground and taking deep breaths, just like what his father had taught him to do if he ever got winded. He prays the people don't try to look for him and tries to breathe as quietly as possible.
