Starfire flicked his ears back at Ash, "It isn't your fault. My idea for the traveler in the first place." He responded, weaving the trees before hearing the horses behind him. Starfire flashed his wings before letting out a cougar like sound to scare the horses. Nope, no reaction meaning they were war horses. Starfire blinked before jumping over a log. "Let me think let me think," He thought out loud, trying to remember where the escape routes were for the mountain.

Ayesha sighs slightly, shrugging,"We coulda pulled it off. If I could lie better." Came her simple response, before the sound of horses grew louder. Then Ayesha almost fell off as she jumps at the sound of a cougar noise. Only to realize it was Starfire who made the noise. She sighs under her breath as she manages to swing the backpack around to her back before securing it on her back. Returning her grip to Starfire, being careful not to hurt him.

Starfire hurtled forward before suddenly cutting a corner hard, coming to a meadow. The jagged peaks were right in front of them but not what Starfire was looking at. Bounding forward, he zigzagged through an invisible line, making it to the other side as the horses came out with the dogs. The dogs stopped immediately, knowing something was wrong since Starfire stopped. The hunters kept coming but Lucas stopped with the dogs. The hunters that charged ahead got abrubtly caught in traps or they got shot with arrows from trees to the sides.
Starfire let out a howl before plunging deeper into the forest towards the moutain. He could still hear the yells of the hunters behind him. Making it to a particular large oak tree, he spinned before going up the side of a steep cliff, following the path before disappearing into a tunnel. He followed it before coming out at an underground lake. "We can stop here for the night, give us a break from the hunters." Starfire said, padding over to the lake side. "And Ayesha? Don't blame yourself. If it had been me, I would have simply ran and not fought back. It's been a bit since I've actually fought back against the hunters." Starfire said, looking over at Ash.

Ayesha grunts, letting Starfire do whatever he needed to do. Simply trying to stay on his back. After a bunch of traps were set off, a few more miles away they were safe. Well she assumed so, considering that Starfire stopped and what he said. With a shrug, Ayesha slips off Starfire's back. Stretching slightly as she drops the bag off her back. She glances at Starfire,"Like I said, you shoulda just ran. They wouldn't have gotten anything out of me." It was true, even if they had broke her; she didn't know anything that the hunters didn't already know.

Starfire snorted, "I wasn't going to just leave you there. A rule of ours: Never leave a friend behind." He said, looking into Ayesha's eyes. "Besides, I owed you one." He said playfully nudging her before jumping into the lake. Splashing water pretty much everwhere, he swam in lazy circles as he washed his fur off. He wasn't sure if he had managed to splash Ash but for good measure, he slapped a wing down drenching her. He smiled mischievously at her, chuckling playfully.

Ayesha flashes a small smile,"Thanks." As she goes to dig in the bag, glancing up briefly as Starfire nudges her then jumps in the lake. Ayesha moves back barely managing to avoid the splash, as she pulls out some food. Watching Starfire swim around, she wasn't that great of a swimmer. Then Starfire splashes her, and Ayesha yelps in surprise. Now drenched in water,"Starfire!" She laughs as she finishes off the food and leaps to her feet. Lunging towards the water in a attempt to splash Starfire

Starfire laughs letting her splash him before diving under the water. Coming back up, he got onto the shore before shaking himself off, water droplets flinging everywhere. He looked at Ash with a sad but playful glint in his eyes, "I haven't had anyone to play with for a bit. Couldn't help myself." He said before stretching out. He laid down near the backpack, stretching his wings out as he watched Ash.

Ayesha shrugs,"Ditto." She has been stuck at home for a while. Now while she was an adult, she still liked to play. So that was refreshing. After Starfire gets out, Ayesha shrugs going deeper. She had nothing in her pockets, everything was in the pack, so why not have some fun and swim? Ayesha eventually gets to the point that she had to swim, her feet no longer touching the bottom.

Starfire watched her for a moment before closing his eyes. He was tired from the escape but there was still day they could travel. Unfortunately, Starfire knew that the hunters would be out there for a while so the best thing to do was stay low. His ears flicked at an echo and his head came up. The echo was a howl but seemed to be coming from a tunnel leading down. "That's weird. We're not near the mountain tunnels yet." Starfire said, walking over to the tunnel before straining his ears to try to decode the message in the howl.

Ayesha continues to swim around a bit, dunking her head under a few times. Until finally she got bored and she swam for the shore. Hesitating as she hears a sound, her gaze flashes towards Starfire. As Ayesha continues to swim for the shore, finally reaching it as she shakes. Flinging water like a dog, it would be a bit before she and her clothing dried. She glances towards Starfire,"Be careful. It could be a trap for you." She warns as she heads towards her pack.
