Quinn made a noncommittal noise, "Mmmmhmmm. Stay awake now Lil' Kay. Just a little while longer. I'm not sure how much blood you've lost, or if you have a concussion." Quinn's sharp eyes scanned the horizon, and - finally - caught on a Mer. It was the nurse she'd seen briefly around town, with two assistants. Quinn handed off the two injured Mer, and followed them back to town. The nurse was quick to shoo Quinn off, which she was grateful for. It was only a few minutes later that Quinn was slipping back into her shared room with Jack, and flopped down on her bed.

Kay glared at Quinn, their eyes narrowing. Sarcasm wasn't exactly something that ran well with Kay, as they could never tell if the person was being serious or not. "I don't have a concussion, I just have not a lot of blood left in my body, not the same thing. Ripley is the one with the concussion." Kay shrugged, which caused black dots to dance across their vision. By the time the nurse finally got their hands on Kay, they were out cold. The nurse wasn't quite concerned though, Kay got hurt often, and would probably be fine. Ripley on the other hand, wasn't looking too great, and their mentor would have to be notified of it. (Can't wait for this dude to show up, I've wanted to throw them into the mix for awhile.) Jack was playing with a frozen fish when Quinn entered the room, and upon seeing her, unfroze the fish and threw it away from him. Acting like he totally hadn't probably just killed a fish. Once he settled down, he stared at Quinn expectantly, his eyes large. "Sooo, what happened?"

Quinn groaned out loud, bubbles flurrying past her ears, "So much shit happened. Ripley and some other Mer that was way too young to be fighting nearly got themselves killed," She griped, "So, like, as they were on the sea floor - Ripley was passed out and the other one couldn't swim - I kinda just - went over. And dragged the two of them back to town. They are at medical currently." Quinn paused, and wondered if she should mention the odd way the other Octo Mer were moving, and the tug she felt, and decided against it for now. Eventually, which would probably be tomorrow, she'd mention it, but for right now, Quinn's arms and tentacles were sore, and she just wanted to pass out.

Jack's jaw dropped, and the unfortunate fish passing by was frozen solid by accident. Of course he knew that this was war and all but Ripley was like... the best. He hadn't even thought about the fact that Ripley could get hurt, let alone die. That was naive of him, he knew that of course. People died, he knew tha tbetter than most, but Ripley seemed so confident and just, invincible, he hadn't really realized that they could die. Jack released a soft sigh, staring at his hands in his lap (do they even have laps?). Slowly, he gathered his words. "Well I'm happy that you're back and that Ripley and the kid should be okay. You should get some rest, you look like shit." Jack chuckled softly, the sound muted under the water as he looked up to Quinn. Truthfully, Jack felt a little restless, as he always did when he was stuck somewhere for too long, and, for some odd reason, he missed being up there, with two legs. Of course he loved it down here, of course he did, but everything was so unfamiliar, so foreign. He still felt out of place, and felt as though he was just a burden Quinn and Kiache just dealt with. Jack just wanted to be helpful.

Quinn nodded from where her face was pressed against her bed, "Yeah. I'm just gonna sleep, and like, figure out what to do later. That's future-me's problem." - ts?

Okey)) ~~ Ripley had been slipping in and out of conciousness until the next morning, which was when they finally woke fully. No one was there other than the healers and a few other, injured Mer. They had seen their mentor one time when they'd slipped into conciousness for a moment, but they were no longer here apparently. Ripley was grateful for that, their mentor was the last person they wanted to talk to. In the seaweed bed next to them was Kay, and their pale appearance startled Ripley into sitting up quickly. Of course, that was a horrible idea too, as they immediately got dizzy and drifted back into the bed quickly. A healer noticed Ripley's sudden movement and swam over, their eyes clouded with concern. "Please don't move so fast Ripley, you lost a lot of blood using your powers and you banged your head pretty hard too." Ripley released a sigh, bubbles flying up around them, but didn't give the healer any problems. They needed to heal quickly, and listening to the Mer was the quickest path to healing, plus, their mentor would be pissed if they got more hurt. ~~ Jack had woken early, curled up in the fetal position. He stayed like that for a long while, watching as fish swam in and out of the cave. He felt the Mer fire necklace warm against his skin, and the dark ice deep down as well. The fight between the Mer side of him and the human side was finally calming, and he felt healthier than he'd been since he turned into a Mer. It wasn't over yet though, as sometimes his ice still escaped him, though he had yet to tell anyone about it. Still, he was scared. The human part of him clashed with the Mer, and as he laid there, all curled up without anyone else in his head, he wondered who the hell he was, and how he'd gotten here at all.
